401. Poor Roy misses out on all the fun...

401 makes me laugh the most, and 405 is a plot critical one. The other one's are ok, but these two are the best for me.

I vote for fun: 401 it is.

All pretty lacklustre. I prefer 403 for the deadpan insults.

401, for some nice Roy related humour.

has to be 401. None of them will make the top 5 for the 100.

401 at least was amusing.

Same here. I vote 401, with 405 close behind.

Also, I've always wondered: What is the significance of your poster name? Why Nazzo the 102nd?

Not the prime material and none really stand out. I'll go with 403 for no really good reason

Well, when I was a child, my nose was quite big for my age. My classmates used to make fun of me because of my nose. It was that time when ICQ was the #1 IM, and my nickname is a stylish version of nose in Italian ("naso"), since my grand-grand-grand father (and up) are from Italy.

102 is just a number I like.

I'll toss in one for 403, mostly to make things interesting...

403. I have to explain my "analysis" in the Bot4H thread: It was early in the morning and I was already running late and I was going mostly from memory and I thought 402 was funnier than it was. But I still don't see how 401 is THIS great. It's funnier outside the punchline than I remember, but it's not head and shoulders above the other strips. (And no matter who wins here, it's just going to get beat down in BotQ. I mean, just look at the very next group of five.)

Why is it that these first 5 comics of the 400s seemed better than the best of the last hundred??

I suppose it is that the comics gain a lot from the context.

Anyway, I'm giving it to the humor of 402. But the plot advancement of 405 was very good.

I have always enjoyed space-time rift related humor, so 401 for me.

None of them really stand out for me, and I won't be upset if (as seems likely) 401 wins. But I like Shojo's method of negotiating with O-Chul, so I'll vote 404.

Yeah, these were kind of weak, but I'll go with #405 because of the paladins cleaning the litter box bit :smallamused:

405, because Shojo is, even above Haley and V, my favorite character because of things like this.

Banjo and Haley's filthy lucre for the win. I pick 402.

Hrm, 405 leads into one of my favorite plot moments, but for pure funny, 401 takes this one.

Also, I felt really dissatisfied with the Best of the Hundred. None of the finalists were really that great, either from a hilarity or a plot perspective. And I thought that the plot arc in the later 300's was both hilarious and genuinely engaging. In any case, the high point for me goes from about 390 to 410, so I look forward to this set.

I actually think these are pretty good strips, just we're spoiled by voting no the BotQ and BotH.

403 and 405 are both pretty good, I absolutely love Belkar's quotes here ("That Belkar. As stubborn as he is stone cold sexy." - talking about oneself, that has to be one of the most awesome sentences ever). 405 is great for the dramatic ending, you just know things are getting to really mess up from there.

But I vote 401. Because Roy finally got a proper night's rest. And the whole world went upside down while he was sleeping. Each panel completely different, each totally crazy, each perfect, each making use of the greatness built up in the previous 30 odd strips.

For a while there on the first page, I was wondering if only two strips would get any votes. Then 405 started challenging 403 for second... 401 looks to be the runaway winner.

I actually think these are pretty good strips, just we're spoiled by voting no the BotQ and BotH.

Hey, I think 403, 402, 404, and 401 (from best to weakest) are at least decent strips, and in any other hundred, 403 and 402 would be dark horses for the Quarter. But in this hundred? This is the weakest group of this hundred. And I'm surprised by the turnout for 405.

And probably almost every strip in the next group of five would crush any strip from this group of five. 406 is plot-critical and long with a lot of tension, 407 is probably going to be hailed as "just plain awesome". 408 and 409 have their definite merits but they are likely to take votes away from each other. 410 also has its merits, but in the same way that this group of five has its merits. So I expect either a duel, or for one strip to outpace the other and the other to get challenged for second by one of the latter strips.
