Does anyone know of any websites which character sheets which can be edited after being downloaded onto my computer without printing it off and used online? (I've found someone who is willing to teach me how to play &D online, and I know exactly what I want my character to do, but I can't find anywhere to make it: I've managed to find a website to upload the character onto, http://www.thetangledweb.net , but I do't think it can be used to create characters).

I'm not sure what you mean, but I've always used this one:
Myth-Weavers (http://www.myth-weavers.com/)

Did anyone ever find out whatever happened to rpgwebprofiler.net? Ever since it disappeared off the face of earth, I haven't been playing D&D (:smallfrown: ), since all our (level 6) characters were on that site.

As far as I can see you want a program were you create a charactersheet off-line and then upload it to a server.
I must admit that I've never heard of a program that can do that.
TheTangledWeb (http://TheTangledWeb.net) and Myth-Weavers.com (http://Myth-Weavers.com) lets you create, edit and share charactersheets online.

Here's how you do:
Warning, large pictures ahead.
Thiel's crash course in 3eProfiler

First you go to Myth-Weavers (http://Myth-Weavers.com) and create an account.
After you've logged in click the Charactersheet button http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u309/Chrthiel/Charactersheetbutton.jpg
Give the sheet a name, select a template and click "Create" http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u309/Chrthiel/Create.jpg
Scroll down until you find the name and click on it. http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u309/Chrthiel/Select.jpg
Fill out the charactersheet with all the relevant data. http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u309/Chrthiel/Edit.jpg
Once your done click on the "Save Changes" button http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u309/Chrthiel/Save.jpg
To edit your sheet again go back and repeat step 4-6.

I don't know. Annoying as it is you'll probably have to remake the characters on another site. The aforementioned myth-weavers is, AFAIK, the most stable.

I use http://www.pathguy.com/cg35.htm.

You copy and paste the finished thing into a word document, and then manually send it to your buddy.

Tangledweb lets you make your own characters up, and their sheet is pretty good. You can pick between DnD 3.5, modern d20, and a couple others.. It does all the math for you, the mods, even the encumberance and it knows the rules for being small sized etc.. The only things you have to put in are your class, level, saves and bab.. Hmm and skills, while it does give you the accurate list of class skills vs cross class, it doesnt figure out how many points you get, it just tallies the ones you spend. Still, pretty easy, pretty smart.

THe menu is maybe hard to read thru tho? Click on character profiler on the far left, and then click new and enter a name. Then you edit that (its a button that pops up to the right of the link for the name) and the sheets come up.

Thanks for telling me. I couldn't get Tangled Web to work, but I found that http://rustmonster.net worked well.
