View Full Version : Most strange and ridiculous power EVER!

My top 3:

1-) From Jojo Bizarre Adventure 6th Villian
Made in Heaven (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enrico_Pucci)

Claimed by Dio Brando as the ultimate Stand, Made in Heaven has the ability to control the gravitational forces of the earth, moon and possibly the entire universe. As gravity changes, Made in Heaven is able to speed up the flow of time to a point where it is impossible for any living being to catch up, with the exception of its user and God. As time continues to travel, the universe will hit the vanishing point, and a new universe will be created where everything repeats itself accordingly to "fate". However, anyone that is killed by this Stand in the previous universe will not cease to exist, but simply replaced by a similar substitute. The Stand's user may then alter things and create the perfect world they desire.

Immortality? Pufff. Super streght? Pufff. Meet the manga (and more effective) version of Reed Richards.
Don't like the new universe? No problem, just make another!

2-) The Hypothetical true power of the stand of the 3rd Jojo Bizarre Adventure Villian

The World (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dio_Brando)

The World, very similar to Jotaro's Star Platinum, is a stand with phenomenal strength, senses and stamina - but is also faster and more accurate.[10] It can also stop time (for a longer duration as well).[10] He also has at least a measure of Joseph's psychic abilities[9] (specifically, the ability to create a vision on a photograph). A possible explanation for the fact that The World has psychic powers that are only used once is that Hirohiko Araki (The creator of the manga) implied for it to have the power of all of the stands.

Think about Hiro power of stopping time, but it lasts as long as he wants (but only when he got full control of this ability, currently he can only stop time for 10s) AND you have a ghost-like-thing that can torn apart a car (or a tank, who knows?) like it's made of paper!

The number two went to Jotaro (similar power) since Dio died.

3-) The 5th Villian of Jojo bizarre adventure, arguably the REAL responsible for all this mess.

King Crimson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diavolo)

A light red humanoid whose face appears to have a smaller copy of itself in its forehead, perhaps to mirror Diavolo's psyche. King Crimson has the power to cause a time skip, where everything except itself and Diavolo is suddenly changed to be in the state they would have been a short time later (usually 3-10 seconds later). Time still flows normally for Diavolo, who can interact with the time-skipped objects for the amount of time that would have normally intervened (to Diavolo this appears in the form of the would-have-been intervening objects' states being superimposed on each other, in a fashion akin to Nude Descending a Staircase). The nature of the time skip is such that, for example, a bullet that would have hit Diavolo will suddenly be shifted to be on his other side as where it would be seconds later.

"Bottle are in the other side of room and there is someone there, his shoes have a bit of mud.
You: Hey dude, give me that bottle.
King Krinson!
You: Just give me that bottle!
Other guy: But it's in your hand!
You: ... when did it got here? And how the hell did you get here?!
Other guy: I dunno. Walked? There's my footsteps in the flour. (But I don't remember coming here...)
Both: Weird...."

Okay, this one is a confuse. Long story short, no one can defeat you while you are aware of the danger.

Since this is my top 3 I will stop now, but in 4th comes the Golden Experience Requiem (same manga, different chapter) and in 5th comes the Cream stand (same manga, different chapter).

Okay, I'm guilty for choosing all of them from the same manga, but most of their powers range from the WhatKindOfCrappyPowerIsHeart to WTFOMG!!!

What's yours?

Dogwelder (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dogwelder) - He has the power to weld dogs to peoples' faces.

He still needs an arc welder to do this.

Edit: Come to think of it, all of Section 8's members are pretty good contenders in this, but Dogwelder just seems to outclass them.

I seem to remember from quite a few years ago (maybe ten) a comic where everyone had ridiculous powers. One guy could control anything plaid, and another could rip of and re-attach his arms at will. Those are pretty useless.

Oh, and the Defenestrator from Section 8 is quite possibly the coolest superhero evar. That's right, I said EVAR.

Ah, a Jojo's Bizarre adventure fan.

Actually Dio's stand could stop time for only ten minutes for a time, and he needs to be at close range for that to work. And Jotaro's stand isn't as effective as Dio's stand (Star Platinum can stop time for around 3 minutes or 3 seconds, I forgot).

And who can forget Silver Chariot Requiem? That thing can switch souls. Even with animals and humans.

