So I've ended up working on a secondary concept. Back-up concept? We'll see. The short summary of the character idea is a witch studying the nature of the gods, their deceased kin, and the realms made of their flesh. She is a hermit, absorbed in her studies and experiments into the nature of reality. While absolutely not a hero, she's moved to get involved in all these current events because she sees the opportunity to gain unique insights - and is concerned that, uncontested, they might undo her work and leave her behind as one more corpse of a past age. Mechanically, Stargazer 14/Frostfell Maven 10//Wizard 24 whose skills are crafting, cold, and divination.

I have two requests for this character!

1. I intend this character to have an Implement as her Radiant Armament, (https://forums.giantitp.com/showsinglepost.php?p=14062771&postcount=7) taking the form of a book. I'd love it to also be her spellbook. Could I enchant my Implement to be a Blessed Book (https://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/wondrousItems.htm#blessedBook), or something similar so it can function as a spellbook? It does offer an advantage in that the spellbook would be hard to steal or destroy if it's a device, but interest is really consolidation: having one significant tome that she uses, rather than two. I'm open to alternative suggestions for achieving that, if enchanting isn't appealing.

2. I really don't enjoy having familiars, but Wizard doesn't have a lot of ACFs that replace them. There's an alternative I like the idea of, but it stretches well past RAW by chaining ACFs. Essentially, there's a UA ACF (https://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/variantCharacterClasses.htm#sorcererWizard) that trades a familiar for a half progression animal companion. And in Complete Champion (page 50), the ranger has an ACF called Spiritual Guide, giving up an animal companion for a bonus (1/4th level) to Handle Animal, Knowledge (Nature), Listen, Search, Spot, and Survival while out in nature, as well as access to the Commune with Nature spell. Both ranger and the wizard ACF have animal companion progressing at the same rate, and on a balance level I don't think Spiritual Guide offers more powerful than an animal companion (it may be weaker, honestly). But it does fit with the themes of this character - a witch most at home on her own in the midst of the arctic, more knowledgeable about the world than the people in it. Would this be okay?

Some questions regarding the Radiant Armaments of the Frostfell Maven prestige.

Frostforged Artistry allows a Frostfell Maven to craft on the fly with severely reduced time and cost and states
"If she does not infuse a piece of magical weaponry or armor with the gold and XP components to sustain it, the item's enchantments will melt away the moment it is no longer in contact with the maven herself."

It's great fun and allows for things like enchanting a bunch of small weapons with Bane (+1) and Fiercebane(+2) just for that classic "the sword glows blue in the presence of orks" effect without costly (for any non-epic level at least) investment.
But what constitutes contact here? Does an unsummoned Armament lose the effect? What if it gets turned into a trinket instead?
But then, if you have multiple Armaments via the Twinned Device feat, is it possible to sheathe them? Instead of them all automatically floating in the air like you're a Final Fantasy protagonist, and thus losing the hours of work?

I will be withdrawing interest, I am not happy with my incarnate build and my creativity hit a slump.

So what you are saying is that suggestions from all these well read folk who are overflowing with ideas but constrained to one character are welcome?
What were you going for and how can we help?

Character is completed, spells can be done if im chosen (all druid spells), still have ~40k left for group consumables/needed items etc.
Decided to lean heavy into the ship theme, and now he is a Commodore with a fleet of ships.
Leadership is pretty much just for his fleet, the leveled followers being the captains, the 1st levels being the crew and his Cohort being his fleet XO.
Speaking of cohort, would you like me to build them out? or wait if selected?
Current concept for XO is a half-fiend Warlock or something similar.

Commodore Caspian Thallasar (https://www.myth-weavers.com/sheets/?id=2852146)

The Makeshift Whaler
Born to the isle of Azuremyst, amidst the roar of waves and the sacred reverence for the sea, there emerged a lad by the name of Caspian Thalassar. His world was a small haven of lush groves and ancient ruins, where the villagers revered the great beasts of water, especially the mighty hippos that frequented their shores. Caspian's life, much like the tides, was a cycle of simple joys and communal labors—until the highstorm came.

It was a tempest that spat out the wrath of the gods, swallowing the land whole, leaving nothing but the memory of an island that once was. Caspian survived, by the grace of Breigos, or so he believed, with nothing but his life and a young hippo calf, whom he named Narwhal, the little godling. Together, they roamed the sea, drifting on the currents of fate, until the day fate took the form of the whaler ship, the Leviathan's Bane.

The captain of this vessel, a burly man with a tangled beard and a laugh like thunder, took a shine to Caspian. "Ye've got the sea in yer blood, lad," he bellowed. "An’ that beastie o’ yers could scare the barnacles off the hull!" So it was that Caspian and Narwhal joined the crew, though the lad's heart lay not with the hunt but with the deep calling of his deity.

In the bowels of the ship, among salted meats and the stench of whale blubber, Caspian learned the ways of the sea marauders. Their accents were rough, their stories wilder than the waves, and their loyalty as fickle as the winds. He watched, he learned, and he waited.

Then, during a hunt, as the harpoons aimed for the innocent heart of the ocean's kin, Caspian's spirit broke. With a mighty roar, he called upon the powers of earth and sea. Vines erupted from the water, entwining the whalers, and the sea itself seemed to rise in defense of its creatures. Narwhal, grown now to a formidable size, became a living embodiment of Breigos' might.

The mutiny was swift. Caspian, with the sea's blessing, claimed the ship as his own, renaming it Breigos' Wroth, a testament to the divine fury against those who would harm the sea's sanctity. Those who survived the uprising pledged their swords to Caspian, and thus a new legend was born.

As captain of Breigos' Wroth, Caspian Thalassar, with his first mate Narwhal, sailed the seas not as a marauder but as a guardian. His crew, a patchwork of accents and tales, followed him not out of fear, but respect for the man who spoke for the ocean. They would be hunters no more but protectors, defending the sacred balance of nature.

The Stormwright's Challenge
In the vast tapestry of the sea's legends, there whispers the tale of The Stormwright's Challenge, an epic trial imposed by none other than Lord Aelthas Stormwright, a being of tempest and fury whose domain was the line where sky meets sea. It was said that Aelthas, with his eyes of lightning and voice of thunder, could command the elements with but a mere flick of his wrist.

Caspian Thalassar and his loyal crew aboard the Breigos' Wroth found themselves in the thrall of such a legend when they ventured into the heart of the Maelstrom's Eye. A realm where no mere mortal vessel dared to sail, it was a place where the sea's wrath and the sky's malice danced in a deadly embrace.

The challenge was laid before Caspian as the skies darkened and the waves roared like the drums of war. Lord Aelthas, towering and fierce, his cloak a swirling mass of storm clouds, declared, "Prove thyself, O' Captain of Breigos' Wroth! Show thy worth to harness the tempest's heart!"

The crew, aghast at the sight of the elemental lord, trembled as the sea heaved beneath them. But Caspian, with Narwhal by his side, stood resolute. He invoked the druidic magics and incarnate powers bestowed upon him, and thus began a battle of wills against the very essence of the storm.

The ship, alive with the spirit of the sea, danced across the towering waves, her sails whispering ancient chants. Each gust of wind, each bolt of lightning was met with Caspian's own fury, a symphony of nature's raw power. As the ship carved her path through the tempest, it was not merely a vessel cutting through water but a divine instrument enacting the will of Breigos.

In the end, as the storm abated and a calm spread across the waters, Lord Aelthas bowed his head in reverence. "Thou art truly the chosen of Breigos, Caspian Thalassar. Go forth with my blessing, Stormrider, and let none question thy dominion over the sea's rage."

Thus, the legend of Caspian and the Breigos' Wroth grew ever greater, the tale of The Stormwright's Challenge another jewel in the crown of stories that surrounded the enigmatic sea captain and his divine mount. They sailed away from the Maelstrom's Eye not as survivors, but as champions, their legacy forever intertwined with the will of the elements and the ancient gods who reigned over them.

The Whaler's Ghost
Amidst the fathomless depths and unyielding tides of the sea, there stirred the story of The Whaler's Ghost—a spectral galleon said to sail the waters where the whales sang their mournful tunes. It was a ship that bore the scars of countless battles and bore the souls of those taken before their time, captained by the infamous Marrow, a once noble seaman turned ruthless phantom through treachery and a boundless thirst for vengeance.

Caspian Thalassar, the Sea's Chosen and captain of the Breigos' Wroth, came across this ghostly vessel during a night when the moon was but a sliver in the sky, and the stars shone with an eerie light. The Whaler's Ghost, with sails as tattered as the souls it carried, emerged from a thick, otherworldly mist—a sight that would chill the bones of the bravest sailors.

Captain Marrow, his voice a hollow echo of his lost humanity, challenged Caspian and his crew, seeking to add them to his cursed ranks. But Caspian, ever the fearless leader, saw through the phantom's bluster—a soul in eternal torment, a mariner who could not let go of the sea or his sins.

With Narwhal at his side, Caspian met Captain Marrow in a parley that would turn the tides of the afterlife. In a display of cunning and guile befitting a rogue of his stature, Caspian bartered with the phantom, not for gold or glory but for redemption. He offered the restless spirits aboard The Whaler's Ghost a chance at peace, a final resting place where their songs could join those of the whales they so dearly loved.

In a daring gamble, Caspian agreed to merge his fate with that of Marrow’s, taking the helm of The Whaler's Ghost for a time, steering it through the perilous waters of the Ethereal Plane. With the guidance of his druidic insight and incarnate knowledge, he navigated the ship to a sacred cove, whispered in legend to be a crossing for lost seafarers' souls.

As dawn broke and the spectral ship reached the cove, the ghosts found their salvation. The ship dissolved into the sea mist, and the souls aboard ascended as streaks of light, joining the celestial heavens. Captain Marrow, his visage softening for the first time in centuries, gave Caspian a nod of gratitude before vanishing into the ether, his curse lifted.

Caspian returned to the Breigos' Wroth, his crew in awe of their captain's depth of heart and bravery. The story of The Whaler's Ghost became one of redemption and mercy, a testament to the sea captain who sailed not for riches, but for the sanctity of life and the peace of souls. And thus, the legend of Caspian Thalassar grew ever richer, a tale to be told wherever the sea's whispers could be heard.

The Hippo's Haven
After the ethereal events with The Whaler's Ghost, Caspian Thalassar found himself drawn back to the cove where he'd witnessed the salvation of lost souls—a tranquil inlet hidden away from the world's prying eyes. This serene sanctuary, surrounded by towering cliffs and ancient trees whispering secrets of the old world, would come to be known as The Hippo's Haven.

