What other web comics do you guys read besides Oots? I read RPGworld, 8-bit theater, stubble, megatokyo, el goonish shive, and ctrl+alt+delte.

2004-06-07, 08:58 PM
Squidi and Gods of Arr-Kelaan. Love them, you just gotta!

2004-06-07, 09:26 PM
1. A Modest Destiny
2. Kid Radd
3. Elf Only Inn
4. Life of Wily
5. Life of Bat Man
6. Chugworth Academy

Put in order of favourite to not-my-favourite-but-still-really-good. Order of The Stick though rounds them off as my all-time favourite.

2004-06-07, 09:53 PM
Bob and George - http://www.bobandgeorge.com/
QfG Legacy - http://www.questformoreglory.com/webcomic/kaspar/page1.html

And I'm even starting my own. ;D

2004-06-08, 01:07 AM
8-Bit Theater, Bob and George, MegaTokyo, JonesAve (my own comic, shameless plug), CastleVania Comics (well, until he stopped doing them), NetherOak, Sluggy Freelance, Angst Technology, Planet Zebeth, ... I've probably missed a few.

2004-06-08, 11:53 AM

I think number 18 is weird because Yuuki is a guy...

I read alot as you can see. ;D

2004-06-08, 10:15 PM
Captain SNES -
and The Justinian Empire - http://www.thejustinianempire.com/

Great comics! ;D

2004-06-09, 12:46 AM
I read 8-bit theater and Once Upon a Table.

For some hilarity check out this Once Upon a Table classic:

You won't regret it.

2004-06-09, 01:13 PM
I also read:
Gucomics (which as of late has been a riot with all the CoH jokes!)

PVPonline- classic as well.

2004-06-09, 05:26 PM
Something Positive - a webcomic for your inner jerk. (http://www.somethingpositive.net/)

Von Hunter, Monster Hunter (http://www.vanvonhunter.com/vvh1.html) - Well, it came out long before Van Hellsing... the art gets WAY better, mind.

Choppingblock (www.choppingblock.org) - The whacky adventures of a serial killer.

The Devil's Panties (http://thedevilspanties.keenspace.com/) - It also has a Larping life version.

Donut Girls (http://www.uncreativity.com/donut/) - To say it's a magic girl parody would be inaccurate - it plays around, and pokes fun, at lots of genre cliche's...

Scary-go-round (http://www.scarygoround.com/) - Imagine what sluggy freelance would be like if it was funny. Or interesting.

As far as buzzcomix comics go - Angel2200 is great. Girly has that near surrealistic action non-sequetir humor down pat.

Squidi and count your sheep are neat as well.

2004-06-09, 07:51 PM
hmmm... I also read...

Real Life
Squidi - A Modest Destiny
Full Frontal Nerdity
Dr. Devious

2004-06-10, 06:52 AM
Oh yeah - stuff that doesn't get updated... well... ever.. but is still cool:

Fallen (http://aido.furvect.com/fallen.htm) - All angels wear trenchcoats.

Hello Cthulhu (http://www.hello-cthulhu.com/?date=2003-11-30) - This is funnier for people who know what hello kitty is...

Arcana (http://arcana.keenspace.com/d/20020205.html) Ok, it's a bit yaoish, but fairly cool...

Mory's education (http://mory.keenspace.com/d/20010914.html) - Cause bligher, it's funny.

Own little world (http://www.nodachi.net/~archer/index.php?strip=1) - Best in/out of game gaming comic ever. Neat art, at that.

2004-06-11, 01:50 AM

Thanks guys, i'm new to this whole web comic thing, some awesome leads.

RPG world is a sensation!

It would seem that some webcomics afterwards have "borrowed" ideas from them......

Still cranking through them!

2004-06-24, 10:09 AM
Lets see
I read Twisted Kaiju Theater, Order of the Stick, A Modest Destiny, Bigger than Cheeses, Penny Arcade, Megayokyo, 8 bit Theatre, Monkey Business, Checkerboard Nightmare, and of course
Fuxx0r3d Nukeland Cinema

Which is the comic I happen to make! :P

Gorbash Kazdar
2004-06-25, 12:05 PM
Time for my stupidly long list of comics I read (in alphabetical order, no less).

