Buy the Book of Exalted Deeds. In it, you will find nifty magical materials, poisons and diseases ravages and afflictions, which are only effective against those of evil aligment, interesting prestige classes and feats for a bastion of Good such as yourself, and some other goodies as well. Also, if you're worried about folks misunderstanding something you've mispelled due to your dyslexia, just click the spellchecker in the upper-right corner there.

Aasimar level adjustment is +1. Do you not have a monster manual? If not, here's (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/planetouched.htm) Aasimar racial traits. Or instead you can take away LA and make the race a little weaker here. (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/sp/20040213a)

Off-Topic: For dyslexia, a short-term solution that would make it a bit better would be to run it through a spell-checker every time. Most browsers can actually do this, so you oughta check it. Firefox, I know, has a spell-checking plug-in.

On-Topic: Paladin's are probably my favorite class, just because I find them interesting. For the advice below, I'm assuming that you're playing a more standard melee Paladin. Playing odder Paladins can be fun too, but I'm running with this assumption.

First off, make sure you never get into the ramrod up the butt mentality that gives Paladin's a bad name. Be Hinjo, not Miko.

Second, use your spells wisely. Buff yourself up the wazoo. Unless you really need it for something, don't get damage spells. Get some Divine Metamagic, too. Not to mention using other's spells. Have the spellcasters buff you up.

Third, you're the tank. Tank. You have a 10-sided HD, a good Fort save, great BAB, and probably a big pointy metal stick. Try to keep the squishier member's of the party from getting killed.

Fourth, you have some decent class abilities. Always Detect Evil before you Smite, to avoid wasting it. You don't need to worry about disease, and if you're fighting something with a fear ability, try to keep near your allies to give them the benefit. Remove Disease usually isn't that useful, but keep in mind that you have it. It can come in handy.

Fifth, the mount. These can really come in handy. You can currently have a CR 7 non-flying mount, or a CR 6 flying mount.

Hope that helps.

EDIT: I was assuming that you were using the Aasimar LA when you said a Paladin 10. If you're a Paladin 9, you can get a CR 6 non-flying mount, or a CR 5 flying mount.

Your Dad has all the books? That's totally cool. My Dad just teases me (good-naturedly, he used to be a gamer).

Well at level 10, you could just play an Aasmir character that is a little less XP, using the LA buy-off(explained here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/races/reducingLevelAdjustments.htm)) system.
That would make your character a little bit more powerful then with a normal race, but with LA it's probably a lot worse.
Also since the paladin isn't a game breaking class in the first place, you should be fine with a slightly stronger race.

On your spelling, I personally don't care if you write something wrong, I do it myself all the time, but you should capitalise your "i" it directly looks much better IMO.

Two of the best ways to liven up a paladin are here (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=761045) and here (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33551&highlight=Paladin).

Also, Crusaders.

Pluses for an Aasimar: Wisdom and Charisma bonuses, Favored Class: Paladin, a few useful resistances, flavor
Minuses for an Aasimar: Level Adjustment (which can be offset by playing a Lesser Aasimar or using LA buyoff, both mentioned above), Tieflings making fun of you.

As for being a Paladin in general, they're a decent frontliner class with useful abilities, and can be an extremely effective offense in combat with a little attention to optimization. I also find it quite fun to play a traditional, straight-laced Hero, and Paladins have that built into their class.

Just make sure before you play a Paladin that a) you don't piss off your party by bossing them around (which has killed or retired more Paladin PCs than any demon) and b) your DM doesn't have some kind of vendetta against Paladins that will force you into a constant stream of no-win ethical conflicts from which your class features will never escape intact (this appears to be amazingly common). After that, just remember to play nice with others and take advantage of damage-boosting feats and tactics, and you should be good.
