In a few weeks (once we clear Abomination Vaults) I am planning on running the Rifts Sourcebook 1 Adventure "Faces of Evil" to lead into a short campaign of Titan Robotics vs The Republicans, maybe with mechanoids in the background.

Has anyone run the adventure before? How did it go for you? I'm a bit worried about them ditching James T. but, babysitting an insane evil idiot is part of the fun. I think I need to convince them that they need James to survive and take out Archie-3(OZ) or the attacks will keep coming, but how?

My other worry is them getting a high enough damage output to take out 3OZ in a reasonable amount of time. I'll drop a rocket launcher or two along the way, but would that be enough?

The pretense of the adventure is that they are on a trip to find The Lost Treasure of Borgata in The Sunken City of Atlantic and they are travelling from Kentucky to New Jersey using an ancient roadmap where they run into the adventure on the way. Which is handy since it runs right through Baltimore and the center of Archie's "Territory".

I'm assuming you're using Palladium, not Savage Worlds?

Doing enough damage is almost always an issue in Palladium; unless you're bringing in stuff written by CJ in the 90s, you only do enough damage with missiles, and then, usually, volleys thereof. Combat is often a slog, and that's what it is. A few rocket launchers will help, but so will grenades and other things that will do a lot of damage per attack.

If you want them to have to babysit James, give James a "back door" he knows about that will help take out Archie. You gotta get him to this spot, and give him some time to "activate the failsafe". It keeps James with them, and lets you bypass having to do all that damage to Archie (while getting to have some epic battles in the open).

That's correct

I forgot that grenades exist, so that will be a good choice as well. The party I believe will be a dog boy, FC-Cyborg and a Flame Wind Dragon Hatchling. I'll throw some extra ordinance in the scene with the Robo-Rhino-Buffalo.

That's a good idea! I like that one. Escorting him through the facility to take out the "core" a final confrontation with 3-OZ and the minions while James sets the charges could be an exciting conclusion.

That's a shame. care to summarize what you were going to say in any case?

My thought was more Hackers than Die Hard... he created a back door into Archie's systems (which doesn't touch Archie's actual systems), and they have to give him some time to hack into it and shut everything down.

I just had an idea. I will have winding floor lines of different colors going through the facility. Like in a hospital.

The way James knows to archie to "get past security" follows the yellow line and ends at a big green door.

It will probably only be on the nose in hindsight but I would find it funny.
