As I mentioned in the Arts and Crafts thread, I made a couple of things that I'm thinking could look good on a t-shirt, specifically these:

The more I think about it, the more I'd like to do it. Does anyone know anything about getting things printed on shirts? I've been told that photo development places can do them. How exactly do they do that - copying it straight onto the cloth, or with that gummy plastic stuff, or what - and what sort of quality is it? Are there any professional places that could do small orders? What sort of costs would there be? What about iron-on things - are they any good?
Basically, how would I go about it? And, of course, would anyone else be interested? :smallwink:
I'm gonna do up a few alternative designs, see how they go...

I can't say straight out how to do it, but I know that it's not too hard, a few of my friends got me a shirt with a design of theirs on it. Quite a complex design as well, it had a squirrel with a hawaiian shirt, a psuedofez and a bottle of...something alcoholic....probably a vodka cruiser, or maybe pure vodka? Anyway, and a caption saying 'party squirrel'. Personal joke, somebody commented that I was becoming quite a party animal, to which a friend of mine replied 'yeah, I think he's a squirrel', and the term 'party squirrel' came into play. I claimed I was more of a limpet at the time (I was on crutches), but it never stuck.

Anyway, they just took the design into town to a shop there and asked to have it on a shirt, so if you can find a good shop, you should be able to get it done.

If you're trying the 'iron it on' trick, be careful, it doesn't work on all material, me and a few friends were cosplaying the SOS brigade, and we wanted the symbol on our jackets...we tried the iron it on routine, which ended up almost ruining a 100 euro jacket!

I saw you post these before, they're very good.

Best option is eather a vlack shirt, with them in white, or a white shirt with them in black.
Maybe the angel could be black on white, and the devil white on black.

Also you can have "Jesus Loves You" or "Satan Loves you" on each shirt.
Or even better, this:

JESUS LOVES YOU.
SATAN LOVES YOU.

DELETE AS APPLICABLE.

On both.

I don't particularly want to make these satirical or anything, though the "delete as appropriate" bit does tickle my fancy a little... I'm gonna try a whole lot of different designs, though. For example, some that I've messed around with so far:
http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h287/serpentine16/Art/angeldevildesign2.gif
http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h287/serpentine16/Art/angeldesign1.jpg or http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h287/serpentine16/Art/angeldesign2.jpg

Each of these would be on a different shirt:

http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h287/serpentine16/Art/angeldevildesign4.jpg
http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h287/serpentine16/Art/angeldevildesign5.jpg

There's lots of colour experimentation, as well.

Actually it was "Delete as applicable"

Those are awesome

Hey! My best way of having custom t-shirts made is to go to this website: http://www.t-shirts.com/custom/default.asp

They are a little bit expensive, but you can upload your custom picture and place it however you like, and the quality is very good for both the printing and the shirts (I had several t-shirts made from there).

Hope this helps!

P.S.: Oh there is also Cafepress: http://www.cafepress.com/cp/customize/ but I never ordered from there...

Serpie, if you don't mind a suggestion, I think the blue angel and red devil designs would work best on the same shirt. Just be sure to get the blue on the right shoulder and the red on the left, and you're all set. :smallcool:

my advice is to make sure you get reccomendations on places before trying them. I got one my shirts made from a place in Darwin and it was pretty badly done. Also, super-cool designs.

I shall ponder this...
I did some investigating today. A copy place in town will print on shirts for less than $20 a shirt, and a few other shops suggested that I ask a sign spraying place for some sort of spray-on technique. Oblivion, I'll look into those.

I got a message on my Devian Tart from this site (http://www.wordans.com/) about my designs (it was fairly sterile and generic, so I'm not gonna feel too special). What do you think, does it look worth considering?

I really like the devil in white on a black shirt, though black and yellow or black and red would look good too.

The site looks legit, so it might be worth looking into. Though I know that Almighty Salmon sells shirt design on Cafepress, the same site that OotS merchandise comes from. That definitely is legitimate and would get the designs out to a lot of people. I don't know whetehr it costs anything though, maybe Salmon would be able to help.

I've heard both good and bad things about Cafepress, but I can't remember what was said about quality. How is the quality of a Cafepress-made shirt? Is it an iron-on?
