Pretty simple question, does anyone know of a update of the adventure to 3.5? I was thinking of running a Gygax adventure for my group this weekend and I've run Tomb of Horrors pretty recently.

IIRC, someone might be running a game of Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil in one of the gaming forums here...

I think that includes the original content...

So, I think that there's a 3E/3.5 version around, probably on the Wizards website if it's free.

Humm... I'll go take a look on the PbP forum. I've looked at the WotC website, I can only find Return to the Temple for 3.5 not the Original Adventure.

AFAIK there isn't an actual, original, ToEE for 3/3.5 at least not on Wizards.

I could be wrong though.

I think...

I think I am gonna start trying to convert ToEE to 4e and convert RttToEE to 4e as well and run them both....

Wow..

I just had... one of the those things...

you know, a headache with pictures...

Imagine running the original Temple and the Return at the same time for two different groups. Different days of course, but simu-running them more or less and subtly changing things for the RttToEE group as the ToEE group does things.

It reminds me of a really kickass game that has a similar plot.

Well, Shhalahr Windrider is running the Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil here on the forums. (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65354)

I don't know if/how much the actual Temple has been changed in the module... So this might not be exactly what you're looking for, but it might be enough to construct something close...

There is a conversion for the Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil; there's a link to that in the forum dedicated to the adventure on Monte Cook's website whose posters made it (IIRC). It might not be the one that you want though.

NOTE: Return to the temple of elemental evil is not by Gygax but by Monte Cook.

NOTE#2: RttToEE is a looooong adventure and the central chunk of it is just a big dungeon... it got really boring when my group played it.

NOTE#3: the initial part (the manor) is fairly good as a stand-alone as well and is much shorter (you could do it in 1-2 sessions). This is true for both the original adventure (T1-4) and the 3e one.

Here's the link to the original thing (T1-4) (http://web.archive.org/web/20031203092722/http://www.enworld.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=getit&lid=316)
It was a bit tricky to find though.

EDIT: this is not the original adventure. It is a file with a conversion for all the creatures found in the module.

Hmmn. I imagine there are conversions out there of T1-4 for D20, but it shouldn't really be that hard to do the job yourself. Most of the Monsters can be replaced with the D20 versions fairly easily. I guess it depends on how D20 you want the adventure to be. There'll be random problems like the 0 Level Tailor who attacks with Cross Bows and Daggers as though a Level 7 Fighter, but that can be fairly easily overcome with Circumstance Modifiers or just outright ignored if you don't think your players would be too happy about such things.

[Edit]
Well found, Rad. I see they ignored the Tailor

RttToEE was... I played both, the 3.5 pen and paper version with my group, and the Atari conversion with the group (old school hotseat). The general agreement was that the computer version was far more enjoyable, simply due to the size and complexity of the dungeon.

In an effort to actually pull my weight I went and had a look for some maps of the Temple that I remembered seeing. I had no success, but I knew somebody on Dragonsfoot would remember. As it turned out, it was our very own Nagora who recalled their location, so thank him when you check out these lovely (that is if you are not looking for Old School Blue versions) looking maps:

Rereading my post it looked like it could have been misleading... the link is to a conversion for the creatures present in the module, since I assumed that you had the module in the first place. (I keep it dearly together with my Basic D&D stuff).
