He prefers the peace of the woods, but values protecting others above all else. He will always step up when called and is rarely scared of anything short of the Evil One and his minions.
Flaw:
Overconfident about his own abilities, he manipulates others into doing what he wants them to do. He is used to being able to fast talk others into proposing his own plans anyways and then being asked to do what he wanted.

Damage 1d8; Piercing
Battleaxe Attack 1d20+4

Appearance
Tominaga is really tall, but pretty lean. He grew up hunting in the woods of the borderland, so has sharp intelligent brown eyes. He wears his black hair in a traditional top knot, with the sides shaved. He is fond of earth-tones in his clothing choices, opting for a simple robe-like tunic over more elaborate options.

Background
Tominaga grew up in Shienar, the 5th son of the King. He was far removed from the possibility of ever ruling, so took to hunting the woods. He was trained classically in the arts of war and knew how to handle his own, but always preferred to be out in the woods.
At age 16, he was out hunting a huge boar when Trollocs attacked. He managed to take down a fair few, but there were too many, and he was captured. He was sure he was dead, but before they could carry him off, a patrol intercepted the Trollocs and freed him. He then dedicated himself to learning everything he could about them and ensure he was not in such a position again.
His position as son of the king, also afforded him many opportunities to travel to the other parts of the inlands and learn from them. He found he enjoyed the game of houses in Cairhien. He has gone so far as to perfect their precise, clipped accent to more fully participate in Daes Dae'mar. His family is not pleased and finds themselves being maneuvered more deftly than they realize. Luckily Tominaga wants what every Boarderlander wants, to protect the Westlands and keep out of the forces of the Dark One.
He was out on one of his travels when he found himself in Caemlyn. He had hunted earlier this day and sold his catch in the city, earning his lodgings for the night. As he came back in to the Dusty Wheel, he found a courier waiting to deliver him a letter. He thanked the youth and paid him a silver mark for his trouble, then cracked the wax and read the letter. He found himself intrigued and made his way to this Empty Gentlewoman to at least get a meal and drink out of Lady Regine for the night.

Patrick Dainsworth (http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=2815775)
Male NG Midlander (Amadicia) Armsman, Level 1, Init 2, HP 12/12, Speed 20
AC 19, Touch 14, Flat-footed 17, Fort 5, Ref 4, Will 2, Base Attack Bonus 1
Reach Boarspear +4 (2d4+3, x3)
Longsword +5 (1d8+3, x2)
Brigandine shirt, Small Steel Shield (+4 Armor, +1 Shield, +2 Dex, +2 Deflect)
Abilities Str 17, Dex 14, Con 15, Int 13, Wis 12, Cha 8
Condition None

Born and raised in Amadicia, Patrick's father was a low-ranking member of the Whitecloaks. They had a happy life until his older sister ran away from home one day. Rumors began that she was a witch and had run away to join the Tar Valon witches. Whether those rumors were true or not, they brought the Inquisitors down on Patrick's family. His father managed to smuggle his wife and children out of Amadicia and into Andor, where they settled in Baerlon in quiet obscurity.

As Patrick grew up, he started working as a caravan guard to help support his mother and younger siblings. For the past few years, he has escorted caravans between Andor and Cairhein, picking up the dialect there and the general wisdom of staying out of the way of the nobility there.

Having arrived earlier that day in Caemlyn with a caravan, Patrick has a full purse and was looking forward to a warm inn and a soft bed. However, a message reached him (of all people) from a Lady Regine, and curiosity drove the armsman to make his way to the Empty Gentlewoman.

Rodrin Lerinhald (https://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=2818255)

Rodrin is a Taraboner clerk by profession, but scholarship is his passion and hobby. He has ready everything he can find in the oldest books he could get access to in Tanchico, which often required a bit of skullduggery due to his lack of noble blood. After sneaking into a noblewoman's private library while she was away, he found a book purporting to be the translated diary of the false dragon Davian. Unable to part with such a treasure, Rodrin absconded with the book and took Eastward. Whether the diary is legitimate or not is still unclear to him, though he has not been able to find any obvious contradictions or signs of forgery so far. When Logain Ablar declared himself the Dragon Reborn, Rodrin determined to seek him out to ask about his life and the nature of channeling Saidin, hoping to see if the descriptions from Davian's diary match with what a living channeler, surely unaware of the diary, described. Before he could reach him, however, the False Dragon was captured. Unsure what to do from here, he has made his way to Caemlyn to regroup and plan his next step.

He is insatiably curious, and is willing to take significant risks to find answers to questions that dig at him, up-to-and-including some (non-violent) criminal activity like breaking into a private library. Despite his considerable wit, he is a bit out of his element since he decided to steal the diary and, later, to seek out the False Dragon Logain. Every step he has taken out of Tanchico has put him further from home with fewer resources and less direction, until he finds himself with a mysterious letter summoning him.

It's unlikely to ever come up given how early we are in the canon story, but I am imagining Rodrin as one of those men who can be taught to channel but would never channel on their own without instruction. I don't really expect the opportunity to arise to be tested/taught, but I thought I should mention it up front in case it ever becomes relevant.

Just wanted to say, i am here, but I am envisioning Tominaga watching the others go up and following the last one, thinking he is being smart avoiding the innkeeper.

Janelle does not recognize the Aes Sedai, but that doesn’t mean anything, since not all of them are in the Tower or deal with novices or Accepted when they are.

Who was Rodrin directed to talk to? Is he being directed to Patrick, or an NPC?

as I said, I wanted Tominaga to be the last one in, so I was waiting on the others to reply before I posted. I'll try to get something up tonight because I will be busy on Monday. I now know who the last one in will be, so I can make it work.

Sorry that I was slow to respond this week. I've been dealing with an ongoing plumbing situation and starting a new job, with a work schedule that is a little up in the air until September or so, thus I've been a bit beat and flustered. Still here and reading, just trying to take care of the life stuff, too.

I just want to confirm when in the story we are meant to be playing. Has Lan raised the flag of Malkier yet? Has the battle of Tarwin's Gap (with Rand) happened yet? Just want to know what kind of reaction a Borderlander would have to being told someone they need to find is in the borderlands.

I think we’re before the start of the books. Rand is still sheep farming in the Two Rivers and Moraine and Lan are on their way there now. That says that come spring, events from the books will start playing out.

Maybe, but I remember something in the advert about the black tower being an option for character background, so I thought we might be further along.

As for backgrounds, yes. This takes place right around the same time as Eye of the World begins, so arguments could be made for Seanchan or Aiel, but they would have to be good.

Bolded for emphasis.

But yes. This is right as they are leaving the Two Rivers.