It was here that Narwhal, his faithful hippo companion and godling, found a peculiar connection. The waters of the cove seemed to resonate with a deep, abiding magic, a remnant of the profound happenings that occurred with the spectral ship. The sea life thrived, and the whales' songs could be heard clearer and more soulful than anywhere else in the world.

Caspian, ever the incarnate of nature's will and the druid's path, sensed that the cove was a nexus of life, a sacred place where the veil between the physical and the spiritual was tender and thin. He decided to make this cove a refuge for his aquatic ally and for all creatures seeking respite from the unforgiving sea. The Hippo's Haven became a place where the spirits of the sea mingled with the living, a place of rest for weary souls, and a cradle of life for the marine creatures.

As the word of this mystical cove spread across the high seas, many a sailor and pirate sought it, lured by tales of a paradise where a great sea hippo basked in the sun, protected by a sea captain who could commune with the spirits. Yet the path to The Hippo's Haven was known only to Caspian and his trusted crew, and he guarded it fiercely, ensuring that the cove remained untouched by greed and violence.

Over time, The Hippo's Haven became a part of seafaring legend, a symbol of hope and peace amidst the tumult of the ocean's wrath. It was said that if one were to find themselves lost at sea, in their darkest hour, the spirit of The Whaler's Ghost would guide them to the cove, where the guardian hippo and the captain would offer sanctuary.

Thus, in the very waters that had once borne witness to sorrow and loss, Caspian and Narwhal created a legacy of conservation and protection, a testament to their bond and to the enduring power of redemption and kinship. It was a fitting tribute to the journey they had undertaken together, from the storm-ravaged island of their origin to the mystical waters of The Hippo's Haven.

Battle of the Azure Depths
As Caspian Thalassar, born of Tethys's Cradle, sailed the endless blue, his legend grew—not just as a solitary sea druid but as a leader among the waves. His journey took a pivotal turn during a fateful encounter with a notorious pirate fleet known as the Crimson Corsairs. This band of ruthless sea wolves, led by the infamous Captain "Red" Marcellus, sought to claim the seas as their own.

It was in the treacherous waters of the Azure Depths that their paths crossed. The Corsairs, known for their savagery, underestimated the cunning and prowess of Thalassar. In a battle that raged beneath the scornful gaze of the storm gods, Thalassar, aboard Breigos' Wroth, proved his mettle. With Narwhal by his side and nature's fury at his command, he turned the tides against the pirates.

The climax of this sea-bound saga was marked by a moment of extraordinary courage. Thalassar, invoking the primal powers of the sea and wind, ensnared the Corsair's flagship, the Sanguine Tide, in a whirlpool of his own conjuring. The sight of their flagship's demise broke the Corsairs' resolve. In the aftermath, the surviving pirate ships, awed by Thalassar's prowess and the mystical might he wielded, swore fealty to him rather than face obliteration.

From the wreckage of this maritime conflict, Commodore Caspian Thalassar emerged, not as a conqueror but as a unifier of the sea's wayward children. He consolidated the captured ships, each a testament to his victory, into a small but formidable fleet. This armada, a melange of pirate galleons and merchant vessels, became known as the Breigos' Vanguard.

Under Thalassar's leadership, this newfound fleet sailed not for plunder but for a greater purpose. They patrolled the seas, safeguarding the innocent from the predations of the less honorable, all the while searching for relics and remnants of Tethys's Cradle's lost culture. Commodore Thalassar, once a solitary guardian of a forgotten isle, now stood as a beacon of hope and strength, a legend whispered about in taverns and sung about in shanties across the seas.

The Breigos' Vanguard Fleet
FLEET ships:
-Mistral's Mercy: This ship, previously a pirate vessel under the Crimson Corsairs, was known for its speed and agility in navigating through treacherous waters. Its name, "Mistral's Mercy," symbolizes the winds of change and fortune that guided it to a new path under Thalassar's command.

Captain Alaric Vane is a charismatic and daring leader, known for his quick reflexes and flamboyant fencing style. With a knack for rallying his crew in the heat of battle, he's equally adept at navigating political waters as he is the sea. His backstory involves turning from a life of petty crime to a more honorable path under Thalassar's influence.

-Sea Seraph's Embrace: A caravel with a storied past of both trade and conflict, it was renowned for its resilience and fortitude. The name "Sea Seraph's Embrace" reflects its protective nature and the reverence for celestial guardians, aligning well with Thalassar's spiritual journey.

Captain Eudora Bramblethorn: A deeply spiritual and compassionate figure, Captain Bramblethorn is a devout follower of a sea deity, skilled in both healing and defensive magic. She was once a healer in a coastal village before turning to the sea to spread her deity's teachings. Her ship is known as a sanctuary and a place of respite.

-Tide Whisperer: This ship was notorious for silently gliding through the waters, making it an ideal vessel for surprise attacks and stealth missions. Under Thalassar's leadership, "Tide Whisperer" became a symbol of the silent but powerful influence he wielded over the seas.

Captain Silas Greywave: Greywave is a master of stealth and espionage, with a past shrouded in mystery. He's an expert navigator, particularly in night-time operations, and his ship is often used for reconnaissance and secret missions. His loyalty to Thalassar was earned through a debt of honor.

-Coral Harbinger: Originally used for more nefarious purposes, this caravel was repurposed by Thalassar for exploration and discovery, especially in areas rich with coral reefs reminiscent of Tethys's Cradle. The name "Coral Harbinger" signifies its new role in heralding a deeper understanding and appreciation of the sea's mysteries and wonders.

Captain Isolde Ironsail: Captain Ironsail is a seasoned explorer and survivalist, with extensive knowledge of the sea's flora and fauna. Her background as a coastal ranger makes her an excellent guide through uncharted waters. She has a deep respect for nature, aligning her closely with Thalassar's druidic aspects.

To save you from getting in trouble, I will point out that class dips aren’t allowed. You have to make a very significant investment into all classes.

Escheton

Which for concept and power focused dip avoidance is fine. But for skills it's an absolute nightmare and makes one vividly remember why the Pathfinder move was so welcomed.

namo

Actually, a "no dip" rule, while a legitimate aesthetic choice, favours casters, who rule the roost anyway. Melee fighters really benefit from dips into Fighter / Barbarian / ToB classes (and ranged fighters from Fighter / Ranger dips), to try and approach the casters' level.

(I can say this impartially, because I'm not submitting a character here; I tried, but it's too much for me. Kudos to people who submit multiple times!)

Zarthrax: A future note, Zagan's work always felt off.

Regarding Requests:
Shifter Totemist is allowed, with the following exceptions: Lycanthrope Avatar cannot bind to the Totem.
Wild Soul is shotgunning a request. That's a massive amount of soulmelds. Please verify that this is something that you are determined to use.

samduke: Format it like an actual magic item.

And you're right, I won't defend it. Consider however, multiple build ideas you've presented have been dealing with the my annoyance towards dips, and Roguetotem is especially prone to it given it does a lot of +Int to X or Y. Me stating "3 Roguetotem" is not me saying "3 levels is a dip".

Thokk_Smash: Madness is a hard topic to approach when it comes to interactive games, so I'm glad we're discussing it.

Aegis013: Play up why Gallahan's image is as strong as it is to warrant a King's worry and the use of necrocarnum as such a horrid revelation. I haven't read the background, but if you can show me why Gallahan is such a near mythologic figurehead with such support and appeal, then it makes everything else fall into place.

On a separate note, I'm actually unphased by players using Animate Dead, so that's not a concern on my end.

CozJa: I would caution that a others are doing either Soulknife or Roguetotum. But otherwise Primordial Half-Giant is approved. I think this is the first time I'm approving of Primordial Half-Giant.

Dakrsidder: I would want to stick by our original agreement on the epic feat.

Talivan: Prestige Bard is not allowed.

AmberVael:

Regarding Requests:
This is an odd one. AFAIK, Implements are found/made via an assortment of ways, and AFAIK they can be enchanted? Which means that yes, you can do that.
This is also an odd one, and it is a stretch. The main thing is that it would disappear when you enter into anything larger than a hamlet. Long as you're aware that that's enforced, go for it.

Escheton: I view these things as rules to stop people from gifting out of proportion powerful items. So if you're not holding or wearing it, it's gone.

namo: I understand you think you are being impartial, but I'm not sure why that would give you social leeway or a pass. This is rude at best.

Zarthrax

@Cardea- I would like to use them, and on reading, none of them stood out too bad as abusable. Even the one that grants sneak attack (Fox's Ears) grants 1d6 + 1d6 per two essentia invested, which doesn't strike me as particularly OP? If it helps, before using any of those melds, you can ok or nogo it. If that is acceptable, then the first one for review is Fox's Ears.

Edit- On second thought, after some thinking, I've actually figured out something better. Can we fold the Enlarged Share Soulmeld and Share Essentia features under an Epic Share Soulmeld feat? That's really the only portions of the class I actually want.

It'd look something like this-

Epic Share Soulmeld [Epic]
Prerequisites: Share Soulmeld, 21st level.
Benefits: Shape Soulmeld now has a range of 5 ft. per character level. When you are sharing your soulmelds with your animal companion, you can invest essentia differently for your companion's melds. Your companion has a number of essentia available to invest equal to the essentia you have invested in your own soulmelds, which you can choose to invest as you will. You must still follow the normal limitations on maximum essentia invested. You can change these investitures any time you could change the investitures in your own items. In addition your animal companion gain the incarnum subtype and can be considered a magical beast if doing so would be advantageous to him or you.

Ah I found the knife. Its just slightly better range, penalty in melee, and requires exotic weapon prof to be able to use it. I think it takes a bit too much to get minimalistic ally better in one area, and worse in another area.

If we're gonna make something up here to make it functional

Juggler's Knives
This +X dagger appears to duplicate itself as its juggled about with the juggler juggling illusory copies. When the dagger is thrown it immediately returns to the wielders hand taking the place of a duplicate. If for any reason it cannot return to the wielder's hand, the illusionary duplicates stay around for one round before fading.

This "Improved returning" is a +2 cost ability, based on Returning being a +1. So if the dagger is a +1 dagger, it would cost the same as a +3 dagger.

And for ships and wiggles.

Jester's Cap
Head Slot
???? gp

This cap lulls your opponents into a false sense of confidence that they can perceive your location but with careful movements you can stop the bells from ringing for a moment making you difficult to perceive

Wearing this cap gives you a -5 to move silently checks. However if you move while doing a tumble check and beat a DC XX you may make a hide and move silently check to become hidden until the end of your turn by anyone who cannot spot or hear you or you take an action that normally breaks stealth.

Could also do an ironic at this level, "You become invisible" if you succeed the tumble check
Another stupid idea.

Jester's Ball
Slotless
???

