Question of Dice Rolls

This si the first forumn I have joined that uses the dice roll thing although I hve seen it regularly, can anyone explain to me in detail how it works so I can rp :D thanks,

It uses this...
1d20+8
you can add whatever between and as long as it is that kind of format.
this is the format... the # means number. and +/- means plus or minus.
#d#+/-#

it only works on the gaming Play by Post forums. There is a dice rolling thread there.

It as simple as that, though if you have other question I'm sure I or others will answer.
