This isn't an RAW question, but also not RAI(or any variation thereof).

In PHB2, deflect, lesser is stated to grant a deflection bonus, while deflect is stated to give a shield bonus. Is this a misprint or intentional? Since the spell is called deflect, I'm leaning towards mistake, but I was wondering what the opinion is from the board.

What do you think?

I would assume (and probably houserule) that they both give a deflection bonus to AC (since, you know, shield already gives a shield bonus to AC), but nothing appears to contradict that they give different types of bonuses.

I checked the errata for PHB2, and the only thing that it has about the deflect series is that lesser deflect should have a minimum of +1 bonus.

side note:
Infinite Deflection , the Epic Feat , is awesome.