I don't know why, but I like Hanged Man the best. I guess it's influenced by the arcade game (one of Hol Horse's special involves Hanged Man).

I guess Hirohiko Araki's artwork improved over the years. His story and plot mechanisms were always good, but you can see a difference in his art from the first volume of Jojo's (the one where Dio first became a vampire and Steel Ball Run).

And wait, the OP said those powers he listed were strange or ridiculous? Because the ability to stop time is not ridiculous (I'm looking at you, D&D players). And the ability to hit the universe's reset button is strange, but awesome. The time skip may get confusing, though.

The Quiz, from Grant Morrison's run on Doom Patrol, whose super powers were every super power you hadn't thought of.

Then again, the Brotherhood of Dada, from the same series, was made for the weird superpowers. My favourite was Sleepwalk, who had super strength -- but only when she was asleep. Part of that was the costume, though, with little beds for epaulettes and a makeup design for that picture which could be either a candle or two people facing each other, so that her face could be seen to comprise the trinity Winken and Blinken (two little eyes) and Nod (her head).

I also saw my boss driving down the motorway today when I looked out the window what is the chances of that say 2% , next time I get some low percentage like that I want to see a Boeing 747 drive down the motorway. Actually, in her original appearance she took out Dr Doom with a very plausable two-pronged attack. Squirrels can cause a huge amount of damage... OK, she was a joke character, but one with a plausable mechanism.

And for those who have played Superhero League of Hoboken (OK, it's a game, but based on the idea of comic book heroes):

Creating Organisation Charts (The Crimson Tape - the only completely useless superpower in the game)
Really Good at Treading Water (Treader Man)
Seeing Inside Pizza Boxes Without Opening Them* (Madame Pepparami - The way the game was structured made this a really useful superpower...)
Eating Chillies without distress (The Iron Tummy)
Good at Folding Street Maps (Princess Glovebox)

Strangely enough that power is starting to become more common.

Besides Marvel's Squirrel Girl there has also been the Squirrel Girl on the Tick's Cartoon series who had the ability and Marsha Hart from "College Roomies from Hell!!!" had the ability to control by being overly cute. I believe this is becoming a common yet Unusual superpower.

Dio: 10 seconds max, infinite if given more time to grow into his body. '
Jotaro: 5 seconds max (limit of humna endurance)

And the arcade game was made after (and based on) Series 3, Stardust Crusaders, silly. :smalltongue:

For zany powers how about this:

Dommino (quote curtisy of Marvel website)

Domino is a mutant with the ability to subliminally and psionically initiate random telekinetic acts that affect probability in her favor by making improbable (but not impossible) things to occur within her line of sight, thus causing her to have "good luck" and her opponents to have "bad luck." This phenomenon can be anything from an enemy's equipment failure to hitting just the right switch with a stray shot to shut down an overloading nuclear reactor.

This unconsciously controlled talent is triggered when she is in a stressful situation (such as fighting or escaping). This effect constantly emanates from her body at all times and is completely subconscious. However, it is also largely participatory - in order for the luck to take effect, Domino herself must engage in an action whose chance she can affect.

For example, if debris falling from the sky was about to hit her in the head, she would still be hurt if she stood still. However, if she tried to avoid them, she would move perfectly to avoid each and every piece about to hit her. In addition if Domino were to stand before a hail of bullets she would be a bullet-ridden corpse. Instead, she must take action, attempting to avoid the gunfire and will miraculously bob and weave just perfectly to avoid every single shot. As a byproduct of her probability abilities, Domino's cerebral cortex emits a current of bio-electric pulses down her spine to instinctively guide her movements during such situations, which has the added effect of augmenting her natural reflexes and agility to near-superhuman levels.

Although Domino cannot consciously control her ability, she can activate it by putting herself in a position in which she could be harmed. The full extent of her powers is still unknown.

Not only is it krazy and zany but its also quite handy and dang cool.

Arms Fall Off Boy from the Legion of Super Heroes, whose power is self-evident, I should think. . .

And Fortress Lad, also from the Legion. Who's race's power is to grow themselves into a large building. In Fortress Lad's case, there's a mishap while he's showing off his power that results in the Legion forgetting he was trying out to join him and moving into him as a new base