A rider can ride this mount by making a balance check each round to stay on the ball. The rider is considered to be mounted. The ball has no actions of its own, and moves at twice the rider's own base speed. The rider can make jump, tumble, and balance checks for the ball.

Juggler's Knives
Weapon (dagger)

This enchanted dagger has an intricate hilt adorned with mystical symbols. The blade itself appears to be made of an otherworldly substance that shimmers with illusionary duplicates as it moves.

Attack and Damage: This +X dagger provides a bonus to attack rolls and damage rolls equal to its enchantment bonus (X).

Juggling Illusions: As a free action, the wielder can initiate the illusionary juggling effect. The dagger creates up to three illusory duplicates, mimicking its appearance. These illusions can be dismissed as a free action. The illusions have no physical substance and cannot be used for any practical purpose other than aesthetics.

Throw and Return: When thrown, the dagger magically returns to the wielder's hand at the end of an attack. The illusory duplicates seamlessly take the place of the thrown dagger in the juggler's hand.

Fading Duplicates: If, for any reason, the dagger cannot return to the wielder's hand (e.g., due to being stuck in an antimagic field or a similar effect), the illusory duplicates persist for one round before fading away.

Jester's Cap
Wondrous Item (head slot)

This cap, adorned with whimsical bells, lulls your opponents into a false sense of confidence by creating auditory illusions that obscure your true location. With careful movements, you can momentarily silence the bells, making you difficult to perceive.

Effect: When wearing the Jester's Cap, you incur a -5 penalty to Move Silently checks due to the jingling bells. However, the cap provides a unique benefit when performing a Tumble check.

Tumble and Hide: If you move while performing a Tumble check and beat a DC XX (choose an appropriate difficulty based on the campaign's power level), you may immediately make a Hide check and a Move Silently check as free actions. If successful, you become hidden until the end of your turn from anyone who cannot spot or hear you. This effect is negated if you take an action that normally breaks stealth.

Cost: The cost of the Jester's Cap is open to interpretation based on your campaign's economy. Consider it a rare and specialized item, so it might be relatively expensive.

Jester's Ball
Wondrous Item (slotless)

This whimsical, enchanted ball functions as a unique mount for those skilled enough to master its unpredictable movements.

Mounting: A character can ride the Jester's Ball by making a Balance check (DC 15) each round to stay on the ball. The rider is considered mounted while on the ball.

Speed: The Jester's Ball moves at twice the rider's base speed, offering a swift and entertaining mode of transportation.

Actions: The Jester's Ball itself has no actions of its own. The rider controls the ball's movements and can use their own actions while riding.

Skill Checks: While riding the Jester's Ball, the rider can make Jump, Tumble, and additional Balance checks to perform acrobatic feats. The DCs for these checks are determined by the DM based on the complexity of the maneuver.

Disengaging: If the rider falls off the Jester's Ball or dismounts voluntarily, the ball comes to a stop. The rider can attempt to remount as a move action on their next turn, repeating the Balance check to stay on.

Cost: The cost of the Jester's Ball is open to interpretation based on your campaign's economy. Consider it a rare and entertaining item, so it might be relatively expensive.

Jester's Foolery

Type: Light Armor
Slot: Body
Material: Gnome Twist Cloth

Description:
Jester's Foolery is a masterfully crafted piece of gnomish twist cloth, woven with enchantments to provide both protection and incredible utility. The cloth shimmers with a playful energy, reflecting the mischievous nature of its gnomish creators.

Properties:

Sleight of Hand Storage:

With a successful Sleight of Hand check, you can store anything in your hands into the numerous pockets of the armor. This can be done as a free action with a Sleight of Hand check, or as a swift action without the check.
Quick Draw Enhancement:

If the wearer has the Quick Draw feat, they can draw weapons from the armor's pockets as a free action. This allows for swift and seamless transitions between different weapons in combat.
Extradimensional Pockets:

The armor features multiple extradimensional pockets, each capable of holding up to one cubic foot of material. The weight limit for each pocket is five pounds. These pockets provide an easy and secure means of carrying various items without encumbrance.
Weight Concealment:

Regardless of how much is stored in the pockets, the armor's weight remains constant. This enchantment ensures that the wearer does not suffer from increased encumbrance, making it ideal for agile and quick characters.

Felinestra's tale begins in the heart of a majestic kingdom, where they were born into a family of honorable knights. From a young age, Felinestra displayed exceptional prowess in combat and a natural charisma that endeared them to their peers. As they grew older, their skills caught the attention of the kingdom's knight order, and Felinestra was knighted as a swashbucking champion, celebrated for their bravery and swordsmanship.

Life as a knight was filled with joy and purpose. Felinestra fought valiantly for their country, defending the realm from threats and becoming a symbol of hope for the people. However, fate had a cruel twist in store. In the midst of a great battle, tragedy struck. A close friend and fellow knight, with whom Felinestra had shared countless adventures, fell in combat. This loss shook Felinestra to the core, and in the aftermath, they discovered a dark secret – a betrayal within the knight order that led to the tragic demise of their comrade.

Consumed by grief and disillusioned by the corruption within the very institution they had dedicated their life to, Felinestra denounced their knighthood and cursed the gods for allowing such deception and tragedy to unfold. In their eyes, the entire concept of knighthood became a farce, a cruel joke played on those who believed in honor and justice.

Felinestra, now disillusioned and bitter, decided to embrace the absurdity of life. If their entire existence was a joke, they would become the punchline. Renouncing their knightly armor, Felinestra adopted the guise of a jester, donning colorful and flamboyant attire that concealed deadly blades within its folds. They became known as Felinestra the Felonious Fool, a legendary assassin who cloaked their lethal intent behind a facade of jests and laughter.

As a jester-assassin, Felinestra honed their skills in juggling and knife-throwing, using these seemingly lighthearted acts as a cover for their deadly precision. Despite the increasing darkness that enveloped their heart, Felinestra's reputation as an assassin grew, and their name became whispered in shadows as a force to be reckoned with.

In the midst of chaos, Felinestra found a peculiar sense of purpose. By embracing the absurdity of life and adopting the role of a Felonious Fool, they sought to expose the hypocrisy and corruption that tainted the world.

Working on the backstory stuff but the general outline for it is above.

I've grown dissatisfied with my current character concept so I'm going to try to tinker with something else. Got an Empath/Firekeeper//Firebender idea rattling around my head.

Requests:
1. Awakened Raven as the chosen race (refluffed as a magpie, this is just the closest animal that has an official statblock).
2. The ability to qualify for the Firekeeper prestige class using the Attuned component instead of the Prisms component (it's otherwise inaccessible for any evoker that uses Companion illuminations).
3. A custom feat to be able to have firebending forms count as illuminations for the purposes of the Firekeeper's Primal Spark and Undying Flame class features.
4. Confirmation on the whether the requests related to playing an epic Firebender made in the original Exulansis recruitment thread (Expanded Bending Insight (https://forums.giantitp.com/showsinglepost.php?p=19706484&postcount=33), Epic Firebender Progression (https://forums.giantitp.com/showsinglepost.php?p=19706196&postcount=24) with your changes (https://forums.giantitp.com/showsinglepost.php?p=19706351&postcount=26)) are still approved.

An immortal element-wielding magpie that can be traced as a companion of multiple figures of note across history, but who could only retain about a decade of memories at once until roughly 100 years ago. Their last companion was a High Priest of Vei who surprised them by expending a priceless scroll of Wish to grant the return of their memory. After this cherished friend passed away, they began to follow the trails that their past companions walked, honoring those memories however they can. Their memory is only gradually returning, a procession of reverse-chronological order that has yet to reach whatever their beginning was.

Mechanically, each Empath Persona would be configured to represent a different close friend that they've remembered, including a Companion Illuminations that represents an echo of the legend they built. If Devices are to be ruled not inherently useable by a raven form then part of the gold budget will be spent on a Girallon's Blessing effect to make that work.

Oh my god, I'd forgotten how long ago the previous recruitment was. I was a year away from graduating, still not in the "real world". No wonder I had the energy to think of expansions for Firebending X'D

Yeah I already included those in my build but i burned out all lv 11+ feats on the shadow hand tree, I was looking for a substitution of Martial discipline or some sort of stuff.

Suggestions requested and appreciated;

Currently my character's build is Feyri, LA 2/Favored Soul 20/????????//Champion 6/Dawnguard 5/Frostfell Maven 10/Fashionista 3
I could go Fashionista during the 20 levels where Bab is tracked and lose 2 less, but I rather value the castle building and immortal frostruler aspect of having finished Frostfell Maven at game start.
Most of the items and feats and such have naturally fallen into place. I just have absolutely no idea what to do with the 2 non-prestige epic levels left to fill out.

AmberVael
2023-11-16, 05:51 PM
Well, the obvious solution would be to go Favored Soul 22. You'd need an epic progression, but it means not adding any kind of dip (and also potentially getting tasty epic feats).

Potentially you could also slot in a +2 LA template. Half-fey (fiend folio) is a favorite of mine, and could be tied into Fey'ri flavor without too much difficulty.

A more peculiar option, and one I am a bit more dubious of the value of, would be Elven Paragon. (https://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/races/racialParagonClasses.htm#elfParagon) A Fey'ri does have the elf subtype, so you'd qualify. But I dunno if there's anything there you'd really want.

Zarthrax: Lets be clear, we've got different levels of what constitutes abuse, and I'd say being able to grab a class feature as severe/iconic as Sneak Attack casually with some level of non-commitment counts. I'd rather keep a solid yes/no on what you want now than have to deal with it mid-game.

Feat approved.

Triskavanski: I'm find with Improved Returning. Cap feels clunky, as does the ball. This is reaching a point of gimmick instead of trope, in my eyes.

Chambers: Hmm. Gross! I already have a Scribd account so I never noticed. Here's a google drive copy. (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bkToZIhaJB77XrCzde8xdo9TVmHVUnFQ/view?usp=drive_link)

Aldurin: Wild concept. I love it.

Regarding Requests:
Awakened Raven tentatively approved? Get me the stats on that, but I don't see any real issue.
Prisms component feels too thematic for Firekeeper to really let it go as a requirement. How else could we get you into this class without that specific kind of change, while still using Companion illuminations? Is there an elemental equivalent of Prisms we can do for Companions?
I'd want to classify it as an Epic feat, but we can talk. Do you have a formal proposal you can write?
God, what is your memory. Yes, totally fine.

Talivan: Don't try and skirt the no swearing rule of the playground, please. I'll allow you you swap take Shadow Hand as a Warblade if you trade it for Diamond Mind, Iron Heart or Tiger Claw.

