Large Ranged Weapons = Large Ammo ?

As the title says:

If a character wields a large sized ranged weapon (a large longbow, for example), do they require larger than normal ammunition?

I'm almost thinking so, because of the increased damage dice.

1d8 for a Longbow arrow
2d6 for a Large longbow arrow

You are correct.

A large arrow might also double as a short spear.
