So how do you get control panel notifications to actually work?

I have my settings set to auto subscribe to all threads by control panel only, and I've never gotten a notification.

I have my settings set to auto subscribe to all threads by control panel only, and I've never gotten a notification."Through my control panel only" means there is no notification, the thread's just listed in the subscription section of the control panel (https://forums.giantitp.com/subscription.php) (which it seems is only supported on the desktop skin, not the mobile skin)...which I guess might be useful if you want to check a bunch of threads across different subforums in one place? You'd need a subscription with one of the e-mail options to get a notification, I believe.

Damn it'd be great if the interface told you that "send me notifications through my control panel" means "don't send me notifications"

The notifications are sent to your control panel, just have to go to your control panel to check your notifications.