Escheton: Epic Favored Soul is my vote.

and sorry about the no swearing rule, not that familiar with it, just retaking the forums after a long time of absence.

I've narrowed down my build a little and decided what to do with all those sorcerer levels. What I've settled on is a Sorcerer 5/Abjurant Champion 5/Divine Oracle 10/Argent Savant 4//Knight Champion 24. Currently, the deity connected to the Divine Oracle bit is Sartulk, so I would theme it more in the dreaming direction and pulling knowledge from those who dream in his halls, etc. I dunno, obviously I don't know anything about the lore beyond the opening post but it grabbed my attention.

Lyra does four things, basically: Fight as a mobile, semi-AoO/lockdown focused character that supports the party via auras. 2. Use magical force to achieve 1 with spells like mage armour and thunderlance. 3. Use other force spells or conjured weapons. 4. Divine things.

Sheet (https://www.myth-weavers.com/sheets/?id=2852991) is very much WiP. Still have to fill in my skills + spend the rest of my WBL, etc.

Those who dream in the halls of Sartulk sleep without disturbance of wakefulness, save spells of resurrection. The dead do not speak. They lie there, awaiting the end of an era... but they do dream, and some can listen to such things. One of those rare dream oracles is Lyra Calantar. Once a proud mage-knight, the last, greatest daughter of the old House Calantar, she was struck down by a dragon's claws. A travelling cleric, a humble man who had naught but a rough robe and a pair of sandals to his name and only the barest magic, tried to save her. She spent a week flitting between death and life, a week on the edge between this world and the dreaming halls.

When she returned she found she had left a little part of herself behind. She could hear the whispers of the dreamers, telling her of things that had been and things that were yet to come...

Well tropes are a series of gimmicks. But the cap and ball weren't important at all, just stupid things I came up with to feed into the whole jester ideal.

Escheton: Epic Favored Soul is my vote.

Yeah, but there doesn't seem to be one. And reverse engineering it seems to result in effective dead levels.
Besides +2 energy resist and +2 caster levels that is. But the caster levels don't do much given the Practiced Spellcaster the Level Adjustment from Fey'ri motivates one to get. Or, it opens up the feat, but actually costs 2 caster levels in return.
It's very counter intuitive.

God, what is your memory. Yes, totally fine.

1. I'll try for a direct deconstruction.
Creature Type: Magical Beast (Augmented Animal)
Size: Tiny (nonhumanoid form)
Ability Scores: -8 Str, +4 Dex, +4 Wis, -2 Cha
Speed: 10 ft Land, 40 ft Fly (average)
Claws: Awakened Ravens get a natural claw attack that deals 1d2+Str damage.
Special Qualities: Low-light vision.
Special: Awakened Ravens gain Weapon Finesse as a bonus feat, regardless of whether they meet the requirements.

(By RAW the Awaken spell would also impose +2 Racial HD to this. I'm not eager for that but if you want it applied anyway I'll roll with it.)

2. I don't understand what you're asking for since the Attuned component is what you're describing.
3.
Intrinsic Ember (Epic)
Requirements: Firekeeper 4th level, Firebender 21st Level
Benefit: One's understanding of flames begins to expand beyond normal boundaries, entangling a spark of the bonfire ritual within their command of natural flames. The Primal Spark and Undying Flame abilities from the Firekeeper class now also apply to any firebending forms that deal fire damage.

Extra Request I should have Made: Will their Evoker Device be considered incompatible with their anatomy for use as a weapon without magical accommodations?

Now, I know you said for Monk, to look at Unarmed Swordsage or Tashalatora. However, I would like to request Quellian-Dyrae's Monk (https://forums.giantitp.com/showsinglepost.php?p=17860318&postcount=2), part of his series of Chi classes. The character would be a roving "Doctors without Borders" type, with his immense personal mobility allowing him to move as fast as an airship. These are the Specialties I would be looking at specifically:

Way of the Dancing Foot [Monk, Ninja] (Ex): You have chosen to specialize in speed and mobility.

The first time you gain this Specialty, you may ignore difficult terrain and charge through squares occupied by allies and noncombatants.

The second time you gain this Specialty, you can move up to half your speed as a 5' step (only for a normal 5' step on your turn, not for other effects that provide 5' steps), treat standing jumps as running jumps, and can roll a Jump check to leap the indicated distance as a swift action. You may also move freely over any solid or liquid surface, regardless of its orientation or ability to hold your weight, without any reduction of speed or damage from contact, although you must end your turn on a surface capable of supporting you normally.

The third time you gain this Specialty, you can change direction freely while running and charging, and you may move in any direction freely; your range of movement is functionally equivalent to flight. However, you must still end your turn solidly supported, or you will fall. When moving and attacking, you may move before, after, or between any attacks you make, dividing up your normal movement for the round as you wish (though this still only counts as one instance of movement for mechanics based on such).

The fourth time you take this Specialty, you are constantly affected by Freedom of Movement and Air Walk.

Additionally, if you have at least four HD, then for each time you take this Specialty, your speed in all movement modes increases by 10', and your speed multiplier for running increases by 1.

Way of the Gentle Hand [Monk] (Su): You have chosen to specialize in your healing talents.

The first time you gain this Specialty, you gain Rapid Recovery - you remove nonlethal damage equal to your Spirit modifier every round, and you can use Healing Chi out to Close range.

The second time you gain this Specialty, your Rapid Recovery becomes Quick Healing - as Fast Healing, but only while below half hit points. You may also dispel magical effects using Healing Chi, following the same rules as removing or imposing conditions. This costs 25 points of Chi Healing, and requires a check pitting 1d20 + your Chi against a DC of 10 + the caster level of the effect. You can remove any effect that could be removed by Dispel Magic.

The third time you gain this Specialty, your Quick Healing becomes Fast Healing, and by spending 50 points of healing, your dispel can remove effects that could be removed by Break Enchantment. Additionally, by doubling the cost in points of a healing attempt, you can provide healing as a swift action. Further, you can heal multiple targets at once; you must spend healing points for each target, but you spend only one action, and receive a separate cap for each target. You can't affect the same target more than once in the same action.

The fourth time you gain this Specialty, your Fast Healing becomes Regeneration, overcome by attacks with an alignment opposed to your own (if you are neutral on an axis, choose which alignment of that axis overcomes your Regeneration), your dispels can remove effects that can be removed by Greater Restoration or Limited Wish, and when you restore hit points with Chi Healing, you may also remove an equal number of points worth of conditions.

Additionally, if you have at least four HD, then for each time you take this Specialty, your Chi Healing multiplier increases by 1 (if you do not already possess Chi Healing, you gain it, but it only has the multiplier gained from these Specialties).

I also found my old character from the first thread (https://og.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=321027) and am considering touching him up.

Edit: I would like to expand on why I'm requesting QD's Monk. I love the mobility aspect. No other class can capture the concept of being able to dash across the battlefield with pure (Ex) speed. I also know it steps on the toes of the Healer revision you posted, and I hope you don't begrudge me that. The Chi aspect, sensing the waves of life, is also nice to be baked into the class. That opens up options during the apocalypse, being able to sense fluctuations in the life energy of the world/Incarnum (probably will gestalt Good Incarnate, but not Stupid Good in case he needs to work with an Evil character).

Updating table to reflect that I think my sheet for a Tibbit Binder/Spellthief is done!

Also, do you prefer backstories and character descriptions posted in this thread or included as part of the sheet? I tried to go epic with the background; please let me know if I've violated setting lore, etc, or if I should be naming specific towns, people, ships, etc, in the description.

How does damaging an animated object effect the item they are animated from? Especially if the animation stat-block has less hit points than the item. For example, say someone animates a full plate.
Full plate for a halfling has 40 hp. A small sized animated object has 15hp. What happens after 15 hardness bypassing damage?

Is there a framework for epic progression on the Tome of Radiance classes that you're using? I need to figure out what epic Empath stuff will need to be accounted for.

Avoided custom items as I couldn’t think of anything all that interesting or useful that wouldn’t just boost what I had already, but think I got a very rough idea for something

Blindfold of Enhanced Selective Seeing

A Blindfold of Enhanced Selective Seeing multiplies the increments between penalties from range on spot checks by three. This is a continuous effect and requires no activation.
In addition, the blindfold enables you to use and switch between the abilities described below as a move action.

(1) You can see 60’ through darkness, disguises, fog, and smoke.
(2) You can detect the location of a specific substance or object you have a clear mental image of within 90’.
(3) You gain immunity to effects that rely on sight, such as gaze attacks.

Cost: no clue

For the continuous ability, it’s a 150% better spyglass effect. For the first active ability, unless you count pf1e, which has things like ashen path, water sight, fogcutting lenses, and goz mask, as far as I’m aware there isn’t anything to see through fog or smoke other than special senses and I’m not aware of anything that sees through mundane disguises other than checks, so other than comparing it to the pf stuff dunno how to calculate its worth. The second part is just locate object with a nerfed range. Last one is better than Crystal of Bent Sight and detecting them without sight, but the former is 500 gp, latter as low as 0.

Could it be possible to get a wordmap and some geopolitical information? Been picturing my Frostmaven as having founded her own nation. As sort of naturally occurring around her as she's working through the trauma and madness of her home plane by making her own maze, her own rooms, but with intent, and logic and well, causality. And naturally, one thinks "frozen north" when no other world info is given, because most worldbuilders have one. And I think maybe that's where she started, long ago, and remnants and ruins and just entire cities now remain.
But her actual domain is smack in the middle of 2 (previously) warring nations, if possible in the desert used as natural border and killing fields between them. And now there is just a well fortified Fimbulwinter empowered line of refugee cities that would make the dwarves envy their construction.

Bonus question: does the Fey'ri innate stat boosting incarnum ability allow for feat prereq qualification? Like, if a feat needs 17 dex, and you have 15 without investing the incarnum, could you take the feat? With it just not working unless you invest it for the day, of course. Or is it too temporary an ability?

Additional bonus question: Can spontaneous casters use higher level spell slots (epic) for lower level spells without metamagics, or does one need heighten spell for that kind of versatility besides just the higher DC?

@Cardea

I plan on taking the Epic White Raven Feat that gives me (amongst other things) a Giant Raven (treat as 20hd advanced giant eagle that speaks).

My Questions are:

A. Would you allow me to combine this with the figurine of wondrous power (Silver Raven), allowing me to essentially store the raven when not in use (and therefore making it less cumbersome for play)?

B. Would you allow me to combine this with the Knight Champion Special Mount Feature? This would make it a 24HD equivalent Animal Companion, Slightly more survivable and combat able.

