Hi,

I've recently uploaded a sheet of pictures which are meant to be printed out, folded, and used as a cheap alternative to buying miniatures.

They're at www.apolitical.info/webgame/heroes

But I need more artwork.

So please PM me if you can contribute something in the same style.

Thanks,
James
aka Jolly Steve.

I was think of creating a few OotS style D&D monster avatars, if I get round to it you can use them for this if you like.

Hey was this not the way the giant originally started using his art style? Anyhow it’s a great idea, and considering all the great avatarists on the board these days one that could very well become very usable. (already has I suppose)

Ichneumon

I like the idea.

They do need to be shrunk down a bit to be to scale with standard minis, but otherwise? great work.

I think I let these guys use my Medusa, not a new idea, but I might use it.

Uh, guys? Isn't the size of a standard square 1 inch by 1 inch?

Yeril

Good idea, I should scale them down.

Eventualy.

At some point.

This actually spans the entirety of my avatar-ing history, so it's a bit varied in style, but here it goes:

@Jolly Steve

Do you want them at one-inch widths or not?

Yeril
2008-02-23, 12:02 PM
Im almost finished my Cute Board Villans; Greenskins V1.1, readjusted to 1 inch widths, on A4 Sized sheets with extra characters including 3 orcs, 3 goblins and a 3rd lizardman. :smallbiggrin:

Should be up by tommorow.

OK, I'm working on an A4 sized collection titled "Big Board Monsters". So far I've done a tarrasqu and I'm working on an abolith. Has anyone got any other suggestions (not dragons, there's enough of those to justify several collections).

Also, its just a suggestion, but what about covering the cutouts with laminate film so they can be written on with whiteboard markers (both are pretty easy to find in office supply shops). That way they could be marked to show if they're at 0 hp or to just scribble over them to represent a hidden/mysterously cloaked character?

Two new sets!

These are cool, but they seem to be too small???

I'm easy, they can be shrunk anyway.

Yeril

They are made to be 1 inch wide, making them a more standardized size which will generaly be more useful to use as models since most grids/maps are based on a inch by inch grid.

Just combed through my saved work, found some stuff that would be suitable for this.

http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/1716/barghesthr9.png
Everyone's favorite wolf/goblin fiend, the Barghest.

http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/2179/assassinaz9.png
An Assassin, as pictured in the DMG.

There's a few more, but they're from a while ago, and my style has changed since then, to the point that I just about cringe when I look at them. I'm gonna update them before I put them on the internet.
:edit: Note to self, zoom out to check for 'spare parts' before exporting the image.

Huge Board Monsters. It includes an Aboleth, Tarrasque, Purple Worm and Tendriculos;

Yes it is, want me to make a fixed version of it?

BTW-i'll need to know what version of the swordswoman you are talking about (technically there are 3, the armored girl with the mask, the one with the vest, and the one in my signature with the dress.)

Hmm, very nice. I'd prefer to draw these with the bases around 15/16" × 7/16", scaled for larger monsters... also, I'm thinking of overly-complicated ways of making these figures "fly..."

Heh. I can only draw simple humanoids. :smallamused:

I've already tried to make some of the larger creatures (see my previous post). Perhaps flying creatures could just be taller with a hole cut in them to represent the empty space, sort of like;

Got a few ideas.

If you want to ask something in specific now its the time, but the theme is fire, keep that in mind.

I'm pretty sure I did more than that. :smallamused:

Do you need it reformated or something?

I would've put it up, but it's a bit bigger than a page. If you want to change it (maybe only have 1 of each design rather than 2) that'd be good, or I could do it.

Cute Cardboard Heroes-the Fire-starter Pack.

http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/7672/fireheroesfe2.png

A hellhound, a fire incarnation (or any other fiery elemental), a fire-ordinated cleric, a firewarrior, a red knight, and a sorcerer.

I don't like the sorcerer and the red knight too much, and the cleric is a bit weak. but the incarnation, firewarrior and hellhound rocks.

Edit-posted the wrong version by mistake. fixed now.

Ehy guys, I would like to contribute with some of my stuff. But can someone post a blank pack, just to be sure to respect the dimension of the character? A blank pack with 8 medium sized or 6 medium and 2 large sized would be good.

Any type would be good. Let's say jpg, it's the same, I'm going to process it in Inkscape anyway. Thanks in advance!!!
