I have noticed that a number of non-native English speakers are following OotS, and judging from some people's English skills on the forums, they are expending quite an intellectual effort to do so. I admire them, and thought maybe I could do the same, and improve my ability in foreign languages.

Can anyone recommend an interesting webcomic in other language, especially Russian or French? I'm more interested in an original than an English webcomic in translation, because the cultural aspect is valuable, too.

Not Russian or French, but:

A German one panel comic, pretty funny at times (but not always...)

Tired N' Drowsy, are you boggled by the concept?

I think you should maybe tell us what non-english languages apart from Russian and French do you speak and how well do you speak them.

Here's one I enjoyed greatly, this one is in Finnish.

Kahden maailman välissä (http://www.between-two-worlds.net/fi/)

There's also an English translation for those who don't read Finnish:

Between Two Worlds (http://www.between-two-worlds.net/)

It's a finished comic, but the maker is currently working on a new project. This one is in English: The Broken Mirror

Dear Qov, comics are a great way to learn a language, especially colloquial language.

In French, you could try good comic artists, like
David B
Guillaume Bouzard
Guy Delisle
Dupuy & Berberian
Manu Larcenet
Marjane Satrapi
Joann Sfar
Lewis Trondheim

Just a few names (alphabetically sorted), there are plenty more.

Big archives, the comics themselves are in english, but the authors commentary is in french and his linkpage has alot of french stuff in it.

Now that I think about it, since you're asking for a Russian webcomics, you might be as well intersted in this:

Rotflpg (http://rotflpg.kirtanoffice.com/), farily amusing Polish fantasy webcomic.

A Quartz Bead (http://aquartzbead.net/), another Polish webomic, this one seems to be a bit Shadowrun-inspired, for what I know about Shadowrun.
