I like ToB, but I find the flavor of the nine schools to be very... well... specific. As if you'd have to have studied under specific masters to learn these manuevers, particularly for things like Desert Wind or Shadow Hand. As it stands, I currently have trouble incorporating these nine schools into Eberron. My final conclusion was simply to place monasteries (one for each school) at various locales in Eberron, preferably Khorvaire since it's more accessible. I figured a Warforged stayed at each monastery to silently master one school and pass it on to students who came seeking the way if they could prove themselves. My questions are this: Where would you put the kinds of monasteries described above (assuming a different area for each school), and if you don't agree with the above solution, how would you incorporate ToB into Eberron.

My current placing of ToB monasteries:

Desert Wind: Either Talenta Plains or Valenar
Devoted Spirit: Thrane
Diamond Mind: Mournland
Iron Heart: Sharn
Setting Sun: Lhazaar Principalities
Shadow Hand: Shadow Marches
Stone Dragon: Mror
Tiger Blade: Q'barra
White Raven: Aundair

I don't think each discipline needs one specific region--although Iron Heart, I think it was, is associated with Hobgoblins in the ToB.

Shadow Hand would make a good fit for the Zilargo gnomes.

I'm not sure why Diamond Mind is in the Mournland; it seems a better bet for the cerebral Aereni elves.

And then there's Xen'drik, which probably has its own traditions with its own names (the overall skills passed down in tribes rather than via monastic-type arrangements)--I might rename some of the maneuvers for the character I'm making for your game. Some of Khorvaire's knowledge of the Sublime Way could come via martial scripts (and similar manuals) recovered from Xen'drik, the drow have their own stuff, etc.

IMO you can have a school with a single martial arts "Master" particularly in ECS where a level 3 - 5 NPC with 1 -3 ToB class levels would be a "Master" capable of amazing martial feats in comparison to other fighters. A Master of the Three or a specialist in one discipline is pretty incredible at that level.

IMO you should have at least one minor school for each of the Nine Disciplines with a single "Master" in every major nation along with a dozen or so well known "Masters" who move around a lot and several larger schools.

IMO Karrnath should probably have the most ToB schools with more than a single martial adept "Master".

I would think all religions would have Crusaders but the Church of the Silver Flame Crusaders would generally be the best well known and Thrane would favor Crusader disciplines because of that.

House Deneith should probably have the most "Masters" of all 9 disciplines followed by House Tharashk.

House Phiarlan and Thuranni should favor Swordsages and should have the majority of the "Masters" reflecting those disciplines.

IMO Noble and Royal houses would favor Warblades for knightly types and Swordsages for urban gentlemen types.

IMO quite a few of these lone "Masters" would be employed or retained by the Dragon, Noble and Royal houses.
