I having been DMing my kids and their friends (ages 7 - 9) for several sessions now. For miniatures, I purchased 4 sets of "A Monster for Every Season (https://www.giantitp.com/AMFESSpring.html)" and they work great.
I suggest print the line art for younger players and letting them color the mini's themselves. I find 7 year-olds care more about what color their elf's hair is than what their dexterity score is.
