I've recently been having a look through the Homebrew Design section, and found some I really like from Kinem and Tzardok. It made me wonder what else is out there. So please post links to your favourite monsters you've seen which are either homebrewed or converted from other editions, and explain why you like them if you feel so inclined.

Unique fiends mostly by Kinem and Bohandas (https://forums.giantitp.com/showthread.php?648554-Unique-Fiends)

Primal Stone Giant by Kinem (https://forums.giantitp.com/showthread.php?656306-Stone-Giant-Primal)

Rilmani conversions by Tzardok (https://forums.giantitp.com/showthread.php?651594-Tzardok-s-Miscellaneous-Homebrew-Repository/page2&p=25695877#post25695877)

I am a great fan of most of afroakuma's works, but I especially like the nizzid (https://forums.giantitp.com/showsinglepost.php?p=25395975&postcount=96), an adorable fine-sized dragon that coils around wands and eats their charges, the tzilgar (https://forums.giantitp.com/showsinglepost.php?p=25235654&postcount=52), a curious magma squid, his additional genies (https://forums.giantitp.com/showsinglepost.php?p=24265537&postcount=1162) and his takes on the elementals, paraelementals and quasielementals. This needs to be published somewhere, because it’s brilliant. I love the creature design and the writeup is definitely channeling Sir Pterry.

Oh, I nearly forgot: here's some older stuff from afro. This (https://forums.giantitp.com/showthread.php?610658-Draconic-Hybrids&p=24459212#post24459212) is his thread on hybridizing dragons in an interesting way (I wish he'd return to post the last few samples and to generalize the "template" more) and this (https://forums.giantitp.com/showthread.php?92837-Limbo-4-0-(3-5-PEACH)-COMPLETE&highlight=limbo) is his old thread for more slaads (I think he considers it outdated, but it's still good).

Tzardok rocks! I'll readily agree to that! Still, while the additional Rilmani are perhaps more important cosmologically speaking, I think I'll always prefer the Zamonia stuff. And the Betting Hedge. Definitely the Betting Hedge.

Oh, and as I'm here anyhow: let's not forget about the endlessly prolific Bhu (https://forums.giantitp.com/showthread.php?642887-Critters-III!-Now-also-in-5e!) with five odd threads' worth of 2e conversions and original wild stuff under his belt. The most recent iteration of Critters has a few (https://forums.giantitp.com/showsinglepost.php?p=25584332&postcount=167) heavy hitters (https://forums.giantitp.com/showsinglepost.php?p=25590388&postcount=179) that (https://forums.giantitp.com/showsinglepost.php?p=25634523&postcount=245) are especially dear to me, I might add.

Holy moly, I know what I'm doing for the next several weeks. Thank you for drawing my attention to this, I'd not looked at it as the current thread is tagged 5E and I'm only currently playing 3.5.
