I distinctly recall a section in a sourebook I want to go back and look at, it would be very useful to me, but I can't remember what the book was called! The section was (I think) in the back of the book, and it had detailed examples of contracts made with evil powers, and how difficult they were to loophole, ordered by difficulty, with easy and hard examples of how to loophole them. My first thought was either Fiendish Codex I or II, but I wasn't able to find it in them (Unless I missed it). Does someone remember what book I'm looking for, and where it is in it?

First question - you have posted in the "General Roleplaying" thread so which system was this for (or was it systemless)?

Your examples suggest D&D 3.5 and we have a sub-forum (https://forums.giantitp.com/forumdisplay.php?59-D-amp-D-3e-3-5e-d20) for that, but if so have you tried the Book of Vile Darkness?

Have a look at FCII again, specifically p.23-25 "Faustian pacts". It's not listed by name in the contents which is probably why you missed it (I did first time I looked).

Because I think it was 3.5, but it's possible it wasn't. It was probably dungeons and dragons though.

No, that wasn't it. It had specific examples of pacts and how to escape them.

Hmm, I think it's probably not 3E in that case. What other editions could it be?

Are you thinking of The Kintargo Contract (https://paizo.com/products/btpy9hdr?Pathfinder-Adventure-Path-101-The-Kintargo-Contract)?

Looks cool, but I'm fairly certain not.

Perhabs pathfinder Books of the damned?
see https://www.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?Name=Infernal%20Contracts&Category=Items for an overview, but of course the actual book probably has more content

I think that might be it, thanks.
