Here's an interesting character dip - the Twinned Summoner.

You get an eidolon that looks just like you. Your eidolon could act in your place while you are out adventuring. It could manage your business, serve as an alibi, or just run errands for you such as selling loot and puchasing potions.

It also gets access to Shared Evolution (1-point)

Select a 1-point or 2-point evolution the eidolon has. As a standard action, the eidolon can touch the summoner and transfer the selected evolution to him.
The Unchained Summoner gets only one evolution point at first level, so you'll have to either take more levels or the Extra Evolution feat. Once you've done that, there are many useful evolutions to apply to yourself.
1-point: +2 to natural armor, reach, scent, +8 to a skill, climb, or swim.
2-point: two more arms, two more legs, grab on a natural attack, or trample.

However, your eidolon needs to be within 3 kilometres of you or it is automatically dismissed (see summoner's life link). You'll have to think with portals. The simplest portal that comes to mind is 40k Ring Gates, which are fantastically useful in other ways as well. They'll work as long as you're within 100 miles.

Originally I was considering the unfetter spell, which allows the eidolon to venture as far from you as it wishes. This could be important if you are plane shifting. However, unfetter only lasts ten minutes per level.

(sorry, I can't make links due to spam filter)

One thing to keep in mind is that while the Eidolon is summoned, both you and it have a glowing rune present (one on your forehead and the other somewhere on your Eidolon, though Twinned might get the same rune on their forehead). This might cause issues with whatever role you want it to serve.
