GO EITHER TEAM!

(I'm a New Yorker, but half my family's from Boston. Whoever loses... we win.)

I have to contest smellie's point, though; Tom Petty's performance was kinda dull. He seemed tired, he didn't really live up to his normal standards.

Otherwise, though, the game's been great.

I'm sitting here watching the game with the folks when the halftime show comes on.

Me: He looks old.
Mom: He is our age.
Me: He looks ancient.
Dad: He is older than us.
Me: He looks prehistoric.
Mom: Just you wait.......

As for the team, hmmm, go with the team from my system (NY) or the team trying to get a undefeated season.

GaH!

Also a little tidbit from a MSN conversation from people in 3 different time zones watching the game/halftime show.

[20:06] EmeraldRose: he does look old!
[20:06] EmeraldRose: that's what I was saying
[20:06] EmeraldRose: how is he even still blond?
[20:06] EmeraldRose: think he dyes his hair?
[20:06] Pwenet: Hair transplant from Paris Hilton
[20:06] * Pwenet ducks
[20:06] EmeraldRose: hehheh
[20:06] Zar Peter: That's a good one

I'm still pissed at them for beating the Panthers in the superbowl, even though it was...idr how many years ago.

I'm kinda rooting for the Pats..just because they are awesome this season!

Also...Tom Petty is still AWESOME! He is just as good as when I saw him 10 years ago...

I'm not a football fan, but I guess I'm rooting for the Patriots. It's always nice to have records made/broken.

I did catch the halftime show, and I thought Tom Petty did a good job. Could he have mustered up a bit more energy? Sure. But it is pretty tough getting excited when you know you're only going to be playing four songs. That's not enough time to get into the rhythm. Anyway, I enjoyed his performance a lot more than the Rolling Stones' performance a few years back.

Oh, and he definitely dyes his hair.

I had to snicker over the title. Football and proper sentence structure never did mix well.
You can edit it by editing the first post. But I enjoyed the snicker. :smalltongue:

Well since the title of the thread is Who likes the Superbowl.....

Why would I want to watch a group of large men in outfits that make it appear they have no necks play with odd shaped balls?

:smallconfused:

Blech.

The team I am rooting for is:

TEAM SLEEP!

Someone let me know who wins - Thanks.

I have no REAL attachment to either team, but it would be awesomely poetic if the Giants won.

10/7!!!!

Alright, Pats - you have 25 seconds to score. A touchdown wins it, a field goal takes us to overtime.

No worries - except that whole perfect season on the line. :smalleek:

EDIT: Bah. Never mind.

I dunno. He was pretty infuriating by the time they traded him. All that talk about only playing when he wanted to...

Besides, trading away the best players is the Minnesotan way.

That was SUCH an awesome game, and this from someone who normally doesn't care!
AND there's a new House on, AND I got a free cookie!
And as my friend put it

somewhere in South America, a village is getting a shipment of "19-0" t-shirts.

That was, quite possibly, the best game I've watched in some time. Certainly the best Super Bowl out of the past few years. I was on my feet for most of the 4th quarter.

Wow.

please note, i don't particularly care for pro sports and didn't even know who was playing until hippie told me at a coffeehouse on friday.

That said, it was an entertaining game and I enjoyed watching it. (Watching a friend watch the game was *more* entertaining, but hey) (I'm also a geek and was just as much watching it for glimpses of camera equipment that looked like fun)

I was rooting for whoever was underdog like I always do - which I took to be NY - so I was glad they won.

Actually I think that was one of the better moves they've done in recent years. Moss was a cancer in the clubhouse, and needed to be gotten rid of. The Vikings don't mr. "I play when I want to play", or people like them in their organization. They're not Oakland or Cincy.

As for the Super Bowl, I'm glad the Giants won. Eli had been bashed undeservedly so for a long time, and now his critics can shut up and sit down. He's not like that hot headded idiot Philip Rivers either. I'm happy for players like Michael Strahan, who as been one of the best at his position for the last ten years, and probably deserves this more than anyone on either team (with the possible exception of Junior Seau). Although I wonder what Tiki Barber thinks right now. Bill Belichick and Tom Brady are jerks, and sore losers. They didn't even have the decency to stay on the field with the rest of their team for the final play, but were instead up the tunnel heading to the locker room. I mean even Randy Moss was out there with his teammates. The New England Patriots needed to be brought down off their high horse, and the better defense did just that.

It's good, I was voting for the Giants the whole time. Basically because they're the underdogs and because there should be only team in NFL history to win every one of there games. Yay for the '72 Dolphins. Only perfect season ever and that's the way it should be.

That's terrible! Really, really funny, but terrible!

Like I said earlier, I'm not a football fan, but I still tuned in for the last 15 minutes of the game. I must admit even I was getting excited as first the Patriots got the touchdown, then the Giants got theirs. Anyway, it's pretty cool that the Manning brothers won Super Bowls in consecutive years.
