Alright, speedy description-

Assume flurry costs 1 Ki and step of the wind is both dash and disengage for 1 Ki.

Stances
Available from level 1

When you roll initiative, choose which stance you enter. You remain in that stance till you use a bonus action to switch.

Offense. While in offense stance you can make an unarmed strike as a bonus action. Once per turn when you hit with an unarmed strike or monk weapon you deal additional damage equal to your martial arts die.
Each time you enter this stance choose one of the following weapon masteries: vex, nick. Your unarmed attacks and attacks with monk weapons gain the benefit of that mastery.

Defense. While in defense stance the Ki cost of your Step of the Wind and Deflect Missiles techniques are reduced to 0.
Each time you enter this stance choose one of the following masteries: topple, slow, daze. Your unarmed attacks and attacks with
Monk weapons gain the benefit of that mastery.

I think this goes miles toward giving the monk tactically meaningful choice every combat.

Let me know what you think.
