View Full Version : Wolf headed character attempt
After some kind people here gave me a few pointers to get me onto a new track (I was stuck on the wrong one) I came up with a few drafts of my wolf headed character.
Here they are, let me know what you think. I'm having trouble with some expressions, like just regular, closed mouth looks, and would appreciate feedback on it.

That's really awesome ABB.
Though the third one terrifyes me... :smalleek:
I think the expressions are a bit over-exaggerated (is that the right word?). I can't make out what the third one (bottom left corner our perspective) is supposed to be. Otherwise, good job.
EDIT: Does wolves really do that thing with the ears? Letting them hang loose? I thought wolves always kept their ears right in the air.. stiff.. you catch my drift.
Well, the third pic was an attempt at making the character just not saying anything, hence the closed mouth. I need to work on that, I know. Any advice would be appreciated.
The fourth one was basically the character getting ready for a fight. In most dogs the ears go flat on the head when they go into fight mode to keep them from being easy targets. I also had the hackles raising on the back of the neck, visible on the character in the fourth pic.
I'm assuming vargr have some of the same tendencies as terran canines given their origin, and worked that in. I've also seen some pix of vargr in traveller that showed them lowering their ears in a fight.
Here's another batch of wolf head character faces, trying to do a better job on talking, not talking and other expressions.

Hmmm, I draw the mouth with an wolf very differently...
My own weird psychodelic twisted results.(made in Paint, mind you)
