Drawing serpents?

I have lately have an intrest in drawing the white serpent, aka Fortinbras, the genma god of light (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHA0-1XXI3Q) from onimusha dawn of dreams and put it in my signature. Of course I could've asked in the request an OOTS style avatar thread, but I decided to make it myself.

However it wasn't as easy as I thought, but I still want to draw it just for practice. I can't seem to get the right shape for it and I don't know how to make those arms and wings on him... err... it...

Advice? :smallconfused:

Well, for strict oots (such as there is...) I'd say the legs could/would just be black lines, like human limbs. The wings look dragonny enough, so I'd say go with Sabine-like ones. For the shape... maybe have a look at my avi? I have a fair few other serpenty and dragonny ones, as well, if you want to look at those.

It looks good, even though I do say so myself. But I still have a feeling it's missing something and I can't put my finger on it...

Maybe there's too much space left there.
