Has anyone heard any plans for a new revision of d20 Mod? I'm looking to get into the game and buy the Core and Weapons Locker, but after realizing that would be 70$ I could spend on something else, I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to buy it, then have it be outdated.

Also, what DnD edition is it? 3.0 or 3.5? I know it's neither really, but DnD defenantly influences it's balance, so I was wondering.

I think they're planning on updating d20 modern after 4e comes out. I may be incorrect.

That's exactly what I was worrying about. Any concrete evidence?

No, nothing concrete, they put out some hint during the presentation of the new OGL, but that's it. But even if it happen I doubt it will be before late 2009.

You can pick up D20 Modern and Weapons locker on Amazon for way less than 70$.

I was able to get that and d20 Apocolypse for 77$.

Core is still 40$, but the others were only 20$.

Core is around 40, yes. But the supplements are like 5-10 bucks. Almost all the supplemental ones can be gotten on the cheap using the "buy used and new" option.

I don't like getting used RPG books, based off of how all my DnD books end up looking like. :smalleek:

Dude, you can find new ones on those listings too, hence the "new and used" part. :smallwink:

Here are a few that I saw. D20 Modern is a pretty fun game in a cinematic sort of way. I hope you have a lot of fun playing it. I'm just trying to help you save a few bucks.

D20 Apocalypse - New - 3.99 (seller: BOOKOUTPOST)

D20 Future Tech - New - 3.99 (seller: BOOKOUTPOST)

D20 Weapons Locker - New - 5.42 (seller: BOOKINGS_LTD)

D20 Cyberscape - New - 3.99 (seller: BOOKOUTPOST)

They’re making a new edition of D20 modern? What’s wrong with the current one?

Well, I was looking at the Amazon one because I needed only a bit more w/ the Core book to get free shipping, but as long as the shipping isn't a ton for those retailers, then Maybe I'll go that route. Good thing I didn't buy them already like I ALMOST did.

Amazon is good for these things, but it's definitely worth snooping around your FLGS; my roommate picked up a copy of the Core Rulebook for ~$20 in a discount bin. Also, support your local gameshop!

I couldn't find the exact quote, but someone at WOTC let it slip that they will. I think it was in one of those OGL talking things...

People have been asking the same thing about D&D 3.5 :smallwink:

It'd be nice to know for sure. If anyone can find that quote, I know I'd be appreciative.

I like d20 Modern, but I've mostly mucked around with it for ideas... haven't had the chance to play it. Would suck if I've never had a chance to try it before another edition comes out. 'Course, can always play with the old edition, but still.

Shipping wasn't bad when I bought them (from the same sellers actually) a few months ago. The discount on the books more than makes up for the shipping cost. You'll still be paying far less.

Shotguns are pathetic, smacking someone with your gun will often do more damage than shooting them, and just mention the Five-seveN stats on a d20 Modern discussion board and see how everyone reacts.

Also, as far as I am aware, there are no official d20 Modern stats for zombies of any kind.

Otherwise, it's fine.

The nonlethal damage rules.

And d20 Modern has at least 3 types of zombies: standard in Core, liquified in Arcana and an infectious kind in Apocalypse.

Check your core rule book in the creatures section under Z.
