View Full Version : Statting the God-Emperor

DM is setting up a campaign and he wants some kind of insanely powerful NPC for some reason or another. I quote:

I need someone ridiculously powerful. Like, the Emperor or something.

Help would be appreciated.

Umm.. CR?

Wizard 20/Cleric 20/Fighter 20/Rogue 20's pretty strong.

Eita
2008-01-08, 02:09 AM
He's meant to be invincible from any mortal blow from what I gathered. I think that the DM is going to make us get some magic amulet to use to kill him.

Essentially, we might as well just stat the God-Emperor of Mankind.

Nebo_
2008-01-08, 02:47 AM
The emperors stats would be something like this:

AC: Sufficient to dodge your attack
Attack: Sufficient to hit you
Intelligence: sufficient to outwit you

... and so on.

Eita
2008-01-08, 02:51 AM
Now that I think on it, his stat really just needs to say:

You can't possibly kill this guy without some sort of rare magical artifact designed to do just that.

Amendment One: However, he can momentarily disturbed by the Spanish Inquisition.

(Statted with 40k rules cause that's faster and gets the same point across)

The God Emperor of Mankind:
{table=head]Points| WS | BS | S | T | W | I | A | Ld | Sv

Lots| 15 | 15 | 15 | 15 | 15 | 15 | 15 | 15* | 1+/2+[/table]

Special Rules:
Better Than You: The Emperor is better than you at everything. All his stats are 15, even though the game doesn't go that high. Deal with it.

Failure is Not in his Vocabulary: The Emperor always passes all leadership based tests.

Armoured by Awesome: The Emperor's Armour Save is 1+. He does not fail on a roll of 1. His Invulnerable save is 2+, so he can fail that, but you have to hurt him first.

Psychic Powers:
Make you kersplode: Choose an enemy model on the battlefield. Roll 2d6; On a roll of 2 it doesn't die.

Crippling Love: All Primarchs are immune to the Emperor's psychic powers and automatically hit and wound in close combat. In addition they have 15 wounds and a 2+ invulnerable save, but only when fighting the Emperor.

Eita
2008-01-08, 03:18 AM
The last rule should be changed to, "Crippling Love".

Replace all models with Talon of Horus "all Primarchs".

Destro_Yersul
2008-01-08, 03:21 AM
Done. Though the Talon of Horus was still what killed him, and works better if you're looking for the "Artifact needed to defeat him" approach

Eita
2008-01-08, 03:24 AM
A rule such as that is easily changeable. Besides, the Talon must likely has some corrupted influence that would- Be an awesome plot twist....

Destro_Yersul
2008-01-08, 03:30 AM
Mwahahaha!

I feel useful

It would probably be like a cursed intelligent artifact or something. Twists the user to its own purposes. And of course is locked away and hard to find for this very reason. Moral dilemmas galore.

Cybren

Well there has to be a Giant Psychic Worm Template somewhere....

oh wait, the other God-Emperor.

Eita
2008-01-08, 03:36 AM
I would've said God-Emperor Dune if I needed the Lord of Arrakis.

Brom

I would recommend using Psion20/Cleric20/Wizard20/Bard20. That should accurately represent his abilities to:

1) Do everything by force of will.
2) Singlehandedly forge an empire.
3) Guide starships through space with thought.
4) Do crazy, crazy stuff.

...And give him all the metamagic feats. Every single metamagic feat is automatically applied to any spell he casts. Quicken, Silent, Still, Maximize, Empower, everything. God knows Wizards of 20th level are already powerful enough to get away with everything. God forbid if said Wizard is 20 levels in 3 other magic/near magic using classes too.

Zenos
2008-01-08, 07:46 AM
And give him divine ranks. Actualy, he is pretty epic, so lets rather say psion40//wizard40//[insert-powerful-melee-build here]ECL40//cleric40//[insert classes that can be used out of combat here]ECL40. Yeah, I know it is not an entirely legal build for gestalt, but then again he is the

GOD EMPEROR OF MANKIND He's supposed to be overpowered.

If you sum up the CR of trillions of human souls then he should be somewhere around there.

