Reincarnated?

I have a quick question about reincarnation. If reincarnated into... say a bugbear, what happens with the la and racial hd? Must you earn them (which would be lame imo) or are they just ignored?:smallconfused:

They're slapping on automatically, I believe, and you just gain XP slower than everyone else. So- a sudden boost in power for a brief time, and then...suckage forevermore.

You could ask your DM to take the lost level from Reincarnate out of your new racial HD instead of out of your class levels (or make it the LA, but that might be felt as 'too cheesy.') Combine with an LA buyoff, if possible, and you're only stuck with two humanoid HD. Which still sucks, but isn't as bad as it could be.. and you got light armor proficiency out of it, despite not having any use for that.
