According to the new avatar & signature rules, http://www.giantitp.com/forums/announcement.php?a=39, a signature is limited to 12 lines of text. Is it possible to use more than that by placing it in a spoiler block so it doesn't take up too much room on the page? Or is the limitation due to technical rather than display reasons so this woulnd't help? I ask because I was hoping to eventually collect a favorite quote from each of the OOTS pcs, and that's likely to take more than 12 lines. If this isn't okay, now's the time for me to find out, before I've actually collected the quotes in question and then found out I can't use them.

I generally find the 500-character limit to be a bigger stumbling block. I think you might have to pick and choose which OOTs quotes you use, and perhaps change them out now and then.

This needs to go here (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=25) to receive the proper attention.

Total height of your signature may not exceed 12 lines or equivalent. A smaller font may allow additional lines and a larger font will count against multiple lines. A 120 pixel high image is equivalent to 8 lines, a spoiler with no blank lines around it is equivalent to 2 lines. Please be aware of text wrapping as long lines will count as multiple lines at our discretion.

So yes, you can use a spoiler to include slightly longer passages and slightly larger images. But be sure to also look at the special rules for including images in a spoiler first.

The thing that irks me the most is the what is it now, 1000 character limit? It's especially a pain when you're trying to link several character sheets, and then you're forced to go to TinyURL to shorten it, and it's still not short enough... >.<.
