The skeletal creature has four clawed arms and the gaping jaws of a shark skeleton.

The first of these creatures were created by a merfolk lich who dreamed of conquest, but was not wholly willing to sacrifice the quality of her undead minions for their quantity.

Combat
A masterwork skeleton fights mindlessly.

Undeath Throes (Su)
A masterwork skeleton releases a burst of negative energy upon its destruction, dealing 2d6 points of negative energy damage to every creature within a 10-foot spread (Reflex DC 15 half). This damage comes from negative energy, and it therefore heals undead creatures.

Masterwork (Ex)
A masterwork skeleton is created using animate dead and a ark of desecration, by a necromancer with both the enhanced undead (https://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/specialistWizardVariants.htm#enhancedUndead) ability and the CorpsecrafterLibris Mortis feat and its fellows (Bolster Resistance, Deadly Chill, Destruction Retribution, Hardened Flesh, and Nimble Bones). (The statistics block already reflects these benefits).

New Item
Ark of Desecration
This beautiful ebony chest is fashioned from polished ebony inlaid with ivory, pearls, and blood-red coral, and is worth at least 1,000 gp on that basis alone. Necromancers often commission them from cults of death or evil.

Once per day the item's owner may speak a command word to have the ark open and generate a double-strength extended desecrate effect for 24 hours, as though the ark were a permanent shrine devoted to an evil deity.

Moderate evocation [evil]; CL 6th; Craft Wondrous Item, Extend Spell, desecrate; Price 4240 gp; Weight 200 lb.

Was recently thinking about which core creatures made the best animate dead targets from quality vs quantity perspective, then fell down a rabbit hole of necromancy feats.