8-Bit Theatre, the 10k Commotion, Angst Technology (and the associate Weakend Warriors and Sorry, We're Open), Alpha Shade, Angels2200, Applegeeks, Cat & Girl, ClanBOB, CrazyKimchi, Ctrl + Alt + Del, Demonology 101, the Devil's Panties, El Goonish Shive, Errant Story, Fans!, Faux Pas, FLEM!, Gaming Guardians, Goats, IDrewThis, It's Walky!, MacHall, Megatokyo, Namir Deiter, Ozy and Millie, Penny Arcade, Purple [Another word for cat, not what the forum software thinks I'm tryin to say ::)], PvP, Queen of Wands, Real Life, RPGWorld, Schlock Mercenary, Sea of Insanity, Something Positive (and the New Gold Dream), Sparkling Generation Valkyrie Yuuki, Supermegatopia, Theater Hopper, and the Whiteboard

And, of course, Order of the Stick. I recommend each and every one , though not all are exactly PG ;)

2004-06-30, 11:56 AM
I read so many of them it would be a waste of time to list them all. I also do my own, "Adventure HO!", which is hosted by another D&D forum. Give me a PM if yer interested in finding teh funneh.

2004-07-01, 09:48 AM
Here're mine in no special order:

Bhag Low Fantasy
Instant Classic
Dominic Deegan
Mixed Myth
8-bit theater
Queen of Wands
Something Positive
Kiagi Swordscat
Spells and Whistles

2004-07-01, 09:59 AM
I think it's rather cool that Randy Milholland (Something Positive) managed to get enough PayPal donations that he was able to quit his job for a year (and he'll be putting up new strips every day as a result). Neil Gaiman even mentioned it in a speach he gave recently. Very cool.

2004-07-03, 07:08 PM

Hmmm, I just noticed a few comics are in the wrong section, like Unicorn Jelly, which hasn't been in profduction for over a year... I really need to do some housecleaning, eh?

2004-07-06, 10:06 AM
I only read 2 comics, hehe.

Obviously OotS, which i found a few days ago, and

http://www.wtfcomics.com/ this is my FAVORITE comic of all....... it's based on the online game EverQuest, hehe. ;D

2004-07-06, 10:16 AM
I visit lots of Webcomics regulary - many of them have been posted already.

However one that I miss until now is: http://www.lustigesrollenspiel.de

Well most of it is German - but the MMORPG player-types are also available in English. The whole site is just great - those who can read German - check it out in anycase . Those who can't - If you play MMORPGs, check out the MMORPG(engl) section!

The other part features small one-shot strips with general RPG-related fun - sometimes RPGers and the surrounding world, sometimes RPG in-game jokes - and a lot of other stuff.

2004-07-06, 10:21 AM
So, I came across a new webcomic this morning.
Slackers, http://slackerscomic.com/

Great fun. Check it out.

2004-07-09, 05:00 PM
CtrlAltDel, 8-Bit Theater, GUComics, OotS, and upon reference form the news post, Scary-Go-Round.

2004-07-12, 04:55 AM
I read a lot of 'em, but my favorites are:

angst technology
no 4th wall to break
the whiteboard (paintball comic)
order of the stick
penny arcade

2004-07-18, 01:46 AM
No love for Errant Story? What's up with that?!? I heartily reccomend that everyone go and read.

2004-07-18, 04:29 PM
Am I correct in assuming that nobody reads Wigu?

2004-07-19, 07:19 AM
For those Cthulhumaniacs among you:

the unspeakable Vault of Doom.

Enjoy, Whoracle

2004-09-03, 11:09 PM
I decided to dig around in the lower parts of buzzcomix - the guys between 500 and 2000... just to see what they're up to.

Made a few interesting discoveries:

There are only 200 mega-man sprite comics in that whole lot.

A porn site advertisement made it in as a comic.

Krakow 2.0 and Twisted Kaiju Theatre are down there, even though I remember seeing them in the top 10...

Somebody actually made a comic based on the "Cereal Killers" pun. Predictably, it sucks.

But I also discovered a few comics - some that have potential to become pretty big, some that have pretty good art or look interesting, some that are fairly generic, but deserve more then a spot below the 1000...

Ok, I'm modifying this to look a bit more orderly:

Up and coming comics - comics I see a lot of potential in:

Star Booze (http://starbooze.keenspace.com/d/20040627.html) - A Cowboy Bebop inspired comic... sorta. Vote button is in the links section.

Cion (http://www.cion-comic.net/index.php?date=2004-02-05) - Rebllious Elf type fellow... bah, there's really not enough strips, but it looks neat and moves at a reasnoble pace.

Dealing With The Devil (http://www.dealingwiththedevil.com/comic/01.htm) - What would you do to get your life back?

Rose's Diary (http://www.rosesdiary.com/index.php?date=2004-09-03) - arr...I'm not sure what I see in it, but I have a hunch better things are coming.

Proffessional looking comics that already have a few strips in them and are lost to the depth of buzzcomix for one reason or another:

Lowrad 75 (http://lowroad75.keenspace.com/) - Wow. This is obvious top 10 material.

Pinky (http://www.drunkduck.com/Pinky_TA/?i=142723) - Very Heavy Metal 2000 style.

