What would a world be like, if wizards made up 10% of the population if taken logicly. Yes it comes from another thread.

I think it would make more sense if they were sorcerers. I mean, would 10% of people train for their magic?

Very clean. Prestidigitation everywhere.

A better question is- why only 10%?
If you could train for magic, would you pass up the opportunity?

The first thing that pops into my mind, is extreme changes in religious faiths.

Think of what Christianity considers as great miracles: Water walking, create food, cure disease and raise dead.
A low level cleric can do most of this list, and a medium level cleric is a lot more impressive.
The miracles in Exodus are a bit more impressive, but generally they are larger (and sometimes selective) versions of medium level spells.
The Greek mythology contains cool miracles, but again, curses, polymorph other, disguise, lightning bolt and most of the other things take no more than a medium level caster.

So if a medium level caster can do all these things and more, in a world where magic is common, what will the people believe god/s are capable of doing?
What miracles will a god be expected to do in order to show his divinity?

Teleportation pads in every city.