C. If the figurine idea is unpalatable, perhaps the reverse of the Knight Champion Talisman of Faith?

If I take these things are RAW, I would end up with two Giant Ravens (one from the epic feat, one from the Knight Champion Special Mount) and 1 normal raven (from the item). I prefer to make it as streamlined and convenient as possible without a menagerie of giant birds following me everywhere.

Sandraudiga, Tiefling Warlord 23 // Warlock 21/Uncanny Trickster 3 (https://www.myth-weavers.com/sheets/?id=2854661)

Personality
Sandraudiga is no stranger to the temptations of power, and as a consequence tends to restrain her own emotions and indulgences, causing her to look at others' vices with a mixture of scorn and envy. Being molded into a weapon in her youth led to her solving every problem with violence, an attitude she has tried to stamp down on but has been unable to erase; as a consequence, she is hesitant to exercise power on her own, despite being more than capable of seizing it by strength or influence alone. In person she is analytical and ruthlessly pragmatic, leading some to label her a cold fish despite her silver tongue. However, those closest to her recognize the passion that is always boiling under the surface, leading to intense loyalty and love, but also sometimes to outbursts of cruelty. She dreams of a future where she can simply act according to her own desires, but thinks that day will never come simply because she feels the consequences of those impulses strongly.

Description
A tall woman with ember-red skin and ebony horns curling upwards from shoulder-length, raven-black hair, Sandra cuts an imposing figure even before taking into account the pupil-less eyes glowing green with power or the black-feathered wings folded proudly across her back. Her smooth skin yet sharp features lend her an air of embittered nobility, an impression not contradicted by her usually arched brows and the firm cast to her jaw and lips. Her few smiles tend to be cruel ones let loose in the heart of battle, as at most other times her iron self-control limits her to mere quirks to show amusement or derision. Sandra disdain foppish finery but still rarely is without one of her well-pressed and tailored uniforms, though she tends to cover them with a battered brown coat, and of course in true battle will don the midnight robes of her magic at a moment's notice. Her voice is clear and commanding, her diction precise and her manners normally impeccable, though many a soldier's hide has been tanned simply by the rough side of her tongue and the various epithets she tends to use in battle.

Background
To the nation of Elthan, Sandraudiga the Red Commander is one of the country's oldest advisors, its general in times of war, its protector in times of peace, and an undying seneschal to the royal line. To its neighbors, the Painter of Red Sands is a butcher of legend, a tamed monster whose exploits of the past make overtures of peace in the present hard to take seriously for those who know their history. But Sandraudiga was not born either of these things. She was born a small, sickly, mutant girl in a mountain village, on what would be future Elthan's northern border. She was born to Eltheral, daughter of the chieftain, and to no father of this plane. For Eltheral would visit an endless maze of wonders in her dreams, and in them she met a beautiful red-skinned man who doted on her ... until her child was born, and Eltheral could no longer dream. For Sandraudiga's father had no more use for her.

Still, her earliest years were happy ones. Her mother loved her with the fierceness of one with nothing else to love, and despite Sandra's weakness and deformity, Eltheral's father would brook no impingment on his honor, so they were left largely alone in a cottage outside of town. She helped her mother tend goats and gardens, and frolicked in mountain fields during the day even as she explored an endless maze of wonders in the night. But when she found a handsome red-skinned man on an abandoned throne, her life took a darker turn. Colors of the day were muted; her mother's eyes turned jealous and sad when Sandra shared her adventures in the Labyrinth. And soon, Sandra would not share, because her adventures turned bloody; the man made a game of teaching her to fight, at first, but when they finally ventured further and met others, the lessons turned all too real as the man pushed her to end their lives. Cringing frog-people, glowing bird-men with wings, even some with red skin and horns like hers; she slew them all, reluctantly at first but then numb to their pain, and her own. She would wake up screaming, then wake up crying, then wake up dry-eyed and unsmiling, until one day she woke up and was still in the Labyrinth, bound to it by blood.

Her time in Labyrinthium was marked only by violence, first at the red-skinned man's urging, for by now she knew who her father was, but later against him as she realized their blood did not actually bind her to him as he had told her. By spilling his blood she learned his name, Deshret, and learned to banish him but never kill him. He haunted her for what must have been decades, until she was found by a survey party of some sort, who took her for simply one of the plane's demons at first. The adventurers nearly killed her, but she was able to barter herself as a guide for the chance to leave the endless corridors and find her mother at last. When she returned to the sun once more, she wept tears of fire, for her body had been changed even further as she was wounded and healed over and over in the corrupted plane. She made her way home through hostile lands, and when she finally darkened her mother's doorstep once more, it was to find her a grandmother, having married and had a new family in Sandra's absence. Their tearful reunion was awkward but blissful, and though her new family feared and hated her, Sandra would have happily stayed there and worked to gain her life back after the hell she'd been trapped in.

It was not to be, as the barbarian tribes to the north of the mountains had banded together into a conquering nation. Their army swept by the mountain, and Sandra's village was beset by raiders on their way south. Her people were not warlike, but seeing them under attack awoke a bloodlust in Sandra that would only be sated by the blood of the invaders, and raising her people up to be as strong as her. Using the strength of her blood and magic, she at first fell upon the invaders herself, and then led the villagers to vengeance, teaching them the lessons of paranoiac strength she'd learned in Labyrinthium. After repelling the invaders, her new fighting force fell from the mountains on the barbarians' supply chain, eating them up from behind and gathering survivors from other villages into a true army. In what seemed like no time at all she was at the head of a massive amount of soldiers who'd had enough of northern encroachment, and she proved adept at convincing them to vent their rage at her command. The barbarians were first stopped, then pushed back, then chased into the shadow of the mountains, where Sandra's newfound army slaughtered them to the last man. But afire with rage at the invasion, she led her new people north into the barbarians' own homeland, to slaughter their own tribes and smallfolk, to burn the fields and salt the earth in vengeance for all they'd lost. The barbarians' homeland, before a barren series of steppes, was systematically eradicated, down to the last of the tribes they could find, until only a wasteland remained, one whose sands glowed red in the unforgiving sun. Sandraudiga was the proud architect of those red wastes at the time, and returned home to forge a kingdom out of her army, to unite what before had been only scattered villages and tribes, but found her mother had taken ill and died in her absence. In memory of her, and in grief for what she'd lost, Sandra raised her niece Earasa, Eltheral's granddaughter, to the throne of the new nation, vowing to safeguard her family forever after.

It has been centuries since that day, and Elthan has grown into a thriving nation, stretching from mountains in the north to the seas in the south, with the Red Wastes to their north never settled again. In that time, Sandraudiga has mellowed as she has seen the successes her family has struggled with, their ability to eke out prosperity for their people with trade and cooperation instead of the blood and death that were Sandraudiga's tools. In the time of her great-great-grandnephew Edgtho's reign, they were invaded once more, this time by a "crusade" from the archipelago to the west, and Sandra again took to the field to lead Elthan's newly-built navy against the threat, but found that her brutal tactics only made the enemy fight harder. On the brink of ordering a full-scale invasion of the archipelago, King Edgtho was able to instead maneuver around her and broker a peace, preventing both the invaders and the Elthans from gruesome deaths at sea and land. Sandra, at first furious, instead took it as a wake-up call to change her ways, realizing she had brought too much of the Labyrinth's kill or be killed mentality back with her, and that her mother would never have countenanced such bloodthirst. Since then, Sandra has striven to hold herself in check, at times even taking sabbaticals from her duties in order to clear her head and travel the world, though she keeps Elthan's wellbeing always at the forefront of her mind.

Oh, and a homebrew edit request regarding sanctioned homebrew: Could the Tome of Radiance class Champion get Survival as a class skill? It's a prereq for Frostfell Maven, but of the 3 ToR classes, only the Factotum-like one has the skill in class. An oversight I suspect, and currently causing some build-stress on my end.

So... I'm not sure I'll finish a second concept by the deadline; make this post a low priority to respond to.
But I just had the idea of playing a character whose body was stolen who's trying to claw his way back to the material plane. Are any of the following allowed?

The Ghost template
The Vivacious template
Taking the Psion Uncarnate prestige class and asking you for an epic Uncarnate progression
The Phantom template (Requires you to set the level adjustment)

That feels more like a mid level concept. When you can afford a true resurrection or 100 potions of simulacrum, this seems like a difficult concept to stay true too. Just, logistically. Interested to see it work, tho. Sounds like a fun writing exercise.

Given the nature of this particular game, I think it's a concept that could work. After all, True Resurrection, Wish, and Plane Shift are on the banned spells list. My understanding is that the banned spells aren't an exhaustive list but rather to give us an idea of what level of narrative-influencing abilities we should be striving for our characters to possess. Thus, a lot of the spells and powers that would simply solve the issue with a single cast aren't there to solve the issue.

In a normal Epic 3.5 game with Epic Spellcasting and all that on the table? Yeah, you could solve it within a few minutes of the start of game play with the abilities on your team's character sheets.

Whether it's really a good fit for this game though would be entirely up to Cardea.

You could do lucha without the grappling. Just throw people with Setting Sun or turn into a ball and smack into people with your body.

Fair, this seems more an epic version of E6, where the major world breaking god-killing exponential scaling is mitigated, but you still operate on that Avengers macro scale instead of Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Monk. Finding that balance point would be easier, and you get to add the epic scale of "I crossed oceans of time to find you", Dracula enduring beyond death for Mina and such onto the character that just doesn't ring right at mid levels. True.

(Added to the list in the spoilers. Backstory in the google doc, the template for which I took from AmberVael.)

Glad you are okay, Cardea. An internet outage usually isn’t as serious as other reasons for being offline.

Edit: Is it possible to get an epic progression made for a hex blade? I recall you offering before, but at the time I was going with the lizard man. But as you advised that is powerful I want to avoid it. I am going with my fey’ri, which gives me two epic levels to advance. Thanks in advance.

I've mused over what I could do/use for such a game and I think I finally have something in mind. Posting interest.

Question for the DM, can we just use the normal class instead of the ACF presented?
kind of prefer the original Favored Soul to the remake.

Hey all! I have some time coming up to actually play in a game, and I think this would be a fun opportunity for me to do just that.

I have an idea for a gestalt character I've tried to play before, but will put a new spin on it with these classes: the Ultimate Archer, an adventurer for hire who specializes in making absolutely ridiculous long shots.

(Like, has sniped a target through a continent before long)

Is the Energy Bow item going to be available? I can't find the link at the moment, but I will track it down.

Okay, some actual concepts:

1) The Chosen of Acaragos: a character designed around adapting to literally any danger, often with dangerous physiognomic changes. Likely Druidic in bent, but with a decidedly martial focus. Think Crawler from Worm or Darwin from X-Men, whose natural defenses come back stronger and specifically adapted to the thing that hurt them. There would likely be a template request or two here, to make something monstrous in a fun way. The Polymorph rules changing make this one a bit trickier, but I can manage: I may ask to use Warshaper as well. I would likely request the Spellwarped template on one side.

