I recently downloaded the interactive fiction HHGTTG game, which was released by Infocom in 1984. (From underdogs, if anyone's interested. (http://www.the-underdogs.info/game.php?id=3486)) I'm loving it, even though it really is as hard as I've heard. (If you try playing it, you'd be surprised at some of the things you can input to actually get responses, and funny responses at that. It is Adams after all.)
Anyway, I've chosen to play through without using the hints at all. And no, that may not be the best choice, as it is currently driving me insane not knowing what to do. I was wondering if anyone else has played/won this game, since it really is fabulous. So... have you?

I have it, I've played it, and I usually love old games, but I draw the line at text-games. I need graphics. They need not be pretty, but I need some sort of visual aid.
Also, I was traumatized by a rabid Zork game when I was a kid...

The BBC (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/hitchhikers/playing.shtml) Version was released for the 20th anniversary of the game. Same game, but with shiny pictures as well.
I remember trying it a good few times but mostly I end up killing myself.
