Hey everyone

My DnD group is doing a new campaign and we're basing our characters off our personalities. Most of these traits is what the group picked for me.

Based off this info what class/subclass would match this?

INFO

Factual, prefer hard facts

Plan everything in advance. Adaptable if need be

Blunt and tell it as Is

Stubborn

Imaginative but not super creative

Narrow things down and organize

Value on details and the past

Obsess over meanings

Cautious

Thrive on comfort and predictability

Love space and science

Logical and Rational

Good at bridging gaps with communication if there's a misunderstanding

Impatient

Read a lot

Love to learn about new things.

Must understand before doing

Rebellious

Somewhat selfish

Progressive

Not a very chaotic person

Can be aggressive

Easily stand up for myself

Weightlift everyday

Knowledge is important and believe everyone should have opportunities to learn

Very protective

Competitive and don't like losing

Really enjoy strategy games and puzzles

Hmm I'm seeing high Str, high Int, low Wis. Eldritch Knight? Bladesinger? Maybe a Fighter 1/War Wizard X? Easiest way, just look at ability scores and then looking at classes that benefit from those scores.

When I make characters I break classes down to their mechanical parts and put things together (multiclass) based on what I want the character to do. So, I wouldn't really consider a class to be associated with any particular personality trait. So, another way you could do this is think about how you would want to fight (if you were a daring adventurer/superhero in a fantasy setting), and then pick a class or classes that appeal most.

Honestly any class would able compatible with 100% of these traits.

However I am getting Cleric vibes. Maybe a Sage Life Cleric of Kord with 14 Str, 12 Con, 14 Wis, 12 Int, Insight, Arcana, History, and Religion.

Whereas I was thinking that wizard was the obvious choice. Probably something blasty, like an evoker.

And yeah, you can have any class with any personality, but that's not what the OP is looking for.

I was getting knowledge cleric vibes on first pass, without thinking too hard about it.

I was also getting the vibe of a leader who has steadily risen through the ranks of their organization over the course of years (could be the church or a clan of some kind) to be fairly high up in the command structure. Not on top, but in the upper ranks. The kind of person people confide in because they know they're going to get direct and brutally honest advice.

I feel loyalty and dependability, and even a degree of predictability, but without extreme rigidity. The kind of person who pulls out a surprise long after you assume you have them all figured out.

Oh sorry, I didn’t get that all of those personality traits we’re supposed to be for just one character!

From that list I’d recommend:

Backround: Archeologist (from Tomb of Annihilation) or Scholar

Class: Rogue (maybe multiclass with Fighter), second choice: Wizard

Subclass: Thief or Swashbuckler (from Sword Coast
Adventurer's Guide and Xanathar's Guide to Everything)

yeah, rogue was my second leaning, right behind cleric. So maybe we're converging on something here.

Abjurer Wizard?

However...what if you played against type - always more fun for me?
Keep those personality traits, and play an Abyssal Tiefling Wild Magic Sorceror. The randomness of the race and class might contrast interestingly with the methodical personality.
Your powers are highly unpredictable - and it frustrates the heck out of your PC!