2) The Vivsector of Miracles: a stark misotheist, a spellcaster cursed with knowledge who actively disdains all form of divinity and seeks to carve open gods and disenchant their mystery. Not someone on the path to apotheosis themselves - that would be aggrandization of the most offensive sort - but who is looking to share this knowledge with the cosmos to prevent what they perceive to be a divine stranglehold on agency. Somewhere between Arachne Tellwyrn and the Hierophant from Guide. Archivist 21 / Human Paragon 3 // something, I want to make the second side a bit more interesting.

3) The Astral Diva: more of a meme concept honestly, but someone who pursuers rocker immortality of the 'they will remember my name' sort. As chaos begins to fall around the multiverse and disasters stack up, they are obsessed with reaching the greatest possible audience, of tapping into magical forces to create the most epic concert of all time. But for that, they need a cool band. Definitely a Bard, likely with Heartfire Fanner and/or that one Bard PrC that brings you up to 9th level spellcasting.

Since the deadline was extended, I'd like to try and submit a character.

1 - Regarding the deities, do we have some leeway regarding aligment, domains, favored weapons and other relevant information? Or are we supposed to be asking for that information?

For example, Vei seems like a chaotic good deity, and it's safe to say it has sun and travel as it's domains. But what is it's favored weapon? would it also have other domains like fire, chaos, good, fate, liberation, courage and war?

2- Would the serenity feat work with Smite Opposition from Knight Champion (https://forums.giantitp.com/showthread.php?304306-3-5-Knight-Champion-Fighter-Knight-Samurai-Paladin-fix&p=16056437)?

3 - The "We are using Krimm's Epic ToB Expansion: [A] [B] [C] (https://forums.giantitp.com/showthread.php?122190-More-Epic-Martial-Adept-Feats-Epic-3-5-Feats)" Link C mentions 3 new disciplines (Dread Crown, Golden Saint and Oncoming Storm). Are those available?

Seeing the suggestion that with this many Warlock applicants a more varied application might be beneficial, I decided to make a second app, which I believe was okayed. So here is Cap'n Ezra (https://www.myth-weavers.com/sheets/?id=2858297), a mind flayer airship pirate captain with a heart of ... well, a lust for gold instead of brains, anyway.

https://i.pinimg.com/564x/f4/57/fb/f457fb0d0d549a591eeee5555d3ce4cf.jpghttps://i.pinimg.com/564x/dc/05/eb/dc05eb5691b83394723fb44d92bd8996.jpg
Eztlixihuitl, Lesser Illithid Wilder 5/Cognition Thief 10/Slayer 9 // Swashbuckler 20/Swordsage 2

Description
Taller than most humanoids but shorter than many of his kind, Eztlixihuitl comports himself as a pirate king, his garb a mixture of stolen luxury thrown together with a practical sailor's eye. His softly glowing eyes are expressive despite their lack of pupils, perhaps because of the subtly more human cast to his face, but the tentacles curling and twining in place of his chin leave no doubt as to what he is. Hairless gray skin, rubbery and moist, is crisscrossed with scars and tattoos gained over the years. His telepathic voice is deep and commanding, and he much prefers to use it as his actual voice sounds wet and scratchy, but he can make both of them boom with authority. He moves with such a fluid grace that the speed of his actions barely registers until after he has already swept far away.

Personality
Ezra is something of a contradiction, a hedonist illithid possessed of a sense of empathy. His natural inclinations are to see other sapient species as thralls or prey, yet his partial memories of being one, as well as his experiences at the bottom of Void society, make him too guilty to indulge in the pleasures of true domination or brain consumption merely for his own pleasure. Sublimating his gluttonous urges elsewhere, he instead fixates on the material wealth he was denied, and physical and emotional companionship he lacked. Though he would deny possessing anything so restrictive as a code, he is a creature largely ruled by emotions that themselves push him towards a respect for autonomy and choice, though in a uniquely illithid way. And, of course, those who mark themselves as acceptable targets by dint of betrayal or malice will quickly find all their choices removed and often forced to die by their own hand.

Background
The product of a mildly botched ceremorphosis, Eztlixihuitl was born with the fragmented memories of the human man Feald whose brain was consumed in the process. Among the Byveg enclave, this was a sign of weakness, and as such Eztlixihuitl was relegated to a bare short step above a thrall himself as his fellow illithids continued in their schemes for the enslavement of the rest of the Void. Denied the education most flayers received, or the sustenance of any but sickened or diseased brains, his psionic powers were as malnourished as his frame. On the great nautiloids that his enclave traveled the Void with, he found his human memories left him with a desire for true kinship, a feeling he found only with the subjugated races kept on board. He was denied the use of thralls, but as a flayer himself could recognize when his kindred were asserting control, and made a game of interacting with humanoids at times where their thoughts were at least partially their own. The game became deadly serious when Xadrivax, a lieutenant aboard his home ship, discovered that Eztlixihuitl was flouting illithid laws to gain the use of unearned thralls. Eztlixihuitl became an outlaw on his ship, but for once his undisciplined nature worked in his favor: his emotional manifestations lacked the versatility of his compatriots', but were given more power by his desperation and anger, while those he had enthralled knew him as a friendlier master and were less likely to fight his commands.

The nautilus erupted in a civil war, and when it seemed Eztlixihuitl and his thralls would gain the upper hand finally, other ships were alerted. Xadrivax fled across the Void to another Nautilus, and they opened fire on Eztlixihuitl's stolen ship, deeming it better destroyed than in the hands of rebellious thralls and a partialized upstart. Eztlixihuitl was able to gather the thralls into escape pods, launching under cover of the ship's explosion and landing on one of the few islands in the Void along with the surviving humanoids. They eked out a miserable existence there subsisting on what little flora grew, and the remnants of flesh stores they had been able to salvage. They were lean and starving when the ship bearing planar explorers made landfall months later, but Ezra (as the crew had taken to calling him, since his full name was a mouthful) had in the meantime been building loyalty and training his crew to function as a unit, and combined with his own powers they made short work of the mercenary guard. Thus did Cap'n Ezra's second attempted commandeering actually succeed. He offered the new prisoners the choice of being marooned as they were (with enough stores for a few months, at least), or joining his crew voluntarily, for though he had used his mental powers in the fight, he found controlling unwilling minds distasteful and promptly released them.

Christening their new ship the "Cerelean", they departed the lifeless rock and followed the explorers' charts back to the Material plane, where the chances of hostile flayers attempting to reclaim them were far lesser. In possession of a flying ship, with a distrust of any but their own crew and their creepy but benevolent (to them) master, they became sky pirates, hitting mostly small targets of opportunity and comporting themselves with just enough restraint to avoid a concerted effort to take them down. After all, if you kill someone, you can't steal whatever they make in the future, and you can't ever convince them (or their friends!) to join your budding harem of crew-thralls. Viewed as a dangerous but relatively minor threat, few realize exactly how powerful "Cap'n Ezra" has become off the conflicts with his own kind and with the willing compliance of his thralls, a state of affairs the crew of the Cerelean are just fine with. As for Eztlixihuitl, he schemes to one day have his own fleet of crew-consorts, and one of the few targets of importance he goes after with any regularity are places where new skyships are being built. The lure of gold and its creature comforts is enough to keep him satisfied in the interim

... or at least, it was, until everyone went on high alert as the time of troubles began. Now faced with a threat to the Material plane they'd made their new home, having lost crew to supernatural storms and would-be tyrants thinking the Cerelean would be an easy target to suborn to gain a valuable vessel of air superiority, Ezra and his crew are on the lookout for ways to make things calm down so they can go back to their more comfortable raiding lifestyle. For the first time, they've been seeking out trouble instead of being it themselves, and though they act as mercenaries and privateers, enough of the crew have a stake in the world that Ezra is concerned enough to look for solutions.

Between travel plans and boothing at PAX Unplugged I've been tethered away.

Will close submissions Dec 11th, choose players by the 15th.

Here we go. If I miss your question, please let me know.

Escheton: We can get creative with an Epic Favored Soul. Up to you.

RAW, an object like that becomes ruined/destroyed, IIRC.

Further world information will be provided after selection. Temp qualifying for stuff like that is a rat's nest of problems, and is the kinda stuff I would prefer to avoid. And you need Heighten Spell for that kind of versatility, or other metamagic in general.

I generally don't like doing small edits like that to classes, but you present an interesting case. Approved.

Aldurin:

Regarding Requests:

Awakened Raven makes sense.
Ah, my bad. Then we're good to go.
I accept Intrinsic Ember.
It would depend on how you flavor the device, I suspect, but let me know if I'm missing anything.
AFAIK, there is not, but we can work out an epic Radiant progression.

Chambers:

Regarding Requests:

Bending Progressions make sense to me. Approved.
Epic Bending Feats make sense to me. Approved.

Thokk_Smash: The issue is that you're not just asking me to look at just a class, you're asking me to look over an entirely new system and judge how it works; a system that also tries to handle two other classes that I already have revisions for, which causes innate friction. If this is what you really want, I'll review and get back to you soon, but this is a lot to look over.

Cassus: If backgrounds are in the sheet, they're easier to find and read through.

No to templates, no to Psion Uncarnate. This feels less like a high fantasy hero and more like something genre swapping.

Dakrsidder: The Blindfold feels like you're just trying to achieve Blindsight/Blindsense, but with more steps?

DM_Danger:

Regarding Requests:

No; cumbersome is part of having a companion, and I don't want to bypass that, especially when its not that big of a deal.
Write a feat, and we'll talk.
No.

Aegis013 + Escheton: Y'all flatter me, thanks for understanding my aim.

paradox26: I can figure something out. I didn't advise that its powerful, I commented that it goes hard. It seemed cool.

Nightraiderx: No. Its the redux or nothing.

Triskavanski: What you're really asking for is if punching daggers can count as Tiger Claw weapons, yes? Yes.

3SecondCultist: I'm familiar with the Energy Bow. Its fine to use. Be aware that someone is explicitly doing an archer concept, so this would be an instance of player selection friction.

As for your concepts: Templates have largely been denied, so reliance on one is an ill-pursuit. With the second one, it could be interesting: gods are monsters which are attributed and worshipped for what iconography people give them. It could also bleed into some cosmology study, as some planes of existence are monsters still, and some are notoriously hard to get to. With the third, to quote a friend, "games aren't srs business, but please take it seriously."

