Shadow of the Dragon Queen: How much DM work is required?

So, I am contemplating to run SotDQ for my group. It looks really cool and my group doesn’t have problems with railroads!
That being said, how much DM work is required to make this work? I don’t mind adding some things to flesh it out and adjust it to my players. However,I don’t want to rewrite portions of the plot or fill major plotholes. I just don’t have time for that atm :-(.
(Also I‘d just play homebrew at that point).

How „ready to play“ is it out of the book?

I've only read the book once, but from what I saw it is pretty much "ready to play" without real changes required, so long as the PCs stay in the bounds of what is written (which you indicated wouldn't be a problem with your group).
