inkscape trouble

for some reason when I draw two things and I leave them there when I click on them they grouped themselves with another person or background.

It's probable you accidentally selected them as you grouped something else.

no its like if i open up my predefined poses thing i have. If i click on one of the characters it selects one of the others that are either below or to the sides of.

Are you dragging to select? Because it might be surrounding them too.

Just select the offending groups and ungroup them. It's possible that you were editing a group at the time when you made the objects, thus adding the object into the group; to prevent this, click several times in empty space before making an object. :smallwink:
