well, i could basically make a second list with "older material", I think.

so, my Classical Top 10 (just because I discovered some albums in my collection that should've been up on my original list but I forgot them... perhaps I should've done a Top 20)[by classical I mean before I was born

no particular Order this Time:
Ton (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bf19qUxtUbo) Steine (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwE8dlRnsio&feature=related) Scherben (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jyzllFsrXw) - Keine Macht für Niemand (1972)

I don't really have an order, but I'll try to make a list.

Subway to Sally - Hochzeit.
Dream Theater - Scenes from a Memory.
Jethro Tull - Aqualung.
Jimi Hendrix Experience - Electric Ladyland.
Spiritual Beggars - Ad Astra.
Tracy Chapman - New Beginning.
In Flames - Whoracle.
RATM - Rage Against the Machine.
At the Gates - Slaughter of the Soul. On second thought, this could very well be Arch Enemy - Rise of the Tyrant. But I'll acknowledge the roots.
Jane - Together.

That's the ones I always seem to hear anyway.

I didn't place more than one album of one band because usually I just collect albums of one artist and like them for a very long time. And then there's a ton of artists where I like a lot of songs but the album doesn't hit me.

Oooh, tricky. I think this will be more of a Valadil's Top 10 Albums of 2007 than any attempt at a definitive list of the best music.

1. Blind Guardian - A Twist in the Myth
2&3. Rush - Moving Pictures, Snakes and Arrows
4. Moxy Fruvous - Bargainville
5. They Might Be Giants - Hello Radio
6. Pink Floyd - Animals
7. Buckethead - Welcome to Bucketheadland (yes, I knew about him before Guitar Hero)
8. Flogging Molly - Whiskey on a Sunday
9. Great Big Sea - Turn
10. Fallout Boy - Infinity on High (I didn't listen to the whole album that much, but Thnks fr th Mmrs was stuck in my head for the greater part of a year and was one of the only songs I'd listen to on repeat)

Lately my tastes have been turning more classical, but no one piece stands out yet.

crap stuff and Gorillaz

I commend your bravery for posting that but despise your actual opinions.

unless you're deliberately pulling the forum's collective leg

I wanted to only put down albums I've actually bought, but I only own 12 albums and many of them share artists so to save repition I won't limit myself.

Anyway, in no order:

1. Aqua Lung - Jethro Tull
2. Country Life - Show of Hands
3. Mara - Runrig
4. Turn of the Cards - Renaissance
5. Anything, anytime, anywhere (singles 1979-2002) - Bruce Cockburn
6. Meet you there - Oysterband
7. As far as I can see - The Zombies
8. Bothy Culture - Martyn Bennett
9. First Album - Rie Fu
10. Out in the Fields - Gary Moore

Oh well, I ended up putting things up there just because I owned them anyway, hence no 5 and 10 being compilation albums. I also realised how little I actually value the music I own.

Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles (I feel like a bad person for copying all the people that have said it so far, but it's just so damn good!)
Urban Comatose - KaW

7. Buckethead - Welcome to Bucketheadland (yes, I knew about him before Guitar Hero)

Ooh! Me too! Me too! I don't even own Guitar Hero; my mom's in love with Buckethead.

...I thought more people here were Beatlemaniacs like me.

1. The Beatles - Abbey Road. Yeah, I went there. Side two is just pure awesome.
2. Neil Young - Tonights the Night/On the Beach. I can't decide which. Side two of On the Beach is better than most of Tonight's the Night, but side one of On the Beach is a little weaker.
3. Rolling Stones - Let it Bleed
4. The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
5. The Who - Quadrophenia
6. Genesis - Foxtrot
7. Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blonde
8. The Beatles - Revolver
9. Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
10. Weather Report - Heavy Weather. I'm a bassist. If something with Jaco didn't make it on here, the bass gods would cut off my fingers. That, and the album is the epitome of Jazz fusion.

I'm so sorry White Album and Magical Mystery Tour... I wanted you, I wanted you so bad it's driving me mad, it's driving me - BAH BAH BAH BAH (Boo dee dooo dee doo!) Maaaad!

...They're in the list too, in spirit.
