It's pretty bad. I couldn't see what happened at all.

Ummm... What?

The tripod is your friend. The camera moves so much I ended up seasick.

Stop motion is funny and works. A bunch of kids reaching into the scene to move the Lego people around isn't funny, and really doesn't work.

I give it 0 of 5 stars. :smallfrown:

Unfocused camera.
Cameraman with shaky hands.
Bad voice-acting.
Not stop-motion.

I think I give it -1 out of 5 stars :smallsigh:

Get a camera with a decent macro feature. Even many shirt-pocket cameras can now accurately focus down to less than an inch.

And, um, what Surfing Half Orc said about tripods. A tripod with a boom attachment is good for this kind of work.

Good concept, poor execution.

It's like a crappy version of what I did with Dune for a school project a few years ago...

Noise: 1
Signal: Dead and buried

Of course, my evaluation may be limited by the fact that I couldn't watch past the first 15 seconds.

Did he pronounce Xykon... "Ecks-i-khan?" ... I cried a bit

EDIT: He also has another video, with a Commentary ala DVD... that's actually pretty funny hehe.

Just an example of using figures (in this case Playmobile) in video without stop motion but still being effective:

Like all masters of his art, this man - nay, this god - is misunderstood by many at the early stages

Give in now to this most spectacular piece of film. Watch it for hours - let its quiet humor and subtle etiquette wash over you. This is not some piece of Youtube Poop, out for quick laughs! My friends, this is art!

How should you say it? Should you add and subtract letters or say it really fast?:smallsigh:

Am I the only one who liked this? Sure, the camera was bad, but I think it was funny. Maybe not in the way it was supposed to be funny, (I'm looking at you 1960 King Kong vs Godzilla) but Ex-Kay-On?

no no your not. I give that video a -5 out of 5, now if I had a video camera I would make a ton better video just to show how real videos are made.

By the Twelve Gods that's awful! And it might have been even worse if I could actually hear what they were saying.

Nice idea though. Hmm... 'The Order of the Brick' has a nice ring to it...

Everyone's knocking this even though it was obviously made by a little kid. :smallconfused: I doubt he knows what exactly stop motion is, let alone how to do it. It's bad, yes, but then again so were the drawings everyone made in 1st grade. Heck, at that age I was happy if I colored inside the lines.

As far as pronouncing names incorrectly goes, it's little more than some forum posts put into speech.

"Tharkla", "Shinjo", "Hally", "Ray." These things are everywhere. Is it truly so hard to type a name correctly after seeing it in print? Vaarsuvius, I'd understand, but how can you mis-spell Roy?!

It has potential. I'm taking it as a first attempt.
OK, I agree with all the above points about stop motion, but it could be a lot better if we were just on the figure's level, rather then looking down at their heads. That, and grabbing a few extra people in to do the voices.

Is this for real? You can get a better effect with a cellphone camera!
It cannot be just the motion either, because the image is never focussed to begin with. Somebody needs to read the manual and learn how to use their equipment.
