Ok, so I decided to invent a little game-inside-a game. Its pretty much an arena that uses the d&d rules. It should be fun but I need some testers. Here are the rules:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tayo's D&D Hero Arena

Creating a Character

Start yourself off at level 20

you get 40,000gp

you get 9 feats (or ten if your a human)

any race/class

playing any creature with a level adjustment is prohibited (as it would un-balance the game)

Dont bother with skills they don't apply.. (even combat related ones)

You receive 5 magic items of your choice (as a DGR)

Arena Rules

You can fight in the arena against anyone who will accept your challenge

If you win an arena fight you can visit the rewards master to redeem the token you are granted by winning.

Rewards:

Roll a d6 to find out what table you will get an item off of

1 = Armor and Weapons (http://www.dndsrd.net/magicItemsAW.html)
2 = Potions, Rings, Rods (http://www.dndsrd.net/magicItemsPRR.html)
3 = Scrolls, Staffs, Wands (http://www.dndsrd.net/magicItemsSSW.html)
5 or 6 = Wondrous Items (http://www.dndsrd.net/magicItemsWI.html)

Use the SRD too tell you which numbers are for what items and roll away!

Trading:

You may trade items with any other duelist.

If you trade an item the other person MUST trade an item back (to prevent overpowered-ness)

If you have any questions comments or concerns, email me at [email protected]

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Post comments and such..

Skills don't apply? What about tumble? And bluff? And intimidate? And spellcraft, concentration, escape artist, heal, ride, and use magic device? And what about ToB stuff, where skills become pretty important? Are you sure you wanna keep that part in there?

Well now that you mention it, I'll put them in there.. I guess I just didn't study it very carefully.. : (

I thought it would just make the game a bit simpler..

This is kinda interesting, but you've been beaten to the punch by the Arena crew. (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68961)

The rewards idea is cool.

you get 40,000gp

WBL for a 20th level character is 760,000. Why the nerf?

HAHAHAHAHA!

The link in my sig is a forum that has an arena already going, if you really want to do this go there.

Well I didn't know that there were so many people who already thought of this.. I guess I should have known..

I kind of took it from the PvP rewards system in WoW.

I really don't think this should be in the homebrew section...

I like it. nice idea, but allow some monster characters, and take the level adjustment out of their level if they want to play a MC. at least allow kobolds, goblins, and orcs. (Lvl adjustment of 0) "Edit": put in some unique rewards for fighting a really tough baddie in the pit, like bracers that give you +3 to dex AND STR. those would really jump up the competition. also make it that if you lose, you lose those items to the person who beat you, make the competition fierce. then finally, give it a little bit of backround story and some unique stages like on a bridge over a lava pit. after they lose a fight they are rezzed without con or level loss. also, what about fighter/wizard/rouge bonus feats??? do they get none of those??? a fighter without bonus feats will fall to a barbarian any day. include team battles!!!!
