No adventurer anywhere can keep a mount. They're disposable, apparently.

And Belkar appears to be keeping a cat, to the extent that anyone keeps a cat.

Who says he can't keep Mr. Scruffy? Even if the paladins want to keep the cat around, there's no reason Belkar can't just smuggle him out.

There only that many jokes that can be told about a cat and an adventuring party. He has filled his role.

What I wonder is why Roy has been kept far from Mr Scruffy's view up to now...

Who says the Paladins even want to keep Mr. Scruffy? Now that he's done pointing out their new ruler with his tail, what's he good for?

In fact, Mr. Scruffy's continued presence would be a liability to Thanh in his new job: What happens when he, in his infinite feline wisdom, does something else that gets interpreted as a sign?

No, the cat is keeping Belkar. Just ask Mr. Scruffy, he will agree with my assessment.

There are only so many cat jokes, period. That didn't seem to stop Jim Davis.

Belkar can keep Mr. Scruffy, now that he's given them a sign that Thanh is the leader he's not needed.

Cat jokes probably fall under the generalized Martin theorem on the exponentially decreasing utility on feline exposition.

Demetri Martin: [showing a graph] This is the cuteness of a girl versus how interested I am in hearing about how intuitive her cat is. You see, the cuter the girl is, the more I'm willing to hear about the cat. "Oh really?" "Yeah, he's very intuitive." But you'll notice, at a certain point, I don't care how cute you are. I don't wanna hear about your f***ing cat anymore. I hate your cat. When you leave the room, I try to get it.

The comment addressed to me was in Klinglish [Klingon words with English grammar] and the ones beginning with "Cthulhu" are a well-known phrase in a language used to summon ancient evil gods.

My theory is that the cat is an evil outsider driven to insanity by being Shojo's avatar for all those years.

Yes. Fear for your life. The cat doth approach.

Well that's just as per the Brunching chart http://www.brunching.com/images/geekchartbig.gif

But is blogging in Klingon less nerdy than a Klingon blogging?
