They kept the sign after the Nevada Gaming Corporation takeover.

"Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas."

Yeah. Right.

The only thing fabulous about this town is how it kept its independence from the Indians. But well, throw enough Nuyen at a problem, and it'll go away. Not that it matters. One way or another, Vegas would still be around. Only difference is who runs it. Still, as an extranationality, there were perks that cities affiliated with the other nations of the Sixth World didn't have. With less direct control from the megacorps, the SINless were harassed less than they would have been anywhere else. They were still poor as hell, but that didn't stop then from dropping every Nuyen they could afford (and a lot they couldn't) at the casinos. Every day was someone's vacation, and the tourists flocked to Sin City by the thousands. That is a lot of cred for a lot of grifters, street performers, magicians, and folks who knew about the shadows, but lived in the neon glow of the Strip instead.

The sun is just beginning to set, the orange light filtering across the Mojave desert, and the nightlife is about to go into full swing.

You’re in Vegas for a reason. Maybe you were born here. Running from UCAS, Confed, or Corp authorities?

Whatever. Doesn't matter. You each had your own lives and your own identities. You each started Running.

But every job comes with a price, and a paycheck. Too bad the creds don't last.

Especially in a city that never sleeps.

Las Vegas.

Bright lights. Dark Shadows.

But which is which? Where does one end, and the other begin? Most never know. And fewer yet realize that the best Runs happen right in front of their faces. Like a good street artist, Misdirection is the name of almost every game here.

"Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas."

Because I don’t have them. Sorry.

Was building a character for this, finished equipment, contacts, was inputting background & appearance into Chummer and it ... crashed ...

Just lost like two hours worth of inputting and story stuff. Ugggh!

That is a pain I have experienced many times.

My sympathies.

I'm interested in this game, actually have a Native American orc infiltration specialist that's a Vegas native. Would love to have her romp around in her home town.

What's the best way to handle a character sheet? I noticed myth-weavers has no Shadowrun 5e.

I use Chummer to handle that. There is a print feature called "Print Only" that I use to copy and paste to forums.

Malik Jackson, 'Ghost Dog'

https://i.postimg.cc/bvkfZJq6/Malik-Jackson.jpg
Malik Jackson, the Ghost Dog of Sin City, cuts an imposing figure in the neon-lit streets of Las Vegas. His shorn hair, meticulously maintained, reveals the cybernetic lines etched into his scalp, a testament to his commitment to the shadows. Clad in a bulky armored jacket, its urban camo pattern providing both protection and a touch of street style, Malik embodies the fusion of practicality and urban flash.

Underneath the jacket, he sports an urban camo tee, a subtle nod to his roots in the SINless underworld of Ironside Heights. The tee hints at the resilience and adaptability required to navigate the chaotic landscape of the shadows. A striking wolf-head pendant dangles from his neck, a silver guardian that echoes his maternal connection the Vera, the ork talismonger who took him under her wing.

Malik's visage is completed by a bike helmet adorned with a Japanese mon, a symbol of honor and identity. This distinctive touch not only offers protection but also adds a layer of mystery to his presence. Strapped to his thigh is a bulky Colt American 2066, a testament to his proficiency in pistol combat. A smaller L36 is discreetly tucked under his jacket, a hidden ace for close encounters in the unpredictable world of shadowrunning.

As Malikg roams the neon-lit streets astride his Suzuki Mirage, a street racing bike that slices through the city's shadows with unmatched agility, his cybernetic eyes, glinting with an amber glow, scan the surroundings. The hum of the bike's engine resonates with the heartbeat of the city, and Ghost Dog, poised between the bright lights and dark shadows, is ready to face whatever challenges Sin City throws his way.

I also wanted to ask what sort of campaign this will be, from the scale of dark and depressing to power fantasy. And what's your style and philosophy as a GM.

I played in a Shadowrun game before where the entire run was almost ruined because we crossed the street in front of a video camera, and while I appreciate that extreme attention to detail, it's just not for me, I really don't have a criminal mind.

Well, considering I just got a submission for a cyber horse, I would say we are going far less Mirrorshade, and more Mohawk.

Also, considering the nature of PbP, I am going to keep your pre-run activities to a minimum. I’ll let you do your planning, decide what you feel you need to accomplish, and then jump in to the actual job.

You can consult the list of things you thought you would need to prepare or research or plan for, and then roll to determine how you planned for the contingencies in a flashback, ala Blades in the Dark.

If you want though I could go the juice-o-mancer build of the technomancer. Basically all leadership, face skills and drugs very covert. Not a hacker though.

Im not going to tell you what to play. That’s no fun, for you or for me. I can vibe with whatever you all want to do. Sure, I have an over all plot, but if you folks want, that can be background noise, or the focus for just one of you. Or whatever you want to do.

Want wacky and zany? This is Vegas, baby. We can do that.

Want serious, grim and dour? This is Vegas, we can make that happen too.

It’s not all me. I can roll with however you want. Tell me, on a scale of 1-10, 1 being Ultrablack Mirrorshades, and 10 being Spiked Mohawk, where you want the mood. I can do it.

alright cool, I can get the cyberhorse to work more than I can get other things with the build rules

Just still working on getting a good name for the character and working them up and out. By day they're a "uber eats" delivery "driver" transporting/smuggling items from place to place in Las Vegas. They can clock out some pretty good speed on foot and do a lot of parkour

The sheet thus far.

Currently going though ideas of the delivery service that the character works for.

I've got NeighNet, HayWire Delivery, Pegasus Knight, KnightLife Deliveries, and a few others. Over all the business is rather small thing focusing on small local deliveries of things, sometimes that need to be smuggled through the city in which going by car is a bad thing.

To be honest, I'm not really experienced to cyber/bioware so I'm trying to work on figuring it out still. But one thing I know is that I can go fast. Really fast. But I don't have much in the way of initiative, and getting those boosts is really essence heavy.

Imagine the lower half being more cybernetic. and the top part human with stuff like a mask being worn.