Eva's Escapades (http://www.kommiekomiks.com/evas_eskapader.htm) - It's only a side-branch of the artists main comics, but it has a Euro-noir feel to it... I really like the look.

Blood and the Art of Baking (http://www.bloodandtheartofbaking.com/) - A lebian vampire, baking, stuff... I only recommend this because the art style reminds me of One Night in the Lonesome November...

Yenny (http://www.drunkduck.com/Yenny/?i=108590) - A hot Latina. Her Pet Iguana. Mind, this is not the porn I was talking about earlier.

Opposite Cult (http://www.oppositesect.com/) - Your basic happy monkey cult comic.

Blade Kitten (http://www.bladekitten.com/kage_00.html) - Kawaiish bounty hunter kitten.

Sune (http://stormchild.com/sune.html) - Futuristic Bouny Hunterish

Note that a few of these don't have a buzzcomix vote button, even though they're on the list...

2004-09-05, 01:32 AM
Among many others...

Spamusement (http://spamusement.com) - guy takes headers from spam emails and makes minimalist Far-Side-like cartoons from them. In a different way from OotS, these have made me laugh more than just about anything else - they hit that exact part of your brain that knows to laugh when something's just so weird you can't think of anything better to do. Part of it is because the subjects are real, which adds to the sheer absurdity of it all.

2004-09-05, 08:13 AM
Stuff that lookes very proffesional but I didn't dig that much:

Retort (http://retort.rapturepress.com/issue0cover.html) - Nothing to say of the plot so far, neat comic style art though.

Hoo Cares (http://www.hoocares.com/comics/) - Dilbert in an HMO.

Basset Hound (http://www.bassetville.net/) - A lovable Basset Hound. Kawaii ::)

American Ambition (http://www.upcomics.com/comics.htm) - Freekazoid style art + generic dumb heroes humour.

GBH (http://www.razazulu.com/gbh/) - So far, we have a prisoner kicking a bully's ass, being knocked out by a guard, and having a flashback to the assassination that sent him to jail. Proffesional looking, but very bad site interface.

Fairly generic stuff that still doesn't deserve to languish below the 500 zone:

Wild Hunt (http://www.runewoods.com/wildhunt/) - An RPG comic. Certainly no shortage of those on buzz...

ScurvyDog (http://www.scurveydog.com/) - Yup, another D&D-ish comic.

Muffins 'n the hood (http://www.spidermuffinart.com/comic/) - Another "random insanity" comic, but I found it neat...

Fish (http://sylvan.dyndns.ws/fish.php?comicno=1) - What if VG cats were Fish?

Unlikely Heroes (http://www.unlikely-heroes.com/comic.php?id=20010510) - More genericness...

Beloved (http://www.drunkduck.com/Beloved/) - More world saving antics, I guess.

Metanoia (http://www.plethora.net/metanoia/template.cgi?1+00+1) - Yaoi, but interesting.

Just another wednesday (http://www.justanotherwednesday.com/) - Surprisingly decent for another Clerks/Penny Arcade rip-off.

2004-09-07, 06:45 AM
So nobody else here reads Counter Culture?

2004-09-19, 11:26 AM
I read a few--

And of course the wonderful OOTS.

2004-09-19, 04:42 PM
Thje site is up, but the comics are still only in que. But www.zomcomics.com should be good. I know the man behind the story kinda, and I feel that the comic will turn out well.

2004-09-28, 04:23 PM
my favorite comics are OOTS ;D
and "Death and the Maiden" by Nina (http://www.cartoontomb.de/english/frameset.htm)
The story is about a girl, a highway and death.

2004-09-28, 06:52 PM
Oh, Death and Maiden is really a very good comic (and, yes, it does not stay the whole time on the highway, the plot moves on!) It is also availible in german. Oh, and the other comic from Nina (called "Nina") is also availible there (although only in german).

Questionablecontent.net is also very good (imho). I also enjoy Megatokyo and

2004-09-29, 01:17 AM
Oh, man, Duskrider Moogle, that link was sweet. "you were wrong cabinet sanchez" almost had me out of my seat.

You guys should all read all of that right now.

And definitely read the "What they're saying about Spamusement" link.

The Giant
2004-09-29, 11:46 AM
Spamusement is brilliant. I love the site set-up, where you read the caption, then click to see what he did with it. It makes a lot of them funnier than if you were seeing them at the same time.

2004-10-01, 01:47 PM
Count your sheep (http://countyoursheep.keenspot.com/) is back on buzzcomix. Kick-ass.

Oh, and Scary-Go-Round is slipping down, because the author removed the buzz link from his main page. I never saw the point of doing that, but keeping the comic on buzzcomix.

