are going in and out on the volume..why?
like every 5 seconds it goes up 5 decibels, then goes back down 5 decibels...

???

Are they cheap? If so, it could be because the jack is rotating in the plug in. Or they could be not plugged in all the way. If it's neither of these things, or they are fairly expensive, I'd say they're probably broken.

Probably a loose connection in the headphones. If you can touch a part of the headphones or twist a connection in a certain way to reproduce the problem, you've found it! then you just have to find out how to fix it.

Had this happen to one of my (many) earphones. Probably a loose connection in the earphone.

It means they're starting to go.

Try moving the cable about a bit, and see what happens.

That could be what is causing the volume change.

(And just to note, said earphones were eventually got rid of when one earphone was smashed, the other with sound going out randomly. I use them 'til they're unusable. ^.^)

Yeah Im going with loose connection inside. You should probably see if you can get them replaced under warranty or get a new pair.