You're claiming that the god emperor gained all his powers from a dark god and several evil creatures(efreetis)?

Hmm, that would actually explain a LOOOOTTTTTTTT!

Emperor player: Oyah, how's that DM, now my character is invincible!
Dm:Whatever. Keep playing.
Emperor:Ok, and I'll forge an empire of all humans and kill everything else! Even the gods! Muahahaha!
DM:On you way to ascension, one of your most loyal comrades betrays you and takes half of your empire and turns them against you.
Emperor:What? I'll go and use my awesome powers to nuke him out from existence!
DM:Ok, before you can take him down, he severly cripples you, making you lose part of your sanity. You ask to be enclosed into a powefull artifact that will keep you alive at the brink of death but unable to properly think for yourself. For all eternity!
Emperor:WHAAAAATTTT????
Dm:Hey, the people will praise you as a god for saving them.
Emperor player:Hmm, I can live with that.

Whatever the god emperor is, he shouldn't have any class with divine powers, because he pretty much sucks at healing, from what we know in the fluff. But in D&D terms he would be some crazy uber level caster:

Emperor of Mankind.
wizard 20 psion 20 rogue 20 fighter 20 sorceror 20 pshychic warrior 20/warlock 20

Gear:Make up some badass relics for him, like ring of protection +20 and all energies immunity, and a +20 holy lawfull keen speed vorpal shoking/flaming/acid/frost burst bastard sword and +20 full plate of heavy fortification wich grants DR200 and grants him immunnity of any harmfull magical, extraordinary or supernatural effect and stable flying boots of free teleporting whitout error of haste.

Ok that's 140 levels and the most badass gear I can think up. Anyone up for a fight?

Duke Malagigi

I'd make him a 30th level wizard (geneticist (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62788)), 30th level psion (telepath), 30th level warrior type; warblade or crusader if using Tome of Battle and fighter if using core only. Then I'd give him 16-18 Divine or Cosmic Ranks. How does that look?

Balkash
2008-01-08, 09:18 PM
Well making him a Demi-Lich would not only make him epic, and immune to magic, but if you built up the at will telepathy, it'd be something near... just deal with the skull...

Why going overly complex?

If you are talking DnD, a level 100 fighter will do. its not like you can bypass his saves, or ever taking down his HP.

If you want a caster jest make him a level 100 sorcerer or something.

If you REALLY want to be evil, give him fighter 10 and then take my immortal PRC level 90.

I like to see you fight off somebody with 90 fast healing and a total 90d12+10d10+100*CON_mod of hit points. add the fact any spell has a 90% spell failure on him and that he can revive himself once. AND that he will go to 1 hp every time ANYTHING will bring him under 0, 15 times a day.
Yea, I can see a problem with EVER killing that freak. he can jest STAND there and you are very unlikely to be capable of killing him.

Now give him some cloak that has a 10% of redirecting any spell/attack. (I am sure a level 100 dude can afford that...) now he can jest stand there and you will die first.

I'm working on my version of the Emperor. He will be as promised a 30th geneticist, barring illusion and enchantment, a 30 level seer, I changed my mind on him being a telepath and a 30th level blade scholar. I also gave him the paragon template, meaning that he has about 1,000 more hit points than Dicefreaks Asmodeus, but would still be crushed in a fight with Old Scratch. Asmodeus has regeneration (not quite sure the number)/ Chaotic and Good weapons and Good spells as well as multiple contingent true ressurections. According to Dicefreaks, Asmodeus is the avatar of a battered and broken overgod named simply the Overlord.

I'd just make your emperor a standard 20th level character (or maybe a 20th level gestalt character - wizard/cleric maybe?) with the paragon template, and make your artifact negate the template. That way he can still be a major threat and a fitting BBEG once the PCs have the artifact, and be practically invincible beforehand.

Yeah, he is powerful, I remember some fluff where he took on the aspect of Sigmar or something and one-shotted an orc warboss. In the skull. The very thick skull. Wasn't there a rule about him getting all his stats up to ten once per game for one round?:smallconfused:
