My information is fuzzy, please correct me if I have anything wrong.

The Oracle is a follower of Tiamat, who is evil and an apparent ally of The Dark One, Redcloak's diety. Roy questions the gates, now, is there a possibly that Tiamat meddle with the Oracle's predictions to favour Redcloak? Or am I grasping at straws?

I would say you are quite definately grasping at straws.

We know for a fact that Tiamat and Rat -also- want the Dark One to leave the Snarl the heck alone. There is no reason Tiamat would have to ASSIST the Dark One in releasing a god-killing monstrosity upon the world (and possibly heavens)

I would have to say that you might have a point, but the Oracle has already proven himself as a reliable source of information. As such i would have to assume that he tells the truth. Also, when does it say he follows Tiamat?

It doesn't say (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0331.html) but I wouldn't call it subtle...

It says so here (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0331.html). Not by name, but the upper right panel says it all.

Edit: Whoo-cha! Ninja's!

The bit where he invokes the power of the great five-headed mistrss of dragons to recieve his powers (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0331.html) is a popular bit of supporting evidence.

In any case, Roy's question was so precisely worded to be entirely self-defeating that there didn't need to be any shenannigans on any being's part to give Roy the wrong answer.

Ah, well alright then.
