So I've never really liked psionics in D&D, mostly because they feel so out of place in most medieval fantasy settings. However, it occurred to me that psionics would mesh much better into a more modern or at least more sci-fi-ish setting.

So, I guess my question is, is there some easy way to reconcile psionics into d20 Modern? I'm not overly familiar with psionics, but it seems to me that the psionic classes I've seen are based on a D&D model which could prove problematic if implemented in d20 Modern (no scaling class-based Defense bonuses, for one thing).

Any suggestions? Or any "duh, the solution is right here, dork" links, perhaps?

You mean, like the section on psionics in the d20 Modern handbook and SRD? (linky (http://www.wizards.com/d20/files/msrd/msrdadvancedclassesII.rtf) link (http://www.wizards.com/d20/files/msrd/msrdpsionics.rtf))

Or were you looking for XPH style psionics in Modern? Because it probably wouldn't be too hard to do that. You'd just have to change the powers known system and figure out which powers you'd use from the XPH and which ones you'd convert from the Modern ruleset.

Thanks. To clarify, I guess I was looking for a base class and not an advanced class, so I missed the psionic classes in the SRD. Which made me even more confused, because, as you point out, there's a psionics secion/file included. So, I feel like an idiot, but at least I found what I was looking for.
