Hello, fellow playgrounders.

I am looking for players for a game of High School Harem Comedy (https://forums.giantitp.com/showthread.php?290243-High-School-Harem-Comedy-(Game-System-PEACH)) a game developed right here, on the GitP forums.

In a nutshell, it reverses Harem genre stories, where instead of you playing a generic protagonist choosing a girlfriend out of the options the developers gave you, you play as the members of a harem, vying against each other for the heart of hapless Protagonist-kun.

You make your characters out of the archetypes for anime girls, each with a list of advantages to use in every scene to gain Victory Points.

I tend to run games where the protagonist is a girl, making the games yuri themed, but I also make them as straight, bi, pan, or ace as required to make them lovable to any and all.

After all, what’s the point of trying to win the heart of someone who can’t love you back?

Here (“https://forums.giantitp.com/showthread.php?649742-Suitors-and-Sweethearts-IC-HSHC") and here (https://forums.giantitp.com/showthread.php?629709-The-once-and-future-Harem) are a couple of examples of play.

If I get some interested folks on board, pitch me ideas for characters, and what you want in your potential protagonist!

I’m very interested. We don’t know anything if the setting or the protagonist before we pitch our characters?

I tend to run non-supernatural theme games set in college age environments. Usually freshman year or so.

But if there are elements you would like or would prefer not to have, by all means, let me know!

I usually have too many character ideas so I try to build something within the setting to narrow it down. So just like slice of life comedy romance?

More or less.

But if you want some setting info, we can start with a type of character you would want yours to fall for. As I said before, I tend to use female protagonists, which often leads to yuri style romance stories.

Might dip my toes in this if there’s some interest here. I’ve got a pre-med student character that would absolutely fit in for a college age game.

Were you thinking the cast will mostly get up to on campus shenanigans, or off? Also, given the system, Japanese college or American?

As for protagonist, have you played with the idea of them being some shade of gender nonconforming?

In order to avoid whether someone feels awkward or unsure of using Japanese honorifics and naming conventions, I will probably go my typical American route.

As for a GNC protagonist, I haven’t considered it, but if it is what folks would want, I could certainly try.

I’m into a yuri love story. I was thinking some kind of tough or sports girl.

Sports star is definitely a good option. As for tough, there is the Sukeban, the Yandere, occasionally the Kuudere works for it, if they are built right.

But I am going to wait to see if I can get a third person here and then maybe make a real recruit thread with my pitch.

Giving this a bump to see if there is any more interest.

Absolutely!

Welcome aboard!

So for the four of you, I have a couple of questions.

1. Your preference for protagonist, as far as gender, orientation and identity.
2. Setting. I usually run college age in America to an avoid questions of consent and ick.
3. Rating. I tend to run somewhere around the PG13 rating level. But I am open to suggestion and your wants.

1. No hard preference here, if anything I'm into lgbt things.

2. Mmm... A setting other than our current real world May be fun

3. I think we can't do anything explicit on the forums so I'll abide to that limitation but I don't really mind explicit themes

I think I will wanna be the sports star girl in the end. Hope the college has a good basketball or football program! 😜

1. I want a girls love story!
2. College fine
3. Anything goes

1 Sapphic love story, sapphic love story!
2 Supernatural! Supernatural!
3 Unfortunately if we go above pg13, we'd need to take this game off forum.

1) Decidedly queer in at least one aspect - whether it's gnc, sapphic, polyam, etc. Does not need to be stated ahead of time.

2) College is good - I'd even say senior year might be fun just to have folks feel more like quasi-adults rather than high schoolers without parents.

3) Forum rules kinda already dictate anything too lurid is a fade to black. But we're all adults here, many of us went to college - people get up to adult things sometimes, and it's fine if they do.

Will wait for the setting before building a character but I've a somewhat loose idea...

I am going to make a new thread with the setting info.

I am going to go with college age game, but sadly, I think I am gonna leave it set in real world. Maybe near future scifi? A light cyberpunk, veneer perhaps.

But I will put the link to the recruitment thread when i have it ready.