Arael666: You have leeway with alignment, domains, and favored weapons, but I reserve veto right if you do something that I think is way out of scope of a deity. Serenity would work to overhaul Knight Champion's Smite Opposition, and all other similar abilities mentioned in the feat. Those disciplines are available.

Cardea: Glad to hear from you!

Please don't worry about the 'brew I asked for. I was deluding myself into hoping you could look at just the one class, but of course not because that one class's chassis has a system-changing addition to it. It'd take too much of your time and distract you far too much.

I'll stick with my submission from the last time, Zarel Khuldar (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VGVqprDwoJQqwUSIP7m_xXbAIf78dPWG2-IsLKuHJHo/edit#gid=0). Although, he is a firebender, and now Aldurin is putting in a submission with a firebender, so that might hurt my odds of getting in, lol.

Edit: Plus I need to customize his weapons/equipment better to make them more unique.

Okay, I think I may do the archer anyway since I have a concept that I think will be fun at this level. I will keep the Energy Bow as a good starting point for the weapon.

If I wanted to play an Ardent, would I be able to use the Substitute Powers ACF to customize a few mantles? Some of them are thematically relevant, but would be missing out on powers due to your bans on specific spells (Teleport, Plane Shift, etc) so would need that ACF to at least keep them at 10 powers. I would like to be Dominant in the Fate mantle, with some focus on the Time, Death, and Repose mantles as well.

The concept is a legendary hunter who has sworn themselves to Sartulk, to all the Sleepless who have cheated death or evaded the Keeper of the Halls through some supernatural means. Basically a hunter of immortal beings, specialized in search and destroy in service of incredibly powerful and dangerous entities. Please let me know if the choice of deity (and the mantles above) are appropriate for Sartulk.

Glad you're still here. Basically yeah, which ever way to make it so the tiger claw MIC items count as Tiger Claw weapons. Now to build a character who has the same features granted to them sooo many times.

Spot stuff, mundane disguise foil, and specific thing detection not so much, but otherwise pretty much. Do already have blindsight, but this does extend a bit further. I threw it together in boredom though; can disregard it.

Neat, here's the Earthbender (https://www.myth-weavers.com/sheets/?id=2855193) then.

I'm a little unclear on using the Golem form. Here's what I think happens, please let me know if I'm reading the text wrong.

My Earthbender forms a Golem, rolls a 10, and gets a result of 69. The DC was 15 so I've surpassed the DC by 54. According to the Augment I raise the level of the Golem by 1 for every 4 points above the DC. 54 / 4 is 13.5 so the Golem is a 14th level Golem.

The Golem uses my values for Hit Dice, HP, Initiative, and Saves; so it gets 24d10 HD, my Hit Points, Initiative bonus, and saving throws. It gets Full BAB at +24 and has my stats.

I can choose a number of Menu A traits equal to its level plus one, so 15 Menu A traits (and can trade those up for B and C menus).

A little late to the party, but hopeful to get something together by the 10th, so coming in with a few questions. I'm interested in a Favored Soul/Empath of Grikanth -- a versatile, ancient wanderer who can't quite tell where stories he's collected stopped and things he did began.

Three main questions: for the favored soul remake, there are 7 domains picked out. I've identified magic, madness, mind, dragon, and knowledge as being pretty appropriate for Grikanth. Does that seem right? I'd put spell too but it doesn't work that well with Favored Soul. For the remaining two, some of Fate, Planning, Oracle, Mentalism seem in-line, but I wanted to check if I was missing anything obviously fitting.

Second, is the Immortal (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showpost.php?p=15051526&postcount=311) ToR prestige class by Snowfire reasonable?

Third -- one of the heart paths for Empath gives Exalted/Vile feats. I take it asking for particular ones is required, or are they flatly off the table?

Thanks!

The character of Death's Hound is coming together quite nicely overall. Right now the stub is Human Swift Hunter 20 / Fighter 4 on Side A, and Ardent 21 / Human Paragon 3 on Side B. Primarily a ranged striker, one who can see more or less anything and able to attack at absolutely ludicrous distances.

Some more questions for the build!

1) Would the Sniper's Shot spell (SpC 194) be able to apply to Skirmish as well as Sneak Attack? It's on the Swift Hunter spell list, so I would assume it carries over, just wanted to double check.

2) Could I use the Human Paragon's advancement of Spells per Day to instead advance a manifesting class (such as Ardent)? I thought it might be applicable, given humans' niche of overall versatility. I am still losing a manifester level overall, as appropriate.

3) For the Energy Bow, the base damage is 2d6 if unstrung, 1d8 if using any special ammunition. I assume that base damage is in play for Favored Enemy? The extra die cap out at 8d6 for Colossal weapons, but I would have +5 size increases for my character's primary Favored Enemy (Arcanists). Following the rate of increase outlined on the weapon size chart, I assume that would go up to 10d6 base damage on the unstrung Energy Bow?

4) Addressing the earlier question about XP costs, would spells and powers that have XP costs be able to be paid in gold just like crafting items? There are a number of cool powers I want to use (none broken or on the banned list) that have a price tag as high as 1000 XP.

I just realized a lot of you are swearing yourself to different gods in some way, and that's neat, but its not needed. If you didn't want to necessarily tie your character to a god, you don't gotta.

Thokk_Smash: This might be rude but I'm awakening an old memory: is Zarel the submission that had me offput because you were talking about how you'd "hold back" until you needed to bring out the big guns? Or am I thinking of a different Firebender submission?

3SecondCultist:

Regarding Requests:
Yes, in the instance of when you're dealing with now incomplete Mantles due to bans, let me know what you'd like to put forth as a replacement. Lets talk.
This sounds appropriate, just let me know how you'd like to modify the Mantles.

Dakrsidder: It seems like a lot of effort for little benefit, is all.

Chambers: That sounds right.

Apogee1:

Regarding Requests:

You're going with a really obvious route with Grikanth with those first five. The last four aren't.
Immortal has a lot going on, and Snowfire's homebrew is always hit or wild miss. Are you certain you want me to read through it all?
Case-by-case basis of asking.

3SecondCultist:

Regarding Requests:

Yes.
Yes; I'm taking this as an instance of things not taking into account systems that aren't automatic.
Correct. The scaling for the energy bow's arrows starts at 2d6.
They will have something else to pay, to be discussed after selection.

Awesome, thank you. The concept is materializing quickly then. I'll have a character sheet by this evening.

The Mantles I want to take are Fate - as the Dominant Ideal - Death, Time, Repose, and Force as a final throwaway one as the means the character uses to kill things. I don't think any of them actually have any banned powers in their suites right now. However, all of them are short a few powers (they all have 7, Death has 8), and there are a few substitutions I want to make. I'd like to swap out Deflection Field in Force for Inertial Armor at the same level, for starters. I'll have more later.

Shezra "The Laughing Tiger"
Gnoll

Warblade 24 | Unarmed Sword Sage 5 / Invisible blade 5 / Tempest 5 / Bloodclaw master 5 / Uncanny Trickster 3 / Gnoll 1

Theme: Luchadora
Main Magic item: Tiger Set items from MIC

Has Scent from Race
HAs Scent from Bloodclaw Master
Might have scent from stance
might have scent from a feat

Can attack twice in spring attack or charge from Tiger Claw Magic item
Can attack twice in spring attack from Tempest Class
Can attack twice as standard action or at the end of a charge from Bloodclaw master.
Might have attack twice abilities from feat

Can Feint as a free action once per turn from Invisible blade.

Deals Sneak Attack for 3d6 with punching daggers from Invisible blade
Deals 1d6 extra damage (Technically not technically sneak attack) from Tiger Mantel.

Originally Was going to go Reaping Mauler, but the Garb of the Hunting Cat being some sort of Luchadora thing was too good. Especially since Freedom of Movement absolutely kills grapplers. Though might keep the juggler cat instead still.

I don't...think so? It's been the better part of a decade, so you may be remembering something I'm not, but I don't remember saying that. And on the off-chance I did, I don't intend him to be like that now.

No need to review Immortal then, I think I've been leaning away from it regardless.

The feats I want to ask about are:

Exalted (forming a set of Heart feats):

Nimbus of Light
Words of Creation
Exalted Spell Resistance
Sacred Vow

(If words of creation specifically is problematic, then I would ask for Holy Radiance)

Vile (forming a set as well, some of these are also Elder Evil Feats, if it matters):

Dark Speech
Filthy Outburst
Dark Whispers
Harvester of Souls

Domains ... I think then maybe Rune (at the intersection of magic and recording knowledge) and Competiton (all the gods are the victors of a grand one) might round out the selection.

Aldurin:
4. It would depend on how you flavor the device, I suspect, but let me know if I'm missing anything

Not anything I'm missing as far as I know. The evoker is always treated as proficient with their device, but doesn't go as far as to specify for edge cases like anatomy that is problematic for using conventional weapons. Current intent is to get a Tricky or Flexible device (flavored as some kind of extended blade that will act as a beak or talon accessory, either way a full-attack is gonna use a lot of full body spinning) and a Harmonious device (probably fluffed as a back-mounted magical device, bulky enough to be used for bonking in emergencies but meant primarily for the special action it provides to give more actions to the active Companion summon).

I do need a rules clarification for Imbuements: Does the maximum Imbuement count apply individually to each device/costume (as an Empath, selecting four for each), or does it apply collectively (the Imbuements from all devices added up can't be more than four)? I can't find wording that makes it clear which way this goes.

Cardea

3SecondCultist: I'd argue that Death and Time are not within Sartulk's wheelhouse.

Triskavanski: Why a Gnoll and pursue something like a Catfolk?

Thokk_Smash: Then I'm just confusing memories, then.

Apogee1: In the future, don't shotgun like this unless its necessary. This instance is barely necessary.

Regarding Requests:
Nimbus of Light is approved.
Words of Creation has already been disallowed.
Exalted Spell Resistance is allowed.
I'll only allow Sacred Vow if its followed by an actual Vow.
Dark Speech allowed; to avoid accidental updates, we use the version found in Fiendish Codex I.
Filthy Outburst allowed.
Dark Whispers allowed.
Harvester of Souls is not allowed.

Thunder999: Both are handled after selection but before game start.

Aldurin: If it specifies you're constantly proficient, then it could be something like a dagger on a sheath on your back, even. Long as it makes sense, then its good to go, IMO.

My interpretation was that it only applied only to what was currently active, or applying individually. The system relies on investment to get better effects, so making it only count collectively seems counter to that.

Triskavanski: Why a Gnoll and pursue something like a Catfolk?

Well for one, the race link you have doesn't really have catfolk. Its got tibbit, which is better for the juggler/clown character. And its a gnoll wearing the MIC hunting tiger set. The race link version of it, gnolls can also gain a free hunting tiger maneuver.

