Hi, I've been having a read of Trazoi's (excellent) inkscape guide, and this is what I've come up with first time round. If anyone could give me some tips. (Have I got the shoe sizes right?) that would be greatly appreciated  http://img162.imageshack.us/img162/8605/beniferinavatarspoilerca4.png (http://imageshack.us)

Nice first try !

Use thicker lines, the shoes hint at the guys excentricity...because they are rather detailed...the legs look off for some reason...but it is a good first try.

Ah, you're right about the legs, since if you look at the left one, to keep his shoe on the ground like he is, with the robe is in the position it's in, he'd have to be performing some fairly unnatural contortions with his shin bone.

Reminds me of an experiment I did in Junior School, where we removed the calcium from a chicken bone and it turned all floppy :smalleek:

EDIT: Did your suggestions AND managed to put up a larger image. How does it do that without losing quality? http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/7212/beniferinavatarspoiler2kz6.th.png (http://img178.imageshack.us/my.php?image=beniferinavatarspoiler2kz6.png) Oh, and it looks like I've inadvertly created a weird thumbnail thing you have to click on.

Imageshack is the blame for the thumbnail. Lose the black background, you cant see the arms and legs...

Shift the upper body slightly to the right, methinks... he looks a little unbalanced right now... or you can move the feet and legs a little to the left...

Touched it up a little more and I think the legs are right now

Can't decide on whether the blue or the red is better:smallconfused: . I suppose the blue, as it shows up better against the staff's brown, but the red makes the lines in the star easier to see...

Blue:

Oh, and I've switched over to photobucket to stop the thumbnail nonsense.

On that note, my first Inkscape avtar.(size 61X119 pix), Resized in Inkscape, made the background see throughy in Irvanview.

I used Trazoi's guide, though somewhere around the boots I went my own way though...

If you want to use blue then you could always make the lines white.
