So the main question here, vermin heart by raw technically doesn't let you use mind effecting spells on vermin. Would a reasonably GM let you use it to use charm animal and such on vermin?

The raw of the feat: Benefit: You may target vermin with spells and special abilities that only affect animals (although they are still affected by spells targeting vermin as well). You may use wild empathy to influence vermin as easily as you influence animals.

By a strict raw, the feat would work on a grant total of about 3 spells, apport animal, animal growth, and atavism. Even paizo seems to have difficulty with this feat, as evidenced by the vermin druid htt ps://ww w.d20p fsrd.com/bes tiary/npc-s/npcs-cr-8/tenzekil-braybittle/ who has the feat, has 3 different mind affecting animal-only spells prepared, and his stat block seems to suggest greater magic fang doesn't normally affect vermin.

Thoughts?

As a GM I would allow it, absolutely.

I'd say that works, on grounds of "specific trumps general".