@Cardea, I've added a bit more to Zarel's 10-minute backstory.

I've also come up with an idea for a Tibbit Healer//Shadowcaster as a backup character. The premise (in the form of the first section of a 10 minute backstory) is as follows:

1) Ollie began life as a common housecat that was sucked into Jo'gri when a miniscule gateway appeared for less than a second in his home.
2) The time in Jo'gri distorted him into an approximation of a Tibbit (Wedded to History [Throwback] feat), then spat him back out through a Gateway into Labyrinthium.
3) In Labyrinthium, he was captured by a low-level celestial host and was almost killed on suspicion of being a fiendish spy. They thought this because Ollie's soul had been infected by shadow when he entered into Labyrinthium, and the celestial host in question was very trigger-happy, "smite first ask questions maybe" types.
4) A coatl named T'chiagri interceded and took Ollie in as a ward; if Ollie went bad, N'jiagri would kill him and face the consequences with the celestial host.
5) Ollie spent what felt like years in Labyrinthium, essentially earning his right to freedom by learning healing and supporting the celestial host as they fought their battles.
6) The celestial host kept changing the goalposts of when Ollie could leave, because he had become too important to the celestial host's actions. It became so egregious that T'chiagri agreed to run away with Ollie to the Material Plane
7) They managed to escape to the material plane, but with a group of celestials /and/ fiends chasing after them. It was only happenstance that a surge of wild magic threw the three groups thousands of miles away from each other, but still on the same plane. Ollie and T'chiagri are safe...but for how long?

Does that mesh with the planar cosmology of Jo'gri? It would be a one-in-a-trillion chance of happening, essentially a "Hurl through Hell" except the "Hell" is Jo'gri, and the only reason it happened is because it just happened to occur to a creature as small as a housecat. If not Jo'gri, would that premise work with any other plane? Maybe straight to Labyrinthium, and the nature of the temporary, tiny Gateway warps Ollie from a housecat to a Tibbit with a shadow on its soul?

Ember, Magpie of the Flames (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HPuJd2odn9OENYsewrpwhnUsCd73yNJbFRDnZMy50ys/edit?usp=sharing) is now complete enough for submission. I'm mainly holding off on finishing the radiant armaments and doing the bulk of spending until after selection, when custom items and effects will be prominent.

"I have found too many places of my past destroyed or changed beyond recognition during my recent travels, so I write this tome to prevent myself from taking my restored memories for granted. I am a magpie who has possibly outlived recorded history, and until recently I could only retain the most recent decade of events in my mind at any given point. I wish I could say that I was known by many names, given how often I forgot my own, but the strange truth is that everyone I met has called me Ember. The coincidence isn't too odd, as even when isolated from civilization for years I retained some small command over flame, but it is worth noting that this is an illusion of my personal continuity. When a friend's wish expanded my recollection centuries backwards I had to come to terms with the varied lives I had. Some of these facets of me were triumphant and glorious, and some were not. Judge me as you will, but it will not change how I have judged myself. My memories are not all restored, instead arriving in a slow march backwards through time. I do not know my origin at the time of writing this preface, but maybe by the end I will be able to inscribe it into the epilogue.
"Within these chapters I will elaborate on these major chapters of my lives, put into broad summary here.

"My most recent journey ended with Myren when she blessed me with my new one. A fearless devotee of Vei who stood strong in the face of cruelty and destruction, she struck down both immortal beings of innate evil as well as mortals who spent too long learning from them. I followed as her familiar, in the loosest sense of the definition, incinerating those who thought they had the upper hand over us. She broke herself in the many years of defending the helpless, accumulating scars until they choked her heart still. Her last act was to use a priceless scroll to end my cycle of forgetting, and I will forever regret that I could never meet her as my complete self. If you hear of me manifesting power beyond that of wind and flame, that can be attributed to the strange side effect of the wish that lets me draw forth my past more tangibly.

"Akendir taught me defiance and persistence many times over. She was a prodigy of arcane magic and psionics, but had no aptitude for the politics of those who run the schools that rejected her. With little resources for her studies she took drastic measures with herself as the test subject. A gross simplification of her research is that she designed artificial organs using psicrystals, only meant to provide new functions without having an organic analogue to replace. When she gained visible results the institutions that had scorned her previously suddenly called her aberration, and might have succeeded at killing her if I hadn't been at her side. So we spent a decades as outlaws, killing bounty hunters and 'proper' mages in scores while the crystals within Akendir grew like an infection. In retrospect I unknowingly stoked her anger at our hunters, and as her form became more crystal than flesh we razed several academies and destroyed unquantifiable knowledge. Our friendship ended between targets as we fled through tunnels, her condition finally allowing her no other intent than destruction against all including myself. I collapsed a mountain on top of her to serve as her grave, please do not try to find it.

"My happiest self was the one that traveled with Salatha. Dragons generally take humanoid forms to weave through civilization unnoticed, but she preferred a bird's-eye view. She initially mistook me for another of her kind, but found me to be pleasant company even after it became clear that I had nothing draconic about me. I lack the mating instincts of other magpies, but I do think what I had with Salatha was love in whatever unique form it was. We traveled together with no distinct goal or purpose in mind, but just to live. She even bestowed transmutations upon me so we could act as humanoid couples would. We indulged a staggering variety of food, had romantic dinners on many hillsides during sunset, even made a game of treading in other people's walks of life so we could understand them better. It tore her apart that I couldn't remember all our time together, that eventually I regarded our love more cheaply because I could no longer remember its absence. She waited until I forgot her lessons on the rules of Xorvintaal, then claimed she owed a debt to a player that needed her help with a difficult strategy. We split ways, with the promise we would meet again. Then enough time passed that I even forgot her, too, and wandered elsewhere. I know it now for the lie it was, but I still don't know if I should fault her for wanting to break away as gently as she could manage.

"Even with all I remember now I can easily assert that my time with Tellend was the most fun of all. They were a rebel and a con artist the likes of which the world will likely never see again. They held the norms of law, gender, status and wealth in low regard while they pursued their own amusement. The lessons I learned were those of the long game, of the best ways to defraud the privileged and safely gloat in the victory. Think of every place you could bring a corvid into without raising suspicion. Take a moment, then continue reading. I can say through experience that your list is incomplete, no matter how much you're stretching it. We made fools of emperors, spymasters, bank owners and high priests. We never held on to much of what we could steal, and I must have cumulatively incinerated a dragon's hoard of wealth to deny our victims that which we couldn't carry away. There was no one Tellend couldn't talk into filling the necessary role of their ruse, at least until a mindflayer in disguise read enough of the pawns to see an opportunity in exposing us. I was ready to die fighting in that moment, but Tellend did what they did best and tricked me into safety. A pouch with the leftovers of powedered sleeping poison does a lot to someone of my size, so I didn't regain enough sense to crawl out of it until Tellend had already been whisked away and executed. I hope wherever their soul went is still in chaos because of them.

"Illekka was a famous warrior of giants, if you know where to look then you can find what her enemies had to say about her. Civilization had come to the frontier, with the automatic pretense of anyone who already lived in said frontier not counting as people in the eyes of the new arrivals. Illekka had recruited me as a druid's faithful companion, only to be surprised when I contributed to the first battle against the settlers with flame and fury. What followed was years of glorious battle defending against the might of honed steel from distant forges, then the lie of the glory wore away. My flames were honed to be their strongest during this time, and were further informed by my eventual inability to remember anything but the war. I eventually lost control, striking anyone that my warped perspective called an invader. Illekka fought me in the middle of a crucial battle to put a stop to my rampage, and I killed her thinking I was punishing a betrayal. The moments following were enough to finally extinguish my rage, and I fled the continent in shame.

"My earliest recollections at the time of writing are of my journey with Kelder. I do not yet remember how I was recruited to aid the First Binder Witch Hunt, or what events led me to be paired with Kelder, one of the elites of the inquisition to destroy all vestige magic. It was ugly, all of it. I will hopefully have processed my damning role in that better once I begin to write the chapter in full. All I know is that our pocket of the war eventually lost, and the surviving binders that killed Kelder only chose to seal me away until my memory of that conflicted eroded away. The question of why they would do that, or how they even knew to do that, still haunts me.

"As to what I do with the present, I don't have a purpose beyond retracing steps and seeking the echoes of my long past actions. I try to keep a unified self and leave each place better than I found it, but I am a mess of conflicting old habits with not enough shelf space in my mind to organize them. To those who remember me in any of these incarnations I only have these things to say: Thank you, I'm sorry, or you got what was coming to you. Hopefully it's clear which one of those applies to your experience with me."

Closing doors to new interest or submissions. Will be reviewing starting now.

Well for one, the race link you have doesn't really have catfolk. Its got tibbit, which is better for the juggler/clown character. And its a gnoll wearing the MIC hunting tiger set. The race link version of it, gnolls can also gain a free hunting tiger maneuver.

Sure, but the intention that Edge put forth is to talk and discuss amongst players and DMs additional options/choices based on needs, not a be all end all.

Ah, dang, I was really liking the idea of a Tibbit that was a housecat that had to learn how to be a real boy.

Now to fiddle with Zarel's stuff anxiously while we wait.

Ah shoot, I guess I'll keep with the juggler character then.

If y'all got a submission you're nearing completion on, or have already discussed stuff with me about, feel free to finish and post.

I just want to curb anything new popping up.

To the person who messaged me, no, you're gucci, just complete the submission while I review everything.

I've finished all the mechanical stuff now. I have hundreds upon thousands of gold left but I'd like to save that for customising the airship (once I figure any of that out) and I haven't put down any spells since Druid and Wizard are both prepared casters anyway.

I'll link the sheet here again (https://www.myth-weavers.com/sheets/?id=342719) since I can't remember the last time it was linked or if there's even a table with the link in it.

I've added my second submission, Ollie, to the bottom of the list. He's done except for equipment and his level 23 feat, but I hope that's okay for now.

Edit: Also added Infernally Clay's sheet to the list and listed it complete.

I'm not withdrawing interest. But, with the long absence, I did lose focus on the character. So unless selected, will leave her as is for now instead of force things.

Sad to see players who are leaving.

Will close submissions Dec 11th, choose players by the 15th.

Selection day. I'm excited and hopeful. Good luck to all.

Please prioritize your health. I'd rather wait awhile if it means you're feeling better, Cardea.

Sorry to hear, that, Cardea. Glad you are well enough to come home.

I will withdraw my interest, as I never got a character fully built that I liked.

Just checking in. Once the personal issues and stress and expectations of an active recruiting thread have subsided, I for one would still be interested in telling this story.
And hope the best for all, especially the GM. Sounds like a streak of bad luck.
