Can anyone make any sense of this? I typed in the total of the binary up top (01001011, total is 75) then the opposite (10110100), and underneath where all the nubers all went away and what appeared is the text "Are you him?" (Or something like that.)

WAIT! while typing this, I got it to ask me again. I typed in 256 a couple of times....I don't know what to answer. This is really bothering me....

I just got it to do it again, and I have not typed anything in. I am trying to find out what to do. This is really bothering me. Help!

Note!!!

Don't hit backspace. It will act like you hit the back button.

Uh, I don't know any binary beyond "There are 10 kinds of people...", but I have an IT friend who does. I'll have him take a look at it.

ooo...
binary won't help you much here.

The site is a maze, bunker, grid, think. You can register a bunker, increase its value, decrease it, visit others, unlock portions of the grid, change grid, move around in the rooms, etc.
You just have to know which directions to feed it.

I forget the codes, though.

Also, you can only feed it a code 'successfully' every 10 minutes. Any more will decrease the global time.

Also, if you see a white box, CLICK IT.

And finally, this is dynamic, always. As in, what you do can affect what another person does, iirc. Or it's IP linked. I forget which.

Oh, and btw, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternate_reality_game

@^ wow, all the words make sense, but when you put them together like that...
So you are saying it’s a bit like a maze (and let me guess, its 4d) of rooms, everybody can effect one (or more) rooms, and everything is done in numbers?

I believe the maze is only '3d', you move around in two dimensions, but things can occur internally.

But, otherwise, yep.

I love stuff like this. So I did a bit of searching, and I found a few interesting things.

Important numbers include 75, 01001011, 227664.

Also I found these documents:

http://www.xccr.com/images/readme.txt
http://www.xccr.com/images/progress.txt

And this, which you will recognise:
http://www.xccr.com/images/q1.gif

Now, q1 obviously stands for question 1. Therefore there are other questions, referred to in progress.txt as 'checkpoints'

also there are two XCCR :: xccr pages,
this one (http://www.xccr.com/), and
this one (http://xccr.com/).

Jeez... this thing is addicting.
I've been looking about, finding out what ARGs are, and located the thread on the unfiction forums, and they beat us to most of it (they completed all the i_ images. They even figured out the image directory is a fake made to look like one, and what most of the numbers mean.
Sadly, they were stumped at q1, and there's been no comment since Nov 06, so it's unlikely the PM is monitoring it.
