Playable Races

Hello!

I have the RedBlade 3.5e character generator on my laptop, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Last night I wanted to add some extra races drawn from the monster list, so I went over to d20srd.org to see what they had listed. These are the ones I added; Kobold, Aasimar, Tiefling, Goblin, Hobgoblin.

I used the stats given for pc's, but I was wondering if anybody had a variants to the races they could suggest. Also, I was wondering if there were any other races that could be fun to add.

I really like it, but I tried to make a spotaneous casting divine class, and it wouldn't let me select any spells. Not sure what I did wrong...

Anyway, it's a blast, and anything you homebrew on it is saved to a seperate campaign file that you can distribute to your players, provided they also have the program.

Oh yeah, if you wait to buy equipment until you've got the character leveled where you want them, it automatically adjusts starting wealth to reflect it. Very nice, I was worried I'd have to work it out for myself.

Any way, my original questions stand.

There are lesser versions (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/sp/20040213a) of many LA races, which have no LA.

Simply use the creature's starting stats, and don't take the racial levels, and you've got a +0 LA version.

You know I always thought it would be interesting to play as Worg or Winter wolf, or other talking magical beasts.

Hmm... Worg's have 4 hit dice and a +1 LA.
Winter Wolves have 6 hit dice and +3 LA. Yikes. Not much chance of balancing that...

Ah races, my favorite thing to homebrew. If you're looking for a really fun race, I'd like to suggest my Globble (shameless self endorsement), who wouldn't want to play a sentient ooze? Here is my list of posted races:

If you wanted to play a Cat... be a Catfolk from Races of the Wild, or you could go for the more demonic Rakshasa, which is often depicted as a tiger... although Catfolk is LA +1 and Rakshasa is... LA +7. But some of it is really cool...

yeah, tibbits are cool (they turn into cats). I personally like the monkey race or Mwnci (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11433) created in our own playground. It is a monkey. It speaks monkey, and looks and acts like an intelligent monkey. pretty much the perfect and most fun rogue ever.