2004-10-02, 02:14 AM
I like MacHall, it has very good artwork and it`s very funny.

2004-10-02, 12:31 PM
hello, everyone! ;)

I newer to the forums but not to the comic community!

i like reading;

http://brothersforever.keenspace.com <--MY comic!

2004-10-05, 11:17 AM
Questionable Content is Good.

2004-10-06, 10:05 PM
I started reading a comic over at Blame Society (http://www.blame-society.com/index.php). It's kinda wierd, but pretty funny. It's about the adventures of a bunch of sperm.

2004-10-08, 11:33 AM
my list includes: Ctrl+Alt+Del, diesel sweeties, Dndorks, Angst Tech, Sorry We're Open, Weakend Warriors, Least I Could Do, Loserz, Mac Hall, MT, 8 Bit Theater, Penny Arcade, Punks and Nerds, PVP, RPG World, Sinfest, The NEW Starsomething, OotS (of course), VG Cats, and WIGU. and tragically enough, i'm still trying to find more :P

2004-10-10, 10:58 AM
OotS (DUH)
A Modest Destiny
Sluggy Freelance ;D

2004-10-10, 08:46 PM

2004-10-10, 11:25 PM
In no particular order, I read these:

Bizarre Uprising
8-bit theatre
Questionable Content
Penny Arcade
Our Home planet

And of course, Order of the Stick ;D

2004-10-12, 04:42 PM

I'm now reading....

Pixel Heaven - very funny, great forum, although not -currently- updating
9th Elsewhere - good artwork, psychology based
Girly - really interesting
8-bit theater - nuf said
Mac Hall - great art, funny funny
Penny Arcade - you should all know this one
Star Cross'd Destiny - amazing artwork
Chugworth Acadamy
Cascadia - slow on updates, but worth it
Reasons Why We Rule
Creeping me Out
Spells and Whistles - rpg based, i think
Version 2 Fantasy
Angst Technology
SkyFall - really really really nice art
Strings of Fate
The 10kCommotion - really cool, different art style, and actually a really fun storyline, just started reading this yesterday

and of course....OotS

2004-10-18, 07:05 AM
Hmmm my fave webcomics would have to be:

Queen Of Wands
Something Positive
New Gold Dream (even though it hardly ever gets updated)
Order Of The Stick
Never Never

2004-10-18, 08:04 AM
Oh another great webcomic is 'Unspeakable Vault (of Doom)' . Its great for all Call of Cthulhu fans ;-)
Most of those comics are simply not funny for anyone who does not know H.P. Lovecrafts work, but for those who do, its just great!

"Find out what happens when Cthulhoo, Nyarly, Shubby and the crew hang out and have fun."

2004-10-20, 03:32 PM

I don't know if it was listed before, but the forumsearch didn't return anything, so here I go...

Quite cool, even though sometimes a bit off-plot.

Greetz, Whor

Ok, imagine this sung to the tune of Tom Lehrer's Element Song...

Sluggy Freelance
Order of the Stick
It's Walky!
Angel Moxie
Least I Could Do
El Goonish Shive
RPG World

Isn't that interesting? ...I knew you would. I hope you're all taking notes because there'll be a short quiz next period.

12 Dragons
Chugworth Academy
Captain SNES
Bigger Than Cheeses
Heist (my comic!)
Eskimo Bob
Red vs. Blue
Star Cross'd Destiny
The 10k Commotion
Ashes of the Fourth Wall
Asylum on 5th Street
Home of Ghost (my friend's comic!)

These are all the ones of which the news has come to Haaaaaarvaaaard...
There may be many others but they can't be remembered!

For those of you who don't know, Tom Lehrer was a political satirist in the 1950s and 60s. The Element Song collected all the elements currently known into a nice little ditty. Extremely entertaining.

2004-11-06, 05:30 AM
Well, I am reading mostly just one other web comic although I am a great comics fan outside the web.

So appart from OOTS, I am reading :

Casual Gamers, a pretty new comics which I happened to know the author. Well I must admit that it's also where I picked up the habit to read the Order.

2004-11-26, 08:27 AM
Real Life Comics
Penny Arcade
and once in a blue moon Megatokyo

2004-12-06, 01:52 PM
Hey, lowroad75.keenspace.com made it to the buzzcomix top 100 (top webcomics top 50)

2004-12-14, 06:55 PM
I had to finally stop lurking here and register just because no one has listed WTF-Comics as one of their places to read comics...

Check out the Link... It's an Everquest Comic...

2004-12-16, 04:55 AM
the tune of Tom Lehrer's Element Song...

i.e. the tune to "I am the very model of a modern Major-General" from Pirates of Penzance. ;D
