I still don't have the book and now I am going to wait for the new printing, whenever that is.

It’s not. The hand is just at an odd angle that doesn’t look the best.

Nikki Dawes the artist is even very anti AI art.

Unlikely; WotC’s mentioned they’re only going to distribute the revised printing after the original print run is depleted. So the AI versions are going to be the main ones available for quite a while.
