Inkscape troubles

In inkscape using amorellis instructions Ive made an avatar, but Im stuck at the place where you export it to GIMP. Ive hit the export it as a bitmap part. But when I open GIMP I cant seem to find what I exported? Or a different way so I can work on it in GIMP?

Otherwise I think I have a handle on how to work stuff in Inkspace. Layering was a bother to figure out and it took me a while to fix my circles after I accidently broke them..

Try checking where it's exporting to in the Export box.

Thanks, it was exporting to somewhere I couldnt find so I changed the export path.

Really, you don't need to convert it to a .gif - .png (which is what Inkscape exports as) has a comparable file size and also supports alpha transparency, which is a big plus. Since IE7 is now prevalent, you won't have to worry about compatability so much as you used to.
